     (although, there are times on the Turnpike when you pass one of those

    Alright this is my first post, so I'll do the best I can to make it a
    worthy one. On No Doubt, I'm not gonna shoot my mouth off and say they
    suck, cuz they don't. I may not like them, but I don't think that
    they're trendy and have no talent, it's just not the sort of music
    I like. And on the Type O concert, I've been wanting to see TON for a
    looong time ever since I heard October Rust (fave cd of 96, btw), and
    hopefully, I'll get to check em out at Ozz-fest this summer, which is
    set to kick some major ass.

    Well, "platinum world wide" just means that a million people in the entire world bought your album, as opposed to a million people in the US. So technically, if you can a huge album in Europe, for example, you could bill yourself as a "platinum band" or that you have a "platinum record" without necessarily having sold much in the US.

    On freeways: I'd have to say that the weirdest section of freeway I've ever driven on is just outside of Oakland, CA. Imagine this: The sign on the side of the road says 580 west and just under it 80 east. Imagine also that you are heading roughly NORTH at the time! Of course, on the other side all three conditions are reversed.

    Try the Freeway system in Minneapolis. On 35W there are junctions where you can catch a freeway going one direction but not the other. I lived there in the late 80's and have been there several times over the last ten years and I always get lost.

    Even thought the interchanges suck, Minneapolis still kicks ass!

    I asked this question on the jam myself a couple months ago and was told either 200,000 or 250,000. I can't remember exactly.

    I read an article in Entertainment Weekly where they talked about album sales. I didn't know this, but if you release a multiple CD set then it multiplies total sales by RIAA standards.

    Example: A double cd only needs to sell 250,000 USA copies to go gold. So when you hear that a disc goes gold or platinum, it may not mean exactly what it seems.

    This CD kicks ass. Mike Bahr has rewarded us for our patience (my checkbook says Sept. 9th!). The sound quality is about the same as Acoustic Dreams, which is about as good as you can expect from a bootleg. Some songs are chopped at the beginning or end, but I don't care, we accept that on PMU, don't we?

    6:00 - not as good the version on AD, keys are missing during the chorus section - I didn't realize how important they were in that part.

    Cover's medley - rocks!!! A book-end to the medley on ACOS. I never thought of IF as a sing-along type song, but that's exactly what James tries to do in the chorus. Derek is mixed pretty high in the outro - I like it.

    RTK - I hadn't heard this one before so it'll take some more time to sink in I guess.

    ACOS - Incredible sound quality. Near perfect rendition of the studio ACOS, but I'll never like it as much as the Subcon version. My fav part is always gonna be the transition at 10:16.

    LWY - Johnny P in blues mode. Kinda reminds me of Gary Hoey's 'Fade to Blue'. Every note counts, except for maybe a couple at 3:25.

    LtL demo - Not as different as CiaW or Oliver's Twist, but still real interesting to hear how the song evolved. The part at 8:02 is incredibly jazzy, what the hell were they thinking??

    BTW, my copy is #59.

So since Prince's last was a 3cd @ 180 minutes, it only sold 666,666 copies and it's double platinum.
