Yeah, I not only caught it - I did a Video Capture of the entire
performance, in stereo, and I'd be happy to upload it to anybody who wants
it. The file is 7.72 MB, and it's a "Videogram" - the player is built into
the file (which is an .exe), and it's compressed from the original 53 MB
.avi. I don't have a Web page, and I doubt if Skadz would want me to
attach an 8 MB file to this message, so somebody please let me know where
and how I can upload this video. I also captured ZZ Top's performance the
night before, if anybody's interested. (Oh, sorry, these only play in
Windows, on 486 or better PCs - bummer for all you Unix and Mac-heads,
unless you got some kinda emulation.)

Speaking of Tori, I'd like to thank Syrinx for the tape of KevMo's MMTBH -
Tori sounds amazing on it! (So does Kevin, BTW)

i went down to my mall to get a ticket. got here extra early so i ws first
in line. the guy was just about to get me a ticket at 11:00 sharp and the lines
to seattle (from where i am) went down! the guy couldn't get back into the
system! then he told me that he had to help some other customers!
so i run down to a pay phone and tried to call them myself. after
redialing for a few minutes i finally got through, 15 minutes after they went
on sale. and this time the lines were mysteriously back up. i got my ticket
but it's not nearly as good as i could have had! i'm so pissed off.
but there is nothing i can do about it but hope they announce a vancouver date.
    yeah right!>
oh and the 27 dollar ticket cost me 37 with all the "service" charges.
    yeah nice service...what a joke!

    Friends,

First, I have to apologize for the fact that there's no DTC. But since we're
like a big, happy (more or less), international "family", I thought I might
    ask for some feedback here.

Okay, this has to do with computer keyboard ergonomics. If this topic is
going to anger or bore you, please skip to the next 'Jam message.

Notice that your keyboard has the letter-keys set off to the left of the
assembly, and to the right of these keys are cursor keys and the numeric
keypad. So, if you line up the keyboard chassis with your monitor (assuming
your monitor is immediately in front of you, and not at some funny angle due
to lack of desk space), you end up typing with your hands offset to the left
just a bit. If you try to line up the letter-keys with the center of the
monitor, the keyboard ends up shifted to the right a bit.

Would any of you prefer to have a keyboard with the letter-keys directly in
the center of the keyboard itself, enabling you to type in-line with the
position of the monitor, and keeping the keyboard chassis also lined up
    along the monitor's center axis?

Just wondering. Your feelings on this would be most helpful. Thanks.

    Subject change....

A couple of weeks ago I asked where to download Lemur Voice samples, because
I didn't want to risk disappointment through purchasing the CD and not
liking it (which happened with Shadow Gallery). Well, I decided to chance
it, and I bought it. At first, I had trouble with the vocals... not that the
singer is bad, by any means. It's just that the tone of his voice is not
what I'm used to. I was not, however, turned off after my first listening.
Now that I've given the disc a fair chance, I'm happy to say that I really
like it. And this is quiet a statement, considering I dislike most (not all)
    progressive rock.

    Some notable points:

        -The singer, to me, sounds a bit like Steve Perry at times;
        -The guitar playing is outstanding and tasteful (there you go, Marcel);
        -There is a remarkable Rush influence, as well as our beloved DT;
-Track 5 ("More of Nothing"), at time 3:30, reminds me of the middle part
            of The Trees where the keyboard solo appears;
-Track 7 ("Prime of Passion") kind of reminds me of Whitesnake (from the
era of "Still of the Night", et al.--long live John Sykes!!)
-There are very few occurences of the stereotypical, high-pitched
"Ahhhhhh!!!", which many people associate with "Metal" (like KJL does
during "The Killing Hand" on LatM.)

There. My miniature assessment of Lemur Voice's _Insights_ album. Did I
mention that I like it? Yeah, I really do.

    Howdy!

Just thoght I tell all ya'll that the Vai show at MI (the early one anyway)
was AWESOME!!! I think I maybe thougt he couldn't recreate his stuff live --
he can and does. And get this, he's got Mike Keneally playing rhythm/harmony
guitar and keys!! I didn't recognise the bassist or drummer, but both were,
as expected, very good. Steve is now at the top fo my showmen list. He
didn't do "When I Was a Little Boy," but he did do a HILARIOUS musical comedy
routine in the middle of the show. Most of the songs were from FIRE GARDEN,
but he did a good smattering from PASSION & WARFARE as well as "The Attitude
Song" and a cover of "Born Under a Bad Sign." And Steve has DEFINATELY been
listening to a lot of blue lately.

Oh yah... even though I can't go see Yngwie next week (he's playing at some
darned place that won't let me in), it looks like I WILL be going to G3...
can't wait for Kenny Wayne... or the encore I know they'll all do together.
    :)

hi all. it is i, your beauteous koba. my mysterious self re-appears again,
with a couple of comments and observations and diddly.

    1) the rangers: ahhhhh, since someone mentioned it, what a wonderful thing.
the gretz, and the mess. i don't care who gets the 3 assists, it's still
lovely. too bad they only tied (i was at the binghamton rangers game, and
    those scummy fucks lost!)

    2) my dt content: last night, at the game, i had the privilege of ingesting a
certain fungal friend that made me see and hear and imagine fuuny. i had tho
throw on "scarred", and it was just so funny. i mean, yeah it sounded good
and all (not particularly BETTER, where i was just like "whoaaaaaaaaaah", in
that stupid california stoner voice), but all that jamming (and it IT
jamming), esp. kevin, made me sit and think "grateful dead" for some silly
reason. then again, my entire night was silly, so what am i thinking.

    3) so bafu finally makes his return. speaking of scummy.........what's up you
punk! i look forward to hearing more from this infinitely wise and infinitely
    warped man.

    4) the ytsecon is one week away, and i shall be stuck here in scummy
binghamton trying to write a 15 pager on why state neutrality is a better
normative theory of law than communitarianism (any expertise on this matter
would be GREATLY appreciated). anyone wishing to come and visit (i'm ONLY 3
hours away), especially the ladies (how's that for cyber-flirting?), just
    show up.

    5) speaking of binghamton, it's funny that i look next to me on my desk, and
i have ticket in my hand that says "binghamton university- and evening with
    tori amos, sunday, october 6, 1996." i would've eating the FUN-gus tonight,
but since i'm going with my composition professor, maybe not.

alas, that's enough from me. til the next one.

    Hey folks-

I got two kickin' CDs this past thursday. I got the new Tool which kicks a
hell of a lot of ass. These guys have so much power. I also got the Lemur
Voice CD. These guys are pretty good. Some of the music reminds me of
Fates Warning and the lead singer (at times) reminds me of the singer from
Damn the Machine. I had bought some progressive CDs in the past and did
not like them (ie. Mastermind, Threshold, etc.) but I have a feeling that
it won't be the case with Lemur Voice.

Oh yeah, I got Rush tickets for the Philly show on Nov. 6th. I also found
out that Dr. Ruth will be giving a lecture at my school that evening which
I wanted to go to. Hmmm....what would you guys do? Should I go see Rush or
    Dr. Ruth? :)

Whoa, I heard a few wavs Dusty sent me and I was shocked. So me and a
friend of mine went out, looking for them. Well good for me we found
them. And they KICK ASS. Especially Lemur Voice and SG. SG even threw an
"EVE" in track 20. Of course it's not the same, just the concept. I wish
they could use that 20th track to some RPG's ending scene. Sure sounds
like that. So now I don't have to hear DT everyday! (not that that's
bad). Now I'm shifting thru WM, LM and SG since my friend's got Enchant.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and even more to Dusty....those
were my best spent $36 in a LONG time. Later!

At least these titles sound cool. "Peruvian skies" sounds like something off a Michael Hedges album. Actually, "carnival of clams" sounded cool as well. But I think it is only a working title.

If this is true, though, that makes 92.5 minutes of music. If you can only put 75 min. on a CD then we're looking at either song cutting or a double CD. I hope they don't cut any songs. I hate trying to find them on boots and studio recordings are sooo much better. You never know though. They might put them as B-sides on they're new singles. :-) IbnzRG570 a.k.a.
