If you find it on CD it is 99.999% chance thaat it is the release. It will
Say Lost Savatage Tracks on it...

Best Buy should have them all for $10.

Order to pick them up in. (Same order they were released in, but I guess it
    really doesn't matter).

Well, if it's a WWW link or Ftp or telnet. Just type the WHOLE address.
Like http://www.dreamt.org or ftp://oak.oakland.edu and the like.
If it's an email address you have to add mailto: at the beggining for
Netscape to recognize it. Like this mailto:kain@caribe.net
Explorer doesn't need the mailto: just kain@caribe.net
    Hope this cleared anything...

A local store has a QUEENSRYCHE boot video from the LA forum
during their last tour. It is twenty bucks and I don't know
if it is worth it. (They did play some good songs though!)
            Anybody seen it?
Also, does anybody have any HELLOWEEN, SAVATAGE, or DT (from
the I&W tour) boot or pro shot videos??!!!

Also, has anybody ordered cds from Dream Disc? Its been five
weeks and I still haven't recieved anything.

I saw the on sale dates for all of the shows. Is Ticketmaster handling the
events? I've already booked my flight (from Houston) and I would feel better if
I knew exactly who to call to get tickets. Last year, the tickets went on sale
well in advance of the shaow date. What's the deal this year?

If it's Saints and Sinners (2 CDs) get it! The sound quality on that
one is pretty good, but lacks in some areas. It has the whole
concert and rokz nadz! Cost me $40. If it's Operation: Promised
Land, be wary. They packed too much onto the CD somehow or another
and screwed it up. I bought this first and most CDs won't play it.
The first track was screwed up. It also has a skip in Silent
Lucidity and in Someone Else? Pissed me off. Those were the songs I
mostly wanted the live boot for... They're both from the same
concert so I believe the sound quality is the same. The 2CD set is
    best, though.

    Hope this helps!

Been there a few times in the past couple days. Every time

I'm hoping this is cuz Kevin's updating the page
for the new album, and thus the new album will be
    available very shortly.

anyone have any new info? cuz I'm just speculating...

and on the subject of Kevins,
I highly recommend Kevin Gilbert (the other
Kevin, I like to call him). His Thud CD is awesome. Definitely
something I think the Tori Amos or Kevin Moore (solo)

You got that right, man. I hope he's getting a shit-load of positive
feedback about them, too. He mentioned in an interview once that he
wasn't sure if he was cut out to do clinics. I guess he's changed his

Well, I guess I should have expected that. Next summer. Jesus! By then,
I'll have graduated and everything. But I have mixed feelings about that.
On the one hand, I'll have to wait longer for the album (duh!!!). But the
extra time will also give the guys a chance to re-work, re-arrange,
re-demo, re-allthatshit (what the hell do I know about recording an
album) the songs, and perhaps come out with one hell of a polished album
in the end. Also, it will give Portnoy more time to get his way with the
double-CD deal (I hope like hell that he does). And just for good
    measure: hell. There.

    Hi all

I saw Superior and Angra on Friday, and I thought some of you may be interested in my extremely subjective impressions.

Superior played a set of about 35 minutes, all of the songs coming from the 'Behind' album. They were somewhat handicapped by the lack of a keyboarder: it seems he broke his arm at one of the first gigs on the tour and had to drop out. However, the singer/keyboarder from Angra stepped in and helped out on a couple of the songs. The band played well, and I was especially impressed by Bernd's guitar work. A couple of the songs had new introductions, and these came over well. The guys didn't have much stage presence, but I guess this will come with time. My only major criticism was the singer - he seemed to be straining sometimes to hit the high notes (a lot like James really). I think he would be a lot better if he stuck to a lower range. From the way that some of the songs were greeted, I can only assume that I wasn't the only person in the crowd who owned the CD, which can only be good for the guys.

Angra played for about an hour. It was the first time that I had seen them live, but it certainly won't be the last. Very tight, great sound, good selection of old and new, tons of stage presence, a singer who can get away with singing all of those 'tight-trouser' notes live (I wasn't afraid that he was going to pop a couple of blood vessels), and a guitar duo who sometimes reminded me of the old Thin Lizzy and Wishbone Ash days. The highlight for me was the percussion introduction to and the performance of 'Carolina IV' (easily on a par with the live version of 'Kaiowas' by Sepultura). They finished with a cover of some song by Judas Priest (I think it was called Pain Killer, but it's on the second part of the Judas Priest tribute album if anybody is interested).

I got to chat with Bernd after the show, and he seemed pleased with the way the tour is going, excluding, of course, the setback with the keyboarder. The band aren't going to be making any money, but they are getting lots of exposure. There are tentative plans to go into the studio again sometime next summer. And possibly good news for Kraut Jammers: Superior may (note, only may) be teaming up with Vanden Plas and Angra for a gig in Kaiserslautern sometime next spring.

Now to the point of bands selling out. There has been lots of talk about various bands selling out lately (M*tallica, Type O Negative, Smashing Pumpkins, the list goes on). I'm not going to comment on whether any of these bands may or may not have sold out, or attempt to define a sell-out, but rather I have a simple question for the elder members of the Jam: do any of you remember the pressure that was on Led Zeppelin after they had released the runes album? Everybody was expecting something similar, and when the band put out "Houses Of The Holy" everbody started yelling 'what is this shit? Reggae? Sell-out", me included. But over the years, "Houses Of The Holy" has become my favourite Zep album of all, full of great music, and I now view it as anything but a sell-out, rather a much needed change in direction, without which the band would have become stale and just a parody of themselves. Anybody else agree? Anybody understand this? Anybody give a flying fuck?

More from me next time: it's nearly my lunch break so I'm off to frighten pensioners in the park (everbody needs a hobby).

I just got my Angra "Angels Cry" CD and it smokes! I think it's a lot better than "Holy Land" - a lot more straight-forward with touches of shredding.

Does anyone else think that they sound an aweful lot like Helloween? I noticed that it was recorded at Kai Hansen Studios, so that would probably be responsible for it...

PS - anything in particular that stands out on the Judas Priest tribute CDs? I got them but haven't taken the Angra CD out yet.

    >"Well, I do have a third arm...but I'm not using it on that section." >Mike Portnoy in response to a fan's question.

So THAT'S how he does that stuff...... :) I was always amazed at some of the stuff the esteemed Mr. Portnoy could do on a drum kit with just the standard number of human appendages. Actually, some of it would be tough even if he *did* have an extra arm. :)
