Sorry, I forgot to mention something to everyone.

I have a bulletin board on my page. It acts as a guestbook but
anyways, some dude, hey tim, emailed me and asked if i knew
anyone that wanted to buy a megadeth promo cd. I passed on the
information and just as I did, I had a brain storm...why not
make the bulletin board INTO a trading post as well. So, if
you wanna sell something metal related or whatever, your car,
sister, family, friends, explosives and so forth, I really
don't mind seeing that stuff go up. The URL's are at the
bottom of my sig, etc...Hope the idea works.

    (insert ~Rip's comments here)

Rip makes a really good point. One that is at the heart of the
reason I (and I think alot of other Jammers) read the Jam. We're here
because we love music, not just DT, but many other bands (we just talk ALOT
about DT) as well. It is stupid to argue about musical tastes because they
are completely subjective. But musical tastes are what I read this list
for... I have found a couple cool bands through this list and the people
on it. I like Manson's stuff, though I did not find it through the Jam
(found it because I am a die-hard NIN fan and MM is on the nothing label)
but I still think it is interesting stuff.

I would venture to guess "not yet." I've read that Ged's been talking
about a new studio album to follow the coming live album. Whether they'll
tour for that new album (if it gets made), who knows? But don't count
    them out yet.

Of course, that's no excuse to miss the second leg of the TFE tour. See
    ya in Montreal! :)

Again, to the guy with the radio show:
I've been thinking about that radio thing you're doing. It doesn't make
sense to play a block of Metallica every week: everyone who is gonna like
Metallica has already heard them. Everyone who likes them probably has all
their stuff. It's like this... I don't like Metallica much, but I like
Rush. So let's say....When I hear Rush on the radio, I don't even listen to
it. I've heard it all. I can play it any time I want. I got the CDs. I'm
not gonna make a point to catch "that cool show" on the radio when I know
I've got most of it on CD.

    Hi all

I had a great idea: why don't we send each other any Dream Theater content we
may want to post by private e-mail, and just use the list to slag each other
off in public. Oh, it's already been done.

I remember somebody once said Superior shouldn't have called their album
'Behind' because the anally retarded amongst us would get a kick out of it.
Well, the new Helmet album could well cause a few titters and chuckles over here
in Germany: Aftertaste translates literally to 'butt key'.

So, to continue with the musician jokes, here's one I found today that I rather
liked. Disclaimer: I don't play anything other than the fool.

A guy goes to an exotic tropical island for a holiday. As the boat approaches
the island, he hears the sound of constant drumming. When he arrives, the asks
the first native he sees when the drumming will stop. The native looks around
nervously and says "it's very band when the drumming stops". At the end of the
second day, the drumming is still going on and is getting on the guy's nerves.
He asks another native when the noise will stop. The native scurries off saying
"it's very bad when the drumming stops". After another couple of days without
sleep, our distraught traveller grabs the first native he sees, throws him to
the ground and demands "what happens when the drumming stops?". To which the
    native replied "bass solo".

    stay safe and happy listening

The following message is a courtesy copy of an article
that has been posted as well.

    Hi All,

Just got word from sources close to the band that 3 songs are done for
a new Gamma Ray single. They will release this before the new full CD
    comes out.

    The songs will be:

From Somewhere Out in Space (new Gamma Ray tune)
A song written by the new guitarist (don't know the title)
Watcher in the Sky (from the upcoming Iron Savior project)

Also the full CD will be called either "From somewhere out in space"
or "Valley of the Kings" not "Men, Martians, and Machines" as first
    suggested.

For info about the Iron Savior project check out the following:

      http://www-zeus.desy.de/~breitweg/music/ironsav/ironsav1.txt
      http://www-zeus.desy.de/~breitweg/music/ironsav/ironsav2.txt

The Iron Savior tunes kick major ass! It is going to go over very
very well in Japan and Germany (as usual *grin*).

More info as I get it. Stay cool.

Jeremy, why do you care if Marilyn Manson is talked about on the jam? You can state your opinion, but don't try and tell others what they should or shouldn't post. Half the shit on the jam is barely about music, let alone progressive rock or metal or whatever you call dt. dt is my favorite band but recently I started to really like manson as well. And I disagree that Marilyn Manson is the farthest thing from progressive that there is. I see progressive rock or metal or whatever you want to call it as anything that is very different from what we're used to musically. And Manson is just that. it's moving metal in a different direction.

and secondly, these delays with dt's new album are really pissing me off. I don't really care that there are delays, but what bothers me is that no one really knows why. the only bullshit that we hear is that 'there are internal changes at the label' or some shit like that. I don't care if it takes three years for the new album as long as we know the truth as to what is going on. and that good for nothing Red Sector A page is doing nothing. They seem to be so fucking impressed with themselves that they're the official DT page yet they're doing nothing for the fans really.

The Greasy Kid's Stuff section of the website is still very much under construction, but promises to be very cool when it's completed soon.

Printed three times a year, the newsletter features exclusive interviews, news, rare photos, tour info, merchandise info, letters and much more. There are also plans to add many new features including a GUITAR COLUMN, a LETTER FROM STEVE in each issue, and much more! We ARE adding a guitar column to future issues (yay!), as well as a personal letter from Steve in each issue, a new revamped classifieds section (members advertise FREE!), more photos (& COLOR!!!), and more. Now IS the time to jump on board, folks. If you want to keep on top of Vai news etc., GKS is the best way to do that (this e-mail list looks destined for retirement in the near future - it's just getting too hard to manage & it doesn't come close to GKS anyhow).
