YT>make it but DS has a good chance of making it and so does JM(if he ever

Grrr. FYI Rush tickets will be going on sale on Saturday,
10/12. Due to the Smashing Punkins tix going on sale THIS weekend, they
    pushed it ahead. Grrr.....

PS LOVE Working Man! It is good to hear some of the voices I grew up on
again, like Mark Slaughter, and Seb Bach as well as some new stuff from
DT members (gotta have that DT content). I really dig Mike Bakers
voice on Trees. What a cool album.

I'll put this one up to a vote. If enough people think it belongs there,
then it's in. Personally, I'd love to have a more definitive answer
(Band members? Care to clarify?), but I think enough people are curious
    about this as it is.

Now, here's what I want to know. How well did Mike sing? :)

Yes, I failed to mention that. I haven't seen a description of Cons as eloquent as the one Pat wrote.

Well, I'm staying at the rents' place that weekend, but thanks for the offer.

OK, now for the other news: Ethyl Mertz is *not* performing Saturday night. So, the only other show I know of that night is Power Windows. These guys are amazing, and I know that Mithrandir and I will both be there. Who else is going? Let's start up a YtsePosse!!!

Oh, and to Mojoman - congratulations on a still unblemished record of thoughtful, relevant posts to the Jam. :-/

Looks like I'm going to have to go rent Goonies now... :)

I'm probably not going to get another shirt update out for a day or two here (pauses for sigh of relief). I'm buried with work right now. You know it's a bad week when you get back from a trip to StL and find out that the program you thought you had until midnight the next night to code is really due at 9:40 the next morning. I haven't slept since sometime yesterday. :)

Anyhow, I did pick the shirts up this weekend. They ended up printing 217 shirts overall (I only ordered 200, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Whatever that means. :). The shirts turn out well, there are a few that aren't as good, as can be expected with a process job. One or two where the print is slightly crooked or the color is just a bit off, but overall, they all came out well. I'm in the process of sorting and folding each one individually, which is a pain in the back when your bed is two feet shorter than you are. :/ They will premier this weekend as planned at the Con, and all the mail orders up till then will be shipped out on the 16th of October.

Here's the important part... If you are going to the Con, and you want to get a shirt, but haven't ordered one, please *do not* send a check at this point. It will just be a hassle if you're at the Con to get the shirt and I don't have any record you have paid. Just hold out until then and pay for it there. And to anyone who is going to the Con, *has* sent a check and hasn't recieved confirmation from me that you got it, please email me ASAP.

I guess that's about it from here for now... I should have an updated shirt post in two days or so, depending on when I find time to sleep and do homework. In the meantime, as always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me. :)

    Later all...

Plus, just for the hell of it, I've got Rush's "Live In Toronto 1986" up for grabs as well. As a non-drummer, I can see how some people might find drum solos boring. Personally, I think that a good drum solo is just mind-blowing, *if* I am listening intently to the music. As background music goes, yes drum soloes are boring, if you aren't really listening to them. I have actually skipped the drum solo on A Show of Hands sometimes, even though it is a work of art. In short, drum soloes have their time and place, but it's not for everyone all the time.

    (how's that for a non-offensive post? =)

Hope to see all you St. Louis jammers at the Rush show!

WoOwOo more Aussie jammers. We must almost be up into the double figures by now. Is there anyway we can compile a list of the number of jammers from various countries, just by their URLs? Skadz, I'd do it if you trusted me with the urls of those subscribed. I'd only need the last 2 components, ie .com.nz bit.

Another side note, those not going to the Con and who own as few clothes as I do, take a gooood look at Pat's YtseShirt. The design is awesome and you to can become a walking promo for DT. On the topic of Spock's Beard. Does anyone know a mail order place where their CD can be ordered, t'would be muchly appreciated.

and just to be different, my now playin list is: 1. Ivanhoe - Visions & Reality 2. Angra - Holy Land 3. Superior - Behind 4. Black Jester - Welcome to the Moonlight Circus 5. KevMo - Chromakey demo.

To all- Hello and how are you? I'm listening to Tales From Topographic Oceans now for the umpteenth time since I bought it (when I was a Sophomore or Junior in High school....but that was 1991 or so) and I still can't believe how much of a beautiful work of art it is.

But that's not the point. I just got done flipping the radio stations here, and I have one realization. THE RADIO STATIONS IN MADISON SUCK BIG FAT SLOPPY COCK!!! I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but let's get real. Look at what a great medium radio is, and look at all the waves that are being wasted with "from the muddy banks of the Wishkah" right now. BULLSHIT. I can't find one good tune on the radio. THe classic rock stations around here are as guilty of fellatio as any other stations. I can't wait until MADISON STUDENT RADIO begins it's reign over the college stations.

Just so you know, I too will be a host of a prog/metal type show (hopefully within one year's time) and I'll be coming here with my setlists and questions. I'm looking forward to it. You know what I just realized....there's a lot of prog shows on college radio stations, no? I think it's beautiful. Let's hope and pray that SOMEDAY we can turn on a COMMERCIAL radio station and catch some Lemur Voice or Enchant or DREAM THEATER!!!

One more thing....if you've got the time and inclination, check out www.msr.org It's the web page for the up and coming Madison Student Radio. It's put together very nicely, not to mention very fucking humorously. Take care. _____________________________________________________ "The strength of the moment lies with you" --Yes _____________________________________________________
