So, take it to private e-mail ! Don't you think it's a bit egotistical
of you to bother us with the same old useless thread just because *you*
missed it ? Just request some old digests and read *those* instead !

    > I can't stand elitists who think that because THEY'VE been there
    > longer, they shouldn't have to put up with repeat content.

Personally, I can't stand rude newbies who think THEY own the list the
minute they join. We *know* certain threads turn to shit or go nowhere
*because* we've been around longer... *This* is one of those threads...

The thing is, when *I* joined, we got 2 digests a day... Right now we're
up to 4-5 a day... Recycling topics would make things even worse...
Personally, I *don't* like moderation, but *this* is phuqing ridiculous !

Just compare the "Most Frequent Poster List" of the Ytsejam and the
Freaks-list (Marillion) on my homepage... Look at the amount of digests
and messages... Both lists are on the same server and have almost the
same amount of subscribers (there are even *more* Freaks than Jammers!).

    > Grow up.

    Shut up. ;-]

    > Oh apparently you didn't see my other two or three or so posts.

Hah :-) I, for one, *already* skip 98 % these days... Only 2 % more
    and I'm off the list...

    >> constructive. No one ever agrees with the dissenting opinion.
    >> No one ever remembers how specific people felt. It's pointless.

    >
    > "We say so"? Do you have multiple-personality disorder?

    What's wrong with having a multiple-personality disorder ?????
Multiple-personality disorder is better than just having *a* personality
disorder, or having *no* personality at all :-] Want one of mine ?

    > I wasn't looking for an argument, I was looking to see how many people
    > liked ACOS more than IAW, and was told, basically, to shut up.

    Scroll back 29 lines... >:-)

    Oops... sorry ! ;-)

You were talking *to* Carlos ? Here ya go pal :

    > Don't worry, I know how listservs work. I'm on a few, actually.
    > And as with all lists I've ever seen, there are questions asked.
    > That is the only way someone can learn, or, in the case of the
    > question I posted, find out what the general opinions of the people
    > are.

Someone who "knows how listservs work" *knows* a poll on a mailinglist
is a big no-no... That's exactly what your 'question' was all about...
If you'd asked everyone to mail *you* their opinions *privately*,
none of this YtseCrap (c) would have happened... [including this message]

    > I have found out, so far, that people here generally stick their noses
    > in the air to questions asked by newcomers to the list and those who
    > ask them. Not the most kind welcome, I'd say.

Shut up, you pathetic newcomer !
/me sticks his nose in the air

    Kidding :-)

Hm... "Ed J Wilk III"... sounds like a bad sequel ;-) [sorry pal!]

Ed: Don't take this 'flame' too seriously... I'm just genuinely concerned
about the current state of the Ytsejam. Early this year the Jam had to
move to *this* server, because 2 digests a day already was too much for
the other one (Arastar)... We're up to 4-5 a day right now... Also, I've
noticed the huge amount of people that leave the list for lack of content
and/or the amount of digests... I actually think we're scaring off lot's
of newbies this way, and losing a few 'elitists" too... Very uncool...

I just added some stuff to my homepage, you guys might like :

    * 28 (256-color) Dream Theater icons (just made them)
(the Tori Amos and Marillion icons are still there too)
    * A very dorqy James LaBrie picture from his "Winter Rose" days :-)
    * The address of the Dutch DT-fanclub "Theater Of Dreams"

Also, check out my "Where Do We Go From Here?" page... I'm looking
for URL's of record companies and online record stores, so I can
add them to that page... I've set up a FORM you can use to suggest

Finally, I quick reminder... You can still have your homepage linked

    A few notes...

During TFE the large screen had old newsreel footage (of Kennedy, etc)
It would start out snowy (like TV static), then clear into a new image.
Kinda like U2's Zoo TV tour. They also had the animated scene from the TV
promos (receiving echo, launching probe, etc).

RTB had the same video footage as last tour.

2112 was played IN ITS ENTIRETY, and had the man/star on the back screen.
During the "we have assumed control" at the end, lights were set off almost
    like strobes.

The "break" is the break the band took, and probably is where the actual
break in the setlist will be.

Hey fellow Ytse-Jammers, I am new to the listing and this is my first
posting after reading thru about the past ten digests. This is great.
I am a serious guitarist, music lover, and DT follower. I've seen DT
twice in concert and I think they rank as my top two concerts of all
time, and at 34 years of age I have seen some good ones (re: Van Halen
opening for Black Sabbath with Ozzy back in 1978).

My ears are still ringing from G3 last night in SA. It was phenomenal.
Adrian Legg is from outer space. Otherwise I cannot explain the magic with
which he played. Vai, Eric Johnson, and Satriani all played very well.
The format was fast paced and well organized. The only thing missing was
Steve Morse (too busy touring with DP) and Jeff Beck (where is he now?).

I really enjoy hearing of new, maybe obscure, but highly talented groups,
therefore it appears that this is the place to be. For those of you that
are into complex music, here are some of my favorite groups aside from the
obvious (DT, Vai, Rush, KX, FNM):

Mr. Bungle (Bizare side project of FNM's Mike Patton)
            Scatterbrain (Genious comedy rock)
Fishbone (Steely Dan with Funky Metal Thunder)
I Mother Earth (Funk power of RHCP but with more finesse)

Can't wait for the next DT masterpiece....

I agree and would add to that the piano instrumental Celestial
Haze. I was thinking about the use of the voice as an instrument and
Gregor does a great job on that track. The instrumental production is
very good on the album. Everything sounds warm. /me LIKES IT! :)
I find Gregor hard to understand as well. It's almost as
though he were standing a great distance back from the mic or the
highs were rolled way back on his vocal mix. Once you read the lyrics
though, all is again right with the world. :)
Other tracks that I greatly enjoy are Intuition and Deep
Inside. The album is a winner guys! Keep it up!

    (snip)

    >I definitely like
    >Marcel's soloing style better than Brendt Allman's though, it's very unique

I think Marcel is a more fluid player that Brendt. And that
sound!!!!!! How can you not love that tone! To be honest, my tone is
almost the exact same. I don't have his dexterity (yet :) ) but both
of us used Marshall based systems and they have a rounded distortion
that is more glowing hot that "staccato slap in the face" when used
    properly.
Marcel, you guys have to play North America soon! This is NOT
    negotiable! :)
Christ, you can stay at my place while you're in Toronto to
save money if you like. Just remember to leave that Marshall head of
yours here. I could use another one. :)

Look Mark, if you don't like it here, then leave already! I've been on and
off this list for over a year now and it seems all you ever do on this list
is bitch about EVERYTHING! When I post, 99% of my posts don't have anything
to do with DT, but that's because most of the others here know a hell of a
lot more about the band then I do so I'm not going to interject something I
know has been discussed a million times or I don't know anything about. If
you like Freaks, then that's great. I'm sure it's a fantastic list, at least
that's what I hear. But enough with the "Freaks is much better than the Jam"
