Hello!
Some DTC following, beware.
Remember the A&R guy Derek Oliver? Dream Theater called him their "good old
Pops" once (he signed them ;-)). Looks like DT are now orphans, because
he was fired. Don't worry, DT are still on eastwest, but if anyone knows
some more information about all this, please contact me.
I visited a new huge shopping center (Centro, Oberhausen, Germany) today and
found some DTC: They have a Ronnie Scott's Jazz & Blues club there ;-)))...
Later,
Steffen

There's a really cool site "Swen's Metal Top 10" out on GeoCities (it's
moved). It has pages for about any metal/rock band that you can think of,
where you can vote for your own personal Fav 10 of that band.
**********ATTENTION**********
**********ATTENTION**********
**********ATTENTION**********
PLUS, there are catagories for best musicians per instrument, plus best
album, etc, etc. Let's all go there and put in our votes (for you know
who). Right now it's kinda sickening. Metallica and Sepultura are the top
band members in almost every catagory. I have nothing against these two
bands, but I seriously think that DT is UNDER-represented. 100+ DT voters
vs. 500+ Sepultura/Metallica voters makes the voting a *bit* skewed...
The starting point URL is:
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/6666/
You can also get there from my "Assorted Links" section on my Galactic
Cowboys page (and there's a link to Swen's Top 10 GC songs" too)... :)
PS- Dammit, I'm definitely going to the NEXT YtseCon...it sounded cool.
PPS- Oh, I have no connection with Swen and/or his Metal Top 10 page (I'm
not getting paid to say this) :). I just think it's cool, and we need to
get in there and vote, vote, vote...

Good place to check some reviews. Includes Fates Warning, Dream
Theater, Cynic, and more. I really hate the way he puts down "Awake".

Just got my Lemur Voice CD today, and I must say, good job! The
first listen through, I had some gripes about stuff, but I think it's
cuz I was at work, so I gripe about everything there. I'm really
getting into it now. On the way, I hope they're just as good:
Magellan: Impending Ascension
Superior: (I hope, it's getting looked into)
Enchant: Blueprint...
Trans-Siberian Express: Christmas Eve
Keep the recommendations coming! I have only been let down once!

Personally, I have favorites for diff moods. When I'm depressed,
Awake, when I'm happy, I&W, and when I'm feeling like a cheeseburger,
ACoS. When I'm listening to older prog, WDADU. I can't claim any
one as a favorite, but I'm in an ACoS mood right now. :-O Moooooo!
>Synopsis:
>Prog=experiment with notes Pop=experiment with sounds
Anyone ever notice how R&B and hip-hop sounds like old Motown stuff, TLC
sounds like rewritten Supremes stuff, and Nirvana and the like sound like
rewritten Jimi Hendrix and stuff? I don't think it's experimentation, all of that
stuff was done in the 60's and 70's. Just like the guy I saw in the
sagging, olive green, courderoy, stovepipe pants and the bright
orange hunting shirt at Taco Bell the other day. I've got a better idea.
Just tattoo "Give Me Some Attention" across your forehead. Retro
sux, I heard the 60's sucked the first time.

I'll volunteer to keep a list of "baaad people." :) This way we don't have
to post to the jam to ask about someone. Well if you any trouble with
anybody in the past email and tell me what happened. I'll post back when I

don't complain! If Kevin does the FW album that's cool. Because that's

Well, here's my story on that: I had ordered an Anthrax shirt through them
plus an Anthrax bumper sticker. MONTHS pass by, I got pissed, wrote a
letter, never got a response, then all of a sudden, I got my shirt, but NOT
my sticker, but I did get the money I had spent on it back. It was out of
stock or something from the place they get stuff from. So, in the end, I
did get my stuff (except the sticker, but didn't get ripped off), but it
took a LONG time to get it. So, I suppose their service is spotty at best,
at least from my one experience. I just know that I personally won't be
ordering from them any more, but others may have had different experiences.
I don't think CDCellar is a "company" as such. I think it's one or two guys
that take orders for stuff, then order it from other sources, wait for the
stuff to get to them, then send it on to the customer with an upcharged
rate. Nothin illegal here by any means (at least over the internet), but
something just doesn't seem to fit...I dunno.
Anyone else got personal experiences with this seller? I don't want to
blast them too much if I just happened to be the only one...

neither. argueing about one album being better than another is
pointless. unless you're argueing just for the sake of arguement.
there's no rules to follow that defines what is good... it's a matter
of personal taste and choice. when you listen to music and you like
it, it's because it touches you on some emotional level...
everyone's minds work differently, people's opinions differ, etc.
etc.
i think you're wasting your time argueing about which DT album is the
best. just enjoy the music. :)

Thats completely true, for example, when my brother kurt and I are
gone "convert" someone to the Dream Theater Religion, we show them "Awake",
why? In our opinions it is a bit more commercial than, for instance, Images

Well,I've just listened Symphony X's new song it's titled "Out Of The
Ashes". It's incredible. it's more drmatical and powerful than their
previous materials. yeah, the demo version of this song was frequently aired
on radio here, but this time for complete version. It's owesome, imagine
Yngwie plays with Dream Theater! Everyone who loves progressive/heavy metal
music should check this band.
their 3rd album "The Divine Wings Of Tragedy" out date:13th Nov. from
MVP/Zero Corp.
Well, I found ad on music mag. According to that ad, Mike send his
personal video to that music boot video shop, and they made boot video from
Mike's master tapes. Yeah,I know his autographed boot video is available in
Japan. Yeah,I almost buy that video,but couldn't . Wow,he's nice guy,isn't
it? The title of this boot video is TV Compilation '92-'95".
And I found Journey's new album "Trial By Fire" at music store today, but I
can't buy this album 'Cuz,I pay for Kiss reunion tour today. It's 9,000 yen
(81US dollar). I can't believe.

Who was that Sue/Jeremy person? Does anyone still deal with Ranjit?
I got my WDADU and LATM from him. Shortly after that, the local music
store started carrying boots at a slightly cheaper price, but I was pleased
with his service. Seeing that the 'net can be a small community, in a
sense, I wonder how many of these complaints get spread because of USPS
screw-ups.

ACOS is an EP. Your argument meaningless since it is like debating

There's this jazz artist in the Bay Area whose name is "Keb mo". I heard

I heard it was because he didn't like James' vocal style.

I think Kevin is a Fucking Idiot! (sorry, Bafu, kicks are for Trids). He
left one of the greatest bands of all time because he thought he could do
better solo. Wrong! The failures far outweigh the exceptions. Even Sting
isn't as talented as he thought he was without The Policeman.

I heard that Derek is a puppet member, and that "Kevmo" is really
