No one has the completed lyrics to Metropolis II. This *includes* Dream
Theater. The reason that the song isn't listed as one of the ones for the
new album (and it says this quite clearly on the homepage) is that they
are only including songs that they have demoed, and Metropolis has the
music finished, but not the lyrics. Mike told D-man that it was 30
minutes. Derek told me that it was 25 minutes. Either way, it's *long*!

Can anyone help me find a place to get one of these? I know that Saints And
Sinners is available at KTS but this is the only one I want from them and
there is a minimum order of 5. State Of Art is one I'm dying for but haven't
found anywhere. Operation: Promised Land is available through UMDO but I
haven't got a response from them yet and its only a single CD (not to
mention I don't have a track listing for this one). HELP!!!!!

    Don Compton

PS. Anyone out there I traded with, if you want to team up with me and can
only find 4 CDs you want from KTS, I'm willing to get the QR one but only if
    I traded with you before.

Hi. It's damon. I've been reading the reviews of Mike Bahr's stuff, and
me, being the poor bastard I am, have only Subconscious on tape. I don't
mind, I like it, it's nice to have. I also have one of the Instrumental
CDs on tape as well, it starts off with Afterlife, It hink. My question
to you, my fellow ytsejammers, is can anybody possibly make tape copies
of Mike Bahr's DT and Rush stuff? Maybe some of the other DT instrumental
CDs and whatnot? I don't necessarily want the CDs, just to hear these
things. I'll settle for tapes. Email me personally.

Also, to anybody who's done a trade with me and is wondering what
happened to my end of the bargain, namely the guy who copied the Ivanhoe
tapes for me, and Gohost@aol.com, Chad, finneus Gauge's manager, if he is
still on the list, I have been so damn busy, I promise to get the tapes I
owe you to you. I feel really bad, I don't want to be known as a bad
trader or anything, butthis semester has been so busy, and I've been sick
a lot and ... well, you know the deal. ANybody who knows me well enough
from IRC should be able to tell you that I am honest, I don't like to
screw people, since I've been given the shit end many a time. So bear
    with me a little longer.

Next, due to the disgusting amount of mail I get each day, with the
hundreds of mailing lists I am on, I am wondering if there's any way of
streamlining the mail I get. I find that I don't read much news on
ytsejam, but I really don't want to unsubscribe. I did that with other
band mailing lists and now, don't even know what's going on with them. Is
voices or metropolis still up? Digest form, maybe? Does
alt.music.dream-theater provide any information? I mean 200 plus messages
a day is too much for any human being. What do you all think? Thanks in
    advance.

    Hiya,

I recall reading about the original version of "The Mirror" as being about
10 minutes long, before it was tagged along with "Lie", and that it appeared
on some sort of demo/promo item (that Neil Elliot got a copy of?). I'm
surprised this version hasn't turned up on a bootleg somewhere. Anybody ever
    heard this version before?

Well,I got my "state of art" from the CD Cellar <cdcellar@dnaco.net>. But
I would highly recommend that you NOT order from this place. After
getting the QR boot, from him, I ordered a Rush boot and it took about
eight months for him to finally say that he didn;'t have any in stock and
that he would send me something else. SO I ordered some videos from him.
My mom told me last week that the tapes came. So I'm urging you and every
other jammer to saty away from thus guy. I hope he goes out of busniess.

YES!~! these guys RRRRROOOCK. its primarily devin townsend, steve vai's
front man for sex and religion. he simply goes apeshit. i believe the
latest release is called "city," i've heard a bit of it so far, and it kills
me. the other album released was "heavy as a heavy thing" the name being
    difinitive of the music.

    >Mike told D-man that it was 30 minutes. Derek told me that it was 25
    minutes. >Either way, it's *long*!

i think at one drum clinic, on a more accurate note, mike stated the
material ran about 27 minutes to the bone. so depending which way you like
to round, 30 or 25, it kind of meets half way.

I make that drive daily. It's my commute. And Lord, is it confusing....I
mean, I know where I'm going NOW, but it wasn't until I moved here that I
had any idea what the hell was going on. In a span of something like three
miles, I'm on four different freeways. Urban planning....

But that ain't actually the worst street sign I've seen around here. In San
Francisco, on one of the east-west streets (don't rememer which one),
there's a big ol' sign saying "3 Left Lanes to Bridge." Now, you're driving
just about AT the Bay Bridge (the one connecting SF to Oakland) and what the
sign is actually trying to tell you is that is you're in one of the three
left lanes, you'll be put on a road that, if you take it all the way back
across town (the opposite direction to the one you're currently going),
something like 5 miles or so, you'll get to the Golden Gate bridge (which
connects SF to Marin County to the north). First time I ever drove around
in San Francisco, I saw that sign. No wonder no one has a car around here.

Oh...sorry. I'll try to salvage the message. Has anyone actually seen the
new John Myung video? The review of it sounded like it wouldn't be a bad
investment, but I was kinda curious if anyone had any feedback on it. I'm
not really in a frame of mind to get instructional videos at this point, but
I was wondering exactly how good it is.

Here's one for all of you Metallica fans out there. I have in my
possession a copy of the $9.98 CD : Garage Days Re-revisited that I am
willing to part with. It is long out of print and has pretty decent resale
value as a collector's item. It's in great condition and since I picked it
up for $20, I'd be willing to sell it for slightly more. Anyone who is
interested, drop me an email. If I get more than one or two replies, I'll
make it auction style and let you know what the high bid is.

    Greetings ye 'jamanoids...

A local store is having a spring cleaning sale and they're an authorized Korg dealer, so I thought I'd go check out the Trinity and find out what all the fuss is about...

Sheesh. This thing can make even me, with my limited knowledge of keyboards and keyboard playing, sound good. *drooooool*

Now trying to resist blowing half my current credit limit on it....*snicker*

Hey, a roommate and I finally solved the age old dilemma 'bout what happens in such a case. You get an irresistible force-sized hole in the immovable object.

    :)

    Cheers, Phil

State of the Art is not the complete show. I didn't check out the tracklist for S & S very closely, so it might also be cut short. I'm sure that the one I have (State ...) is from the radio broadcast, since the exclusions are mixed throughout (commercial time, probably)

It's still a fun show, and I was there! :)

Hey, can someone email me privately with the details on the ozz-fest? i.e. which bands are playing (again, I saw it once) dates if you have them, etc? Thanks. My roomie and I want to see Type O and Drain again. Speaking of drain, what a collection of 3 beautiful, talented women and a guitarist, eh? Well, the guitarist has talent, too. :)

    :-)

Just pick the right words :-) I've been writing a lot of right justified messages lately, for several reasons. First of all, it takes a bit longer to write an email, because you've got to pick the right words to make all the sentences the same width. You'll actually have some time to think before you post ! Maybe some of you should consider trying it too :-) A lotta messages on this list look like they were written within a matter of seconds. And usually the contents reflects that. Also, a lot of posts contain bad grammar and spelling errors. That's ok if English isn't your first language, of course (I'm Dutch, btw).

When you try to use correct spelling and grammar and try to make your post look half decent, that immediately changes the way the content of your message comes across, provided you don't use any profanities :-) Some might even forgive you for posting such a boring off topic post like the one you're reading right now :-)

The point I'm trying to make is, re-read your message before you post it to the Ytsejam. Try to convince people that you actually put some thought into it first :-) You also might wanna try to see your post from the reader's point of view. If you think your message will unnecessarily piss people off, just don't post it !

See Jim, no extra spacing anywhere in my message ! It's actually kinda fun, writing messages like this. Wouldn't it be cool if we all posted this way for a while ? (Ok, maybe not)
