Yes, that was what my post was about yesterday. That and opinions. I was
so upset by Lars' comments that I wrote almost a page on who you should
respect opinions and how I don't like all of the bands discussed on the
jam, but I don't go saying "HELL YEAH" when one of them breaks up. It
was possible the most intelligent thing I've ever written in my 17
years, but right when I was going to send it, my computer froze up and
it was lost forever. Anyway, I know you're all sick of hearing about
Soundgarden, but I have to put my 2 cents in. They weren't just some
Seattle Grunge band that uses the same three power chords over and over.
They used some odd time signatures, they had some pretty interesting
tunings, and they remained heavy almost throughout their whole career,
most notably on BMF. Room A Thousand Years Wide and Outshined are
possibly the two heaviest songs to ever come out of Seattle, and on
Superunknown, Fresh Tendril, Head Down, and Like Suicide are three
incredibly beautiful songs, while 4th Of July, Mailman, and Limo Wreck
stayed heavy. Also, you gotta love the sick-ass drum beats on Fresh
    Tendrils.

And as far as me being a "dorq" if I like the new Rÿche and if I don't
like it I can fucking shove it up my ass and go to hell, I say grow up a
little, fucknut. I might be only 17 but I can tell you that I'm years
ahead of you mentally, however old you are.

That's it. You can go back to your useless flaming now (Which IS getting
out of hand. I've thought about unsubbing a few times myself.)

I have been working on revamping my DT page, and I'm including a dozen or
so DT Real Audio files on the new one. There's a lot from the CDs (for
people who haven't heard DT to help them get into them...), as well as
a few from my bootleg collection, and also the two JP songs from
Necronomicon that are on the Mesa Boogie homepage. The ones on the page
are only .ram files which allow you to stream it over the net, but not to
save a local copy. I have the entire songs encoded and downloadable. As
it is, the site is not ready, so if you want those files, email me
privately and I'll let you know how to get them. =20

Yes, they're right there and they're so cool I wanted'em
    to me! :)
But all I got was a petrucci*.ram that has a link to some place like
    pnw://www.sonic.net/ampnerds/<file> ... I already checked the sonic.net
site and have no idea where the real RA is..
Anybody have them, or any idea to get it??
    ------------------------------

I thought more people would be interested, so I'm sending this
    to the jam. :)
With RA 3.0 I could not do that, but using RA 4.0b under Win95 I
could record the sounds in Creative Labs' Wave Studio... As the files
would be too big in .WAV format, I converted them back to .RA. But the
sound was not too good (poor connection), and sometime I'll go back
there and record them. So, if you want them for yourself, here's the
    tip. :)

Subject: DT IN BRAZIL!!! YEAH, YOU CAN BELIEVE IN THIS...
To all brazilians fans on this mailing list: DT WILL COME ON THE NEXT
MONSTERS OF ROCK!!! I just cannot believe either, but is true. I read on
the Jornal da Tarde, that DT with Tipe O Negative, Manowar, Judas Priest,
DIO, WhiteSnake and some others brazilians bands that is not confirmed,
will play on the Monsters. I didn't like this others band, cuz I don't like
the roots of Heavy Metal (like manowar), but certainly I'll be there. The
gig will happen on august 30th (it's a saturday), probably on Estadio do
Pacaembu, SP. Well, I'm very very happy about this, and I expect that DT
come again after this concert to a gig where only they will play.
    ------------------------------

WHAT??? I really would want to know where these guys get this
kind of info... (Of course, I don't read any local "rock" magazines, 'cause
they all suck.) Hmmm... If it's really true, of course I'll go to the
show, but it'll probably suck, for some reasons: 1) as it's the first
time DT comes here, and as it's common to happen in the Monsters of
Rock, they'll play for only HALF AN HOUR. Can I call that a show? 2)
It's a stadium show, I'd really like if it was in one of Sao Paulo's
theaters like Olympia or Palace. Small places are better, specially
for bands like DT. IMO, of course.

I just got Extreme's "Waiting for the punchline", a gift from a
friend. Well, a good album, not above the average. But I expected more
    from Extreme...

DT in Monsters of Rock? YESSSSS! :) I'm waiting so fucking much for this to
happen, (DT in Brazil) but in our Monsters of Rock usually all the bands
except the headliner or co-headliner get only 40 minutes of show... :(
I really wish that if DT really comes here (crossin' fingers for a schedule
agreement) they would do their own show too (which would sell-out quickly),
or else... anyone ever thought of how a 40-minute DT show would be?
    Interesting...

    Message-ID: <335207b7.16323764@n3.idirect.com>

    Hi,

I have two tickets for sale for the Rush show at Toronto's
Molson Amphitheater, June 30th at 8:00pm.

The seats are in section 402, row C, seats 1 and 2.

This is stage right (Geddy Lee's side for those of you who
have not seen the band before).

The tickets cost me $40 + $7 (Ticketmaster service charge and
sales tax) for a total of $47 Canadian dollars each ($32.90 US).

I am not looking to make a profit here, only to recoup my
losses as I cannot attend both shows as I had originally hoped.
Therefore, the tickets will be sold, only as a pair, for $94 Canadian
or $65.80 American. Lesser offers will also be considered.

The ONLY acceptable forms of payment will be cash or money
    order.

Please direct all serious inquiries to rsterry@idirect.com.

Once the tickets have been sold, I will post an additional
message to the newsgroup indicating this and an e-mail to those of you
    who have made offers.

            Thanks for your time!!

    Cheers,

    Rick

    Hi!

I just came back from Munich. I saw the shows in Nuernberg and Munich and I
tell you, the band is in top form. The setlist is the one we know from the US
shows, so no big surprise there, but everyone is having a great time.

BTW, I did NOT hear James saying something about a double album. Actually we
talked with Derek in Nuernberg and he said something about a single album of
60 minutes followed by an EP with Metropolis pt. 2 and live tracks. Well,
    we'll see.

Any news about the show in Milan? Mike dislocated a finger during Metropolis
in Munich! I don't know how he managed to do this! And this maniac continues

Hrm. We've got a verification of the double album now, BUT what if James was meaining the coming EP as the double thing? I dunno. Maybe he meant that two albums will be out or whatnot. Mebbe we could have someone going to a coming show to ask for certain if they get the chance.

BTE, Enchant's touring with DT aren't they? How'd those guys do? I'd like to hear. I love those guys. :) Get a boot for me. :) "Idle hands are the Devil's advocate. Hey folks-

I think I mentioned this about a month ago but I'm doing a psychology experiment (for my class) on music. And one of the songs that I want my subjects to hear is a really heavy DT monet. Right now I'm playing a part from "lie" (3:20-5:20). That's the heaviest DT I could think of. If anyone has differeing opinions, please let me know (thru email). I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Sorry folks. My spelling is terrible. I meant to write "the heaviest moment of DT" in the title.

Hello all. I was a Best Buy and found Queensryche: Promised Land enhanced cd. Cool thing. What a surprise. I didn't think there'd be any left in print.

Okay, back to my original point. I found a Silent Man single in the rack. If you don't have one and want one, e-mail me privately at gsrockr@stratos.net and we'll see what we can do.

Scott Cook, e-mail please. I am searching for another rarity.

Well, it's not exactly a spam, and it's not exactly off-topic...

Anyway, the Dreamstates web page has been completely overhauled and has a new home as well. The old URL (www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/3781) will be active for another week or so while I decide on a new page topic.

The new URLs are www5.gmsnet.com/dreamstates (active NOW) and www.dreamstates.com (active sometime near Wednesday -- I hope...)

As always, I welcome any comments or suggestions!!

    Susan
