Question -- according to the TNMS website, there will not be a Rushshow in
Baltimore. Yet the radio-man says tickets for the Baltimore show go on sale
Saturday... How can this be? *Someone's* wrong here, and I'm willing to
bet it's me!
Has anybody gotten their KTS shipments in yet? I've heard there are worries
on other lists (through a 'connection' on Digital Grafitti, the Zep-list),
something about the E-mail receipts not mentioning the discounted price, I
dunno. Fourteen? A brand new car? Puppies?! I can hardly take the
excitement.
On a less-disgusting note, I learned that a parent of one of the kids in my
3-D art class kept all her childrens' umbilical cords, which currently hang
about her dresser -- No wait, that was horribly digusting! My apologies!
Ich, things you wish you'd never heard...

Gather HEBREWS?
Isn't it "Gather ye roses while ye may..."? I may be wrong, but I don't
think he is saying 'hebrews'.
So, are we losing the 'Jam or what? I was just getting back into it.

NFDTCM = No Fucking DT Content, Maybe...
Well... I just got my Chaos Theory demo tape from Matt (keyboards in CT). Well, let's just say, it FOOKING ROCKZ NADZ... imagine how Images and Words part II would sound like... or... maybe... Lemur Voice on steroids!!!
Or even Dream Theater on steroids for that matter... the musicianship of this band is GROSS... I mean... it's ugly... technical, yet very beautiful and progressive sounding. The instrumental passages have me holding my thing in my hand and stroking it... ahhhhh...

God I love this mailing list. It has such *personality*. The Dream Theater content is minimal, but the rest is hilarious.
I also subscribe to the National Midnight Star, the Rush mailing list. It is moderated and only contains boring "Rush tingle moment" posts. Boring.
Keep up the good work, except for those flame wars...

The song mentioned as the Untitled track is called "Where are you Now" and is very good. James voice sounds amazing and if Derek would just rip his solo in the middle of the song it would rock. Take the time.

Hi All,
Ok tomorrow is the first of the big shows. My friend and I will be there. I have made a big banner on a white piece of clothe. It has the DT symbol on it with YTSEJAM written above it. The cities are listed on either side of the symbol. So we shall be the ones holding that banner up in the air every once in a while.
I will have a black ytsejam sweatshirt and ytsejam t-shirt on. Come up and say hi if you see me. Until then.......

Quickly everyone, gather all the Hebrews while you still can!!!!!! <g> OK, poor humor, but I just couldn't help it. The quote "gather ye rosebuds while ye may..." is from Robert Herrick, but I can't remember the name of the poem as for Sieze the Day... your guess is as good as mine. For more information, as to the name of the poem and where the Sieze the Day quote comes from, read the faq.

Apologies in advance. I had a shitty day, and took it out on the list. It'll happen again, but at least it'll be funny.

OK, the way Mike explained it (and I thought this explanation had found its way to the jam several times) was that the folks at East/West had not booked any studio time for the band, and wasn't going to in the forseeable future. Why is anyone's guess, but you can assume it's because they're not "trendy."
This has changed, thanks in part to the petition that was sent to the record label. Mike told me (and I know I forwarded this to the list) that the band expects to be in the studio sometime soon after returning from Europe.

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't like MM, but that's not why I went off on that part of your post. I went off on them because I don't think they're prog. Prog is a real nebulous category - there's a lot of people on rec.music.progressive that would rather not think about prog metal as being progressive.

Jeff's page was great, and the RSA page is great. The only difference is that now the page serves somewhat as the "official" voice of the band, so they really can't go off on a rant about the record label the way our personal pages can.
As for the merchandise, they're doing a great service to people that weren't able to attend the shows in December (perhaps like you), or who were there and couldn't afford to buy anything then (like me).

Harsh words from someone as obviously opinionated as I am. As you said, DT is in a lull right now (European shows notwithstanding). Let's all (myself inlcluded) ease up on *each other* a bit, and concentrate a little more on the music.

I'd actually be more willing to bet that it's the NMS. There are two big-time hella-cool Rush web pages.
1) the NMS (http://syrinx.umd.edu/rush). Great info on stuff that's already happened, but they have a real bad tendency to post rumors and half-truths regarding the future.
2) ASOF (http://www.asof.com). Less old-style content (like the FAQ, the bootleg page, etc), but *current* info is always what comes down from on high at Anthem.
Basically, it breaks down like this: If you see it on the NMS page, it might come true (it often has before). If you see it on ASOF, it already has come true.

You know... I've never said anything about WAUN... but... I must say, the song is pretty boring overall... Like someone on IRC said the other night, kinda like STP... if I wanted STP, I would buy an STP album (heaven forbid me, strike me down with holy cow dung)...

Man, this sucks. First Extreme and now Soundgarden. Who's next? Soundgarden was one of the few great grunge bands out there.

I guess Soundgarden felt that since Queensryche was trying to muscle in on their territory, they better leave.
All I can say is goodbye and good-riddance. Bands come and go, only a few become legends. I doubt Soundgarden is one of them.
