Geez, looks like Bafu has it pretty easy in his search for T-Ride.
Everybody's coming out of the woodwork with sources for this disc. Well, if
only it were so easy, here's what I'm looking for:
Mr. So & So, "Paraphernalia". It's out of print, and no one really like them
anyway except for Aaron Silverman and me....and maybe one other person on
here. So, if anybody has this and wants to part with it, or even knows where
the secret stockpile is, please, by all means, let me know. Thanks.

Excuse me, pudwhap, but that was extremely uncalled for. Does Chris
control the fact that there are a ton of ingnorant people who don't
read the jam?
I don't think so. We've been getting our updates as often as we can.
If your not happy with that then shut the fuck up and write a
personal letter to DT's management and not try to belittle the one
person we have who's gone out of his way to keep us as up to date as
he can?
If you'd actually paid attention to anything that was written in the
last week or so you would have seen the update from Mike Portnoy that
concluding the European tour that the label was gonna push their
asses into the studio. There was also an good amount of info
concerning how well the petition went over with the label execs.
As for the Marilyn Manson issue, I don't recall Chris banning people
from discussion. I don't like MM much myself, but I'm not gonna
force my opinion on someone and make an ass out of myself in front of
everyone. You've just done an impressive job of that yourself.
This message is in public defense of Chris and the spirit of the jam.

STP? That's not what I thought at all. Sounded to me more
Extremish. Then I haven't bought an STP album since the first one.
Regardless, I really liked the song. Wierd...

In all honesty (call me a dumbass if you will), I actually always
heard it as "Gather hebrews while ye may, all time is still a

Honestly! I never really cared where it came from or what it meant,

I can just see that when the new DT album comes out, there's probably
going to be some jammers (like the QR people are doing now) that will
just complain that it sucks so much and blahblahblah. Then there will be
those of us who will just love the album when it comes out (like me!)

That's very interesting... have you heard the new album?? Have you heard

Ok, since a lot of people are talking about hard to get and out of print stuff... here's my list of garbage... if you can find it, I'll pay you or trade from my "footwear" collection...
Any CD, tape or record by a metal band called Malice from the 80's... did a song called Sinister Double.
Any CD or tape from the HSAS project... Hagar, Schon, Arenson, and Shreive... I don't know how to spell the last two.
The only CD made by Saint's & Sinners...

Yes...I am just a fucking idiot. Yes, I went to the Birch Hill concert and I heard the new material. And I liked it. But my point was that I have been known to love all the material DT has put out so far. I am a die-hard fan. So it would be a good chance that I would like their next effort. And another point I was trying to make ois that whenever a new album comes out, there's always going to be complainers and people who just love the album. OK?

That's not really what you said, though. You were responding to a post that said that the new material could sound a little grungy. Therefore, it seemed reasonable to assume that you were implying that even if the album does sound "grungy" or whatever, you will still love it because it's DT. But if they change their sound significantly, then people have a right to be dissapointed. And you have a right to like it. I just think it's a little silly to claim that you will love an album you haven't heard. But you have heard it. You were at the fix-for-96 shows. So this whole argument is a complete waste of time.

Hey there once again!
I went and checked out a few bargain bins after my last post and I found Twisted Sister "Love is for Suckers" so i don't need it anymore! COOL! I also picked up Winger "Pull" for $4. It's definitely not bad at all and quite a surprise actually. I wouldn't really put it in the Glam Catagory.
BUt GlamFest begins TOMORROW! YIPPIE! oops sorry about that...more babble.
Later Phillip Cool CD of the Day, part two: Alice Cooper "Constrictor" <--my first ever Metal tape! I was but 9 at the time and I heard the song "He's Back" at the end of Friday the 13th, Pt. 6 and was like, "CoooL!" and thus my life was forever changed! dang it, I'm babbling again!

Heard some clips of this the other day (thanks bone) - good stuff, but I'm not sure it's precisely my thing. Couple more listens, and I'll let ya know.
> politely: Could someone tell what is the definition of Progressive Rock? I
In all sincerity, it depends on who you ask. Ask the 1000 people on this list, and you're likely to get 1000 different answers.
One of the things I like so much about prog is that every time I hear something, I get to decide for myself whether I consider it prog. For instance, I consider a lot of Soundgarden's (r.i.p.) stuff prog metal, and a whole lot of other people don't.
Generally, prog means odd meters, thoughtful lyrics, long songs, adept instrumentation, and anything you generally associate with stuff like old Rush, ELP, old Genesis, or Crimson. (That's what a lot of people will tell you, anyway.)
