    Hey Guys,

Just checked out the Symphony X site that was mentioned on the 'jam. I
already am not a big fan of their music so I'm not judging their music on
image (IMHO, their contributions to the Rush Tribute were excessive and
tasteless), but IMHO, these guys look like they came right off the set of a
bad B-rate pirate film. Guys, let's get out of the middle ages! Things
just weren't so groovy back then. SO...while image isn't everything, it
reassured my disinterest in this band.

    Long live DT

P.S.--I'm interested in slightly more mellow prog. I've heard that Echolyn
and Spock's Beard would be good choices. If anyone on the jam would be
willing to tape me some tracks before I seek out any CDs, contact me
    privately. Thanks!

    Download Spock's Beard samples at:

    http://www.altura.com/jordanz/spocks_beard/

And Echolyn's "As The World" can typically be found at used CD stores. If
it's a cool store, they'll let you listen before you buy.

Hrm... That's too bad, I think Symph X is the greatest thing since,
well, since the Buttered Cat Theory. :) (Now this is an interesting
theory and I haven't tried it yet, but I hear it works).

What is a commonly know fact about cats? Yes, they always land on
their feet. And also, it is also factual that bread always falls
buttered side down (refer to Murphy's Law Theorem). Now if you can
attach a slice of buttered bread to the back of a cat and drop
    them... They FLOAT!

I was told to make sure that the mass of the bread be equal to that
of the cat (Yah, that's alot of bread), so use a heavy bread like
Rye. Otherwise, they don't counter each other and the cat floats
down to the ground. Also, it is important that the cat can't eat the
bread and thus free itself. I guess they always try to do that.

Attach a good radio control fan from Radio Shack and you can make
your cat float around the house. :)

and forbid the Devil into thy lustful desires!"

If anyone goes there and downloads the .aiff from DWoT, don't freak out when
you hear a loud Japanese voice at the beginning of the song. That's not the
singer; it's just an announcer of sorts saying the name of the song or
    something.

    Ahoy mates,

My Lemur Voice "Insights" CD has arrived from Knights of the Round CD
Kingdom www.knightsoftheround.com and I had no trouble with their
service... I purchased by check and it took about 3 weeks.... considering i
had to mail it in .... wait for it to get there.... the check had to clear
before shipping... and it had to get here again.... so I give them a high
rating and encourage business with these guys... I'll be buying from them
    again most definately....

Hi this morning I ran through old tapes and especially my big favourite one, the Music Meant to be Heard-demo of Kevin Moore. Ooh, how I love this, especially these days when I'm in a really good mood. Don't know, but perhaps it helps you to stand the complete melancoli.

However, I'd like to find more music in this vein, but I'm unable to get any help from my local friends, but maybe someone here can help. Please, do!

And by the way, if someone still has an unplayed first version of it I'm eager to upgrade mine, since it is almost broken, due to over-extended listening.

Next question: Does anyone have any comments on Black Jester? I heard a clip of them on the Heady Metal sight and thought it was pretty good. I have talked to two people who say the stuff is great but the singer just can't cut it. Any comments?

I can't speak for Dokken, but as a huge KX fan, I would be waaaaay disappointed if they put out an album sounding anything like "hitnf." KX at this point in Queensryche's descent are sooo much better on every level. Vocals are better. Guitars are better. Drums and bass are...you guessed it...better. Don't get me wrong, I loved earlier Queensryche, but in my opinion they have never approached the pure ground-breaking genius of King's X. Maybe a lot of alternative thieves have stolen some of the KX sound but they can't approach the soul. If I go back in time to around 1987/88 and remember the first time I heard "Out of the Silent Planet" or "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska," I remember staring at the boom box (in those days, I was poor) in disbelief, and wondering WHO in the hell these guys were, and WHAT in the hell they were doing. They were so ahead of their time. I would never consider the regression of QR to be on any comparable level with KX. Granted, QR did some things with "Rage for Order" that were equally ground-breaking and ahead of its time, but I just can't put them on a KX level anymore.

    GO WINGS!
