I'm tired of not getting any replies from Chris Ptacek, who said he'd
provide one for the tribute discussion.
I have all this stuff ready to go, it's a shame for this to die at this
stage. Can someone help me with information about doing a mailing list? I
haven't the faintest idea. There really is way too much traffic for me to
handle, I wouldn't be able to keep it up at all. No way.
Skadz? Anyone?
Such a pity for a tribute to die from lack of communication.

Well, the only Fates that i did have ws perfect symettry and i wasn't at all
impressed by it, mainly because of the vocals but I got ...Grey because of
all the positive remarks I heard and I think its a great CD.

After a lot of work, I managed to get all of my records in order, so this

since last week. There is still one Medium shirts, 6 Large, and 61
XL remaining.
I did manage to make the money to make the final payment in time for the
shirts. From this point on, the shirts will be going towards paying back
my loan for the downpayment. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered,
and all of you who plan to.
I would just like to take this chance to thank everyone who has
been so supportive of the shirts... It's nice to know that my work on
this project is appriciated. And special thanks to Chris Hailey for the
amazing artwork.

Details
=======
The Ytsejam shirts are two sided prints. The front of the shirt features
a *full color* raytraced graphic from Chris Hailey in Washington. The
graphic is a beautifully done scene with the Majesty logo floating behind
a group of marble columns on a tile floor with a wide view of space
visible behind.
The back of the shirt is in a solid light blue color. The majority
of the design is a huge Majesty logo, framed by the Dream Theater title
at the top, the mailing list address on the sides and "Ytsejam" at the
bottom. Below that is "Internet Mailing List" between two more Majesty
logos.
The current lot of shirts is 217 (they printed up more than I asked
for, but I'm not complaining). If those run out, and demand is high
enough, I may run another with a slightly different design.

Pricing
=======
The cost of the shirts is $16 each. The shirt is damn close to concert
quality, so $16 is a steal (last Dream Theater concert I was at charged
$23 for a shirt!). If you require a size larger than XL, please let me
know ASAP so I can get those orders in. There is an additional $1 charge
for each size increase (ie. XXL = $17). If you are picking the shirt up
from me directly the $16 price stands. If you can't get the shirt in
person, you can order one through the mail for $20 to cover shipping.
I spoke with the people at the post office and I've decided to set the
shipping prices outside the USA at $9, for a total of $25. I realize
this is damn expensive for a tshirt, and I'm sorry. If individual prices
are signifigantly less expensive, I will gladly return a check for the
balance.

The shirts are open to mail ordering now. Mail orders will be shipped
out every Wednesday via Priority Mail for US orders, and airmail for
all others. Checks and money orders will be cashed before the order goes
out, most likely on Monday. So far, mail orders have gone well, the only
problem I have had has been with the bank, not the post office, so don't
worry about your orders. All US orders are insured for the amount paid
for the shirts and shipping, and insurance on airmail depends on the
country and other aspects.

I bought the new QR on saturday, plus I got a bonus disc with

I just read Mike Bahr's extnsive comparison between TSM and 1001 Nights, and
I dig it. My question is, how does it fit in the whole 'A mind Beside
Itself'? I mean I've always seen TSM as an answer to all the problems and
confusion in Voices. Was it that JP found thge answer to all those doubts he
was having in that book? Sorry if this has already been discussed.

the notes come out, and you can hear it when you play it back. Any body know

I am relatively new on this list and I thought I can offer my record of the
Kassel 95 Show. A friend of mine taped it for me with Sony DAT. It was the first
time they played the new acos live in Germany, maybe the first time ever. After

I decided to POST instead of e-mail in order to balance (if that IS the
key) the excessive posting of stuff that should be taken to e-mail :)
How about we collectively agree to allow, say, one flame and it's
associated reply, before requiring it to be taken to e-mail. I say one
to allow for it to be publicly established that it is, in fact, a flame.
Then again, go for it, if you need to let it out. I've just recently
discovered that, in digest mode, there's a key I can use to skip over a
post without deleting the whole digest. The particular key is left as an
exercise for the reader (unless, of course, it has been used to engage
this post :)

And speaking of DT content, I have some observations and question.
Hopefully there's some interest in this kind of DT related stuff :)
I've heard Awake for quite some time now, but recently bought it and was
curious: Did 6:00, IF or LSOAD get any radio play around other parts of
the country (pick a country, ok?)? I feel that there are two sounds off
of this album that are marketable on radio: the heavier prog metal one
and the more pop groove metal one. Feel free to substitute your own
phraseology if you can't accept these.
Notice the songs I've chosen are all 5 or so minutes long. They could be
edited for radio, if neccessary, though they're not that much over the
legal limit :)
Heavier Prog Metal:
Around here (Boston), I only remember hearing CIAW when the album
debuted. It's a great song, but from a radio airplay perspective, 6:00
might have done better as it has more accessible riffs/hooks (the main
guitar riff, the keys/bass/drums at the beginning during "I know about
the Honor" and during "Inside...", the familiar phrases such as "bases
to cover", "blowing my cover", "don't cut your losses", "answer the
call"). It is the first song, after all :)
Pop Groove Metal:
This one really has me confused. IF and LSOAD are chock full of hooks
and neither of them, to my knowledge, got any airplay around here. And
they both, especially LSOAD, have got so much going for them in the way
the mood of the sound complements the mood of lyrics.
Must I crank up the 1KW Linear Amp and stomp over local radio (till the
boys in the white van triangulate on my position, that is)?
Any thoughts on the above?
Forgive me if this has been discussed to death. What hasn't?
