"hip clique"... since when have we created this? I accept each and
every single Jammer as a potential friend... and I hold myself accountable
    to all of them. Ryan has been heavy-handed at times, but he needs to be;
he's the list manager. I can never tell what Ben's up to, though. :)

Everyone here, especially those who have met me and/or Skadz,
speak up now if you feel we've created an exclusive clique here on the
Jam. I'd honestly like to know.

Even the most offensive jokes have sometimes been hurled in _my_
    direction. I'm a double target: I'm a pretty fat guy, and I'm a Catholic.
If I can laugh at the most scathing jokes aimed at me for the sake of the
ingenuity of the joke itself, then anyone can do the same. I mean, for
crying out loud, half of the POPULATION gets grilled by the most common
    (and funniest) jokes: gender-specific ones.

But once the joke is over, reality begins, and I know you're
already well attuned to that by your reply. In my opinion, there is never
any excuse for being an asshole to a fellow human being until they've done
same to you first... though, granted, the temptation runs strong. :)

purchasing Angra merchandise right here in the USA please e-mail me
and I can send you a flyer with a list of stuff you can get. There
are t-shirts, posters, stickers, all kinds of stuff. So send me your

    Hey there :-)

Ever wondered how many posters on this list are in *your* domain ? Maybe you thought you were the only one in *your* country who posts to *this* mailinglist...

If so, check out my *new* addition to the "Most Frequent Poster List" !

I've just added a page that lists *all* the domains (sorted by domain name) that were sent from during the last month, plus *everyone* who sent from those domains (sorted by name)...

I got this idea after Henrik Gustafsson asked me via private e-mail if I could send him a list of all the Swedes who posted to the Ytsejam.

Hendrik, I hope you don't mind me quoting you here :

    > I'm thinking of getting a little network with us, good to have > while ordering stuff and keeping costs down, maybe also when > organizing a YtseConSweden.

Maybe this *new* list can be of some help to *others* who might have *similar* ideas... That would be very cool :-)

It's just a test-page right now, but *I* think it's a keeper :-) Hope you guys like it too... Let me know what you think !

Btw, I recently found out my guestbook-form looks like *crap* when viewed with netscape... Just letting you guys know it isn't supposed to look like that :-] ...Oh well, sign it anyway ;-)

    re: racist stuff

While racism sucks, I see some of the arguments as pointless. For example, someone (Andy?) said he had a friend who was black and she descibed being subjected to racist country music and the locals found the lyric humorous or whatever. Someone else mentioned that since white people never feel the sting of racist jokes, we just don't get it. Now is the time where I say, "what about the racist rap music?" and "every comedian (non white, and even white) makes fun of the "souless" white guy..." but as Bob Dole would say, "not gonna make that an issue." Anyway, this whole thing isn't about whether or not you or I have been insulted, it's about respect for the individual. I could not care less whether you are black, green, blue or brown; if you are an ignorant moron, you deserve my ridicule. But to prejudge (ha! prejudice!) someone, or to assign someone a blanket label based on color or national origin is not cool. I have noticed that the older generations are more insensitive then we are. My wife's grandmother expressed suprise when her nurse, who is of hispanic descent, turned out honest and trustworthy. It is this kind of ingrained prejudice that we should rail against. This woman means no ill will towards anyone, but automatically assumes that "they" are somehow untrustworthy based on origin. My language teacher, a Hungarian woman in her 60's, always makes comments about the Gypsies, Jews, and Blacks. She wouldn't hurt a hair on anyone's head, but she "automatically" assumes cultural stereotypes are the rule, rather than the exception. Granted, many stereotypes are at least somewhat based in truth; I prove the one about white guys who can neither jump nor dance, but to assume that, sight unseen, is wrong. So, while there is a lot of room for improvement, I think the more damaging type of racism is slowly disappearing - that is the thoughtless type. It is easy to label the local skin-head who beats up blacks, or the redneck who "hunts Messakins" as evil and bad. Society basically agrees that this is wrong. Much harder is it to publically condemn the subtle generalizations which have been indoctrinated into the heads of the very people we love. I know, because my wife teaches jr high school, that they are actively teaching tolerance and multicultural mutual understanding in schools today. Hopefully that will help end the ingrained types of racism, generalization and stereotype. Sadly morons will always be morons...

    But I digress.

-Dr. X - I bought Lemur Voice the other day. Happy?

    and

-Maddy - Legal to be discussed? WTF is that?

    I digress further.

Anyway, I got some cd's in the mail the other day, and I would like talk about them. If you don't wanna read this, see the subject of this here message. Kindly.

    I received:

Lemur Voice - Everyone has been talking about them, so I did the deed. This cd is sort of reminiscent of DT (of course), but I like it. (sorry, doc.) If you like DT, you wouldn't regret the purchase of this cd. I paid full price, mind you...

King Diamond - Graveyard - Eh. King, I don't know how you come up with some of this stuff. This guy is the Stephen King of metal music. Hmm King=King... He churns out work like a madman. New Mercyful Fate not enough? Have a new King Diamond, too. So far if I had to choose between the MF and the KD, I would choose the MF. King is cool though. Not the disc to put off your rent to buy, however.

King Diamond - Them - Oh yeah. If you don't have this, get it. The musicianship smokes. I can't believe Mikkey Dee plays in freakin' Motorhead now. He rocked. "GRANDMA!!!" If you have this you know; if not, get it. If you can't overlook very over-the-top lyrics and vocals, forget it. King Diamond - you like him or you don't. No middle ground. This was a replacement for my cassette.

Helloween - High Live - 2cd set reasonably priced. Not too outstanding, but pretty cool. If you are a fan, buy it. If not...it won't convert you.

COC - Wiseblood - Much like Deliverance. Pretty good, but I doesn't immediately satisfy. Deliverance didn't either, so I'll give it a few more listens.

Dio - Angry Machines - Dio! You are still around? Dude, you must be at least 50! Why does your material never really change? Vinny Appice! You still play the same fills you played in 1981! Jeff Pilson! Dokken? Tracy G!! Who are you and why should we care? Dio has fallen from the ranks of the major labels. His voice still delivers, but damn, listen to Dehumanizer and then this....Ouch. For hard-core Dio fans only. I used to be one, but then I bought Maiden's latest studio album hoping for a miracle. Not hear, nor here, folks.

On another note, I also sold my Echolyn CD. This should be labelled as the first ytse-recommendation failure.

I've been looking for the rhyme of the ancient mariner by Iron Maiden for about six or seven years now. Which albumis it on? Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

Also, my I suggest checking out Pushmonkey whenever possible. They opened for DT during the I&W tour at most, if not all, of the Texas shows. They also just finished opening for KISS during thier Texas leg. They're based out Austin, but travel all over Tx, La, Ok. They're killer live. You cant beat for a $5-10 cover charge. You can try to get thier first full-length CD but I dont think its being produced any more. The second (an EP) is just as good and diverse.
