I just got back from the Rush show in Dayton, Oh. Great show. You can tell
its early in the tour though cause some things seemed off and it took a
couple of songs to get the sound right.

What do Portnoy's clinics involve? I see that he is coming to Dayton in
November and am going to try to go, but I would like to know more about what
    goes on. Thanks.

I'm gonna try to make some of these shows, most likely the two latest
shows in the list. Much depends on whether I drive, fly, or take
    Amtrak.

Atlanta-area Jammerz, if you're interested in possibly carpooling up,
let me know. I'm especially interested if you have a dependable car
that's newer than my '87 Ford Taurus.

Jonin, from South/North Carolina, I have you in mind, too. Elliott
Kim, you also. Ahh, the wonders and joys of IRC.

Trey Allen and Brandon Ghiotto, are you making any plans to drive up?

Some or all of us may need crash space for at least one night (I
figure that, just like last time, we'll have to get a hotel room for
at least one night). Thanks in advance to you Tri-State Area jammerz
    for helping us out. :)

Is there anyone out there that has a tape of the St. Louis show from Nov 10th, 1994? I was at that one and I'd love to have a tape of the performance, esp since I can't even remember the setlist anymore...

If there is anybody with a tape of this, no matter how bad, or a tape of a show near the same time (ie, same setlist) please email me and let me know, I'd like to get a copy of it... thanks...

The disc looks great, Marcel. You really did an outstanding job. The liner pictures and everything are awesome. The audience sound does get annoying rather quickly, but it is still one of my fave DT boots ever.

    Hi all

2nd post in two days - not too much work to do at the moment.

Somebody recently asked (in relation to a Portnoy clinic) "where do I go to get shit signed?". Try the crapper, but you'll need a very soft pencil.

Does a Ytsevet spend the night with his arm up a cow's arse?

Only 293 more Rush reviews before the Christmas shows...

Just a short one today (as the bishop said to the actress).

stay safe and happy listening Neil Gallop (nga@software-ag.de)

Hello, you lucky bastards from the East Coast ;-)

Maybe you've seen it on the official web page:

DT to do 5 one-off shows!

DT is on the road again, this time for 5 shows in December, to test out the new material for the album and to thank the fans for being so patient with the delay of the new album. So here it is:

An Evening of New Music with Dream Theater - The Fix for '96

Wed. December 4th - The Chance - Poughkeepsie, NY Thurs. December 5th - Mulcahy's - Long Island, NY Fri. December 6th - Toad's Place - New Haven, CT Fri. December 13th - The Strand - Providence, RI Sat. December 14th - Birch Hill - Old Bridge, NJ

Ok, everybody with a DAT or tape recorder, tape these shows!

    Back to useless babble again.

Over the past few months, I've been slowly but steadily slipping Dream Theater references and images onto my 150-user network. Here are some of the things I've done:

1 - Setup "footers" in every users email quoting various Dream Theater tunes.

2 - Setup "Dos Prompts" so that users constantly are reminded that "Dream Theater Rules".

3 - Setup "Dream Theater Wallpaper" days - caught major flack for this one!

Any additional things to try would be appreciated - especially stuff involving sound clips...

    Hello Jammers,

Thanks to Digital Man for posting the DT Winter Tour dates, hopefully this year I won't buy a ticket, then get the flu, and then break up with my girlfriend and get chewed out at work and still never get to see the show. <bad fucking turn of events last year> I hope I can work something out at the job so I can get to the Birch Hill show, I'd really like to finally hook up with some jammers before a show, though I have met jammers at other prog-related concerts.

Man, my concert attendance record is on fire, I've been averaging one a week since the Tori Amos show at the beginning of October

10/1 Tori Amos 10/12 Discipline / Finneus Gauge (echolyn offshoot band) / Solaris Guitar Trio 10/19 Gong / Boud Deun 10/23 Rusted Root (tonight at Towson State University)

I probably won't be able to keep this up, Halloween partying to do next week!

Since I'm feeling particularly evil (I'm trying to convince three of my friends to join me and dress up as Kiss on Halloween <grin>) I'll include Dream Theater content. Any ideas on the album cover art for the new disk? If I thought this was their last album I could assume that they might show the guy who is holding the branding iron from WD&DU. (Possibly Gene Simmons, see all of my unrelated posting really relates to DT <grin>, talk about some serious projection on my part) I think they should keep the cloud idea (lots of clouds on the last three album covers), and go with the including something symbolizing a part of each song on the album cover, just so we can talk about it for 12 months and have something to ask Mike Portnoy at concerts during next year's tour.

I still think it would be neat if they put Mike Myers' severed arm with a knife in hand for Raise the Knife, or have it coming out of the side of the album cover, pop up knife! OK, I'm far too silly now.

I'll spare you any more ranting, and let others do it instead (there are people far more adept than I)

OBC: Bafu, Star Control 3 is out!

I don't know Matt, I was one of the first people to order it when Marcel was talking about possibly making a disc of a DT show in Europe; I sent him my money, which he happily accepted. Now all the problems with the CD writer and stuff have been apparently fixed and I STILL don't have it. I would recommend waiting till Marcel gets caught up with the people that he owes CD's to (like myself) before you order a copy for yourself.

A quick update on what's being bid so far:

autographed vinyl _Warning_ - nothing yet

vinyl _Rage For Order_ - nothing yet. A couple people pointed out to me that this is available a lot more cheaply than what I got it for (yes, evidently I got ripped off when I bought it like five years ago) so I'm dropping the price on this to $5.

vinyl Savatage _Dungeons Are Calling_ - $20.

    Dream Theater _Tragedy/Comedy_: $65

    Subconscious: $50

As I've been telling everyone, I'll keep the bidding open for a few days, so if you're still interested, let me know.
