Personally, I was pissed when someone recommended No Exit to me to
get started on Fates. I've never listened through the whole thing
yet! It has it's good points, but I can't stand how Ray howls
through alot of it. It's alot better than John Arch's strange
gurgles on the prev. albums, though. The music is there, but the
screeching vox bug the shit outta me. Better to start is Perfect
Symettry or Parallels. It all depends on which kind of music you
like the most, I guess, too. My personal fave though has to be
    Inside Out. Monument rokz nadz!

I'm finally sick of listening to SG. I've memorized the whole album
in 24 hrs. Bah! Completely analyzed and digesting in little chunks
of musical binary. I love it! Feed me more! Must... find...

I've listened to the Lemur Voice cd I picked up a few days ago a few more
times and now I am ready to say that this is a great cd and a welcome
    addition to my collection.

and I was wondering.... if I keep asking the same dumb question over and
over again will it eventually be in the FAQ.

    What's John Petrucci's favorite color?

To all the dt con goer's I wish the best of times for you all. If a
celebration of ytsejoy ever comes to say... st. louis; I'm there.

Hey, I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and even I gave some thought to giving Damon

I laughed at the ways to expose dream theater...especially the one's I've done.

            Trial Of Tears (John Petrucci)

    Hey fellow flame-throwers,
I'm just writing to ask if anyone will be taping the Jason Becker
Benefit. I would pay for a good copy. I idolize most of the players
    there.
Next, sorry for seeming so winy when it comes to Yani. I just

Yeah.. i started with inside out.. and i have to say im not too
thrilled about Fates,i mean i like em ..but i prefer SG or Lemur
Voice..i think because they sound closer to Dt than FW,and dt-likeness
is what i was looking for.. and yeah..Monument is my fave FW song..also
Outside Looking In..and leave the past behind..

Since no one has broken this.... I was reading in the
Metal Blade folder on AOL, and there was a message from Maria
(of Metal Blade) and according to her, Kevin Moore will be playing
all keyboards on the new Fates CD, which is supposedly going to
start being recorded in November. According to her, Joey Vera
(bass, ex-Armored Saint, current Fates Warning) and Mark Zonder
(drums, ex-Warlord, current Fates Warning) are both going to be
featured on Kevin Moore's CD, whenever that comes out. Whether
or not this is true....e-mail Maria at MTLBLDRCDS@AOL.COM and
she can, perhaps, straighten out any doubts.

Hi Frederico. I don't think so...

    1) Tom Sawyer came out in 1981. DT's 6:00 came out in 1994.
    2) 2112 came out in 1976. DT's A Change of Seasons was sometime around
    1989.
    3) YYZ came out in 1981. DT's Ytsejam came out in 1989.
    4) Closer to the Heart came out in 1977. DT's Surrounded came out in
    1992.

Don't get me wrong. It's a -great- premise, but couldn't have happened
    :)
However, current (1996) and future RUSH songs may definitely be
influenced by some Dream Theater songs !! :) :)

I thought this was going to be about bringing fishing rods to a DT show and casting towards the stage in an attempt to snag the band members' clothing...

Sadistic humor at a pinnacle. ;) "Join the mafia and threaten to break people's skulls if they don't check out DT."

Knowing you and your surprises, you wouldn't have even hinted that I was correct if I had randomly guessed and nailed the mystery shut BEFORE you posted this. :)

    > To those looking to send DEMO TAPES to DT, such as Lucian Maena, > there's no way anyone will give you the band members' home addresses,

There's nothing quite as refreshing as the subtle honesty of a man who doesn't even MENTION the power of a good bribe. :)

    Of course, *I* won't accept a bribe to give out DT's home addresses, if that's what you're thinking...I mean...I don't exactly *have* their home addresses...but even if I did...yeah...

Wanna add some real sweat to the game? Try playing with DT memorabilia as ante. Even better, do a star-pattern game with a table full of items, to be awarded to the mightiest wizard. Not that any of you are going to see this until you get back from the con...

Otherwise, to anyone who DOES read this today because, like me, they couldn't go to the con, there's going to be a freaky funky live internet broadcast of G3(!) tomorrow evening at 9pm Eastern. Details are at:

I was wondering if anyone out there with the available technology would be willing/able to record this event...?

Has anyone ever heard of a prog. rock band named "Paradise Lost"? If so, are they worth listening to, and what CD(s) would you recommend the most? I saw a good five or six of their CDs at the store yesterday and I'm curious. What do they sound like and is there another band to compare them with (e.g. Dream Theater)?

    Please e-mail me personally - 103430.227@compuserve.com

    Thanks
