    To all Vancouver Jammers,

(The few that there are) If any of you are planning on going
to see the Bruce Dickinson/Adrian Smith/Accident of Birth
concert on the 28th at Studabakers, email me. So far, I've got
a decent little group together and maybe we can all hook up or
somethin like that. Nice cheap tickets too. And for that matter,
anyone going to the Vancouver Indy the following day (like me)
and/or the other days, lemme know, hang out at the track.

Anyone have an RA file of YNM?

YNM rocks! caught myself singing it while at work the other day. can't
seem to shake the tune from my thoughts and wouldn't want to. i can hardly
wait to hear the CD. just a simple request: maybe that 25M wav file can
be converted to 44kHz (vice 22k) with a higher bitrate???

Sorry about the lack of musical content.

Could anybody please email me if they have had problems/experience
    with Ibanez Lo-Pro tremolos.

Your wisdom will be much appreciated.

Sarlac. He said Sarlac. It's a merciless living pit lined with teeth and
tentacles. If you fall into it you are slowly digested over a million
billion years. It's excruciatingly painful and escape is impossible.

George Lucas thought of it after reading one of your posts.

    Greetings ye 'jamanoids...

Hm, seeing all the fuss about Fates playing here and Angra possibly coming to there and so on has made me wonder: is there anyplace at all in Georgia that would actually support a prog band?

Living in the South is absolute hell sometimes because, aside from Rush, nobody around here is willing to give any prog music a second listen. I've never seen DT in concert, nor Fates, nor Angra, and was just curious (if there are any other Georgia-dwelling jammers out there -- you listening, Pellaz?) where DT or Fates or whoever might play. Now that the Omni's trashed, I'd have to guess the Fox Theatre...

Side note: It's fun having a large collection of CD's. Coming to work with seven or eight different ones a day for weeks on end is really making my coworkers wonder when I'm going to run out of music...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Bafu: That bit about the Thalhead on the loose was great. Keep 'em comin, man.

Let me add my voice to the small (but vocal) group that's keeping away from all the new material till the album's released. I don't *want* to hear the new songs in a format that's been compressed, twisted, forced into 3 channels, and played through a tinny pair of computer speakers. I'll wait till the album's released, THEN I'll blast it through my stereo.

I find all the complaints about YNM's sound quality and mixing to be rather amusing. I mean, what'd you expect? It's like expecting a bootleg to be studio-quality...(woops, sorry, Mike, no offense meant)...err, I mean like expecting a EP-speed videotape dub to be as high-quality as the original release. Not gonna happen.

Trust the band; I think all of them have too much pride in their work to let a piece of trash be released to their hordes of crazed fans. (They know we'd flatten them like a FUCKING PANCAKE, BOYEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!).

    Cheers, Phil

you know for all you whiner's about desmond child's input on ynm, i would really like for you to imagine the absurdity: im very sure that when jp was writing it that if desmond's feelings on the song and it's meaning that jp would have agreed to change anything. could you imagine the same guy that wrote the mindblowing songs that we all love said "Sure, Desmond....i would love it for you to fuck up the song....no really your songwriting skills are far better than mine.....how about laying down some guitar tracks?"

i mean come on people like some jammers have said in so many words: USE YOUR FUCKING MIND!!!

and yes i am in the crowd that doesnt care what dt puts out because i will own it and love it because damnit this world is falling into (ummmmmmmmm heehehee...) the realm of just following their feelings on almost everything but not using their damn mind.

personally i think ynm rocks (just like everything dt has put out and anything they _will put out_ e.g. their first country, rap, folk, reggae.....)

    the album's gonna rock folks:

MP has been working out with Arnie JP has been bench-pressing MP. recent test results have shown him to have grown an extra set of balls for some reason JM is learning to sign DS still upset from not getting his debut star role in "Shine" but rests easy at night knowing he can play faster with his toes than that damn guy. JL well what can be said...the guy sung his first operatic (sp?!?) note when the doctor smacked him on the ass. all the male caribou within a 5 mile radius seemed to be missing something after that day. today he simply commands worlds and hearts with his voice. in his spare time he is a ringmaster

    Aw fuck...

Either I can't write or some of you can't read. I never said YNM sucks... well, ok, I did, but I didn't write that because it's too commercial or something.

What I felt was, and now read carefully, that the original demoversion was simpler, and for that reason more accessible (better). I thought that the final version became too complex for a radio single! ;-) And I thought the new chorus doesn't fit at all.

I really tried hard, and now I think I finally managed to get used to the new version. It's more catchy as I first thought, and as I said, DT did their best to rearrange Child's version, however that sounded, back to a DT song.

Hey Mark, what's this shit about Lines... as the first single? Did I ever say I wanted that? Please read my posts more carefully, even the stupid ones ;-)

To all those who dislike wah-guitar-sounds: You might have a problem with the new album. JP always used the wah-pedal, but I think he did even more on the new material. I like it, it let's the guitar "speak" in a way.

U2 seems to be another big influence on this album, even though they left out the most U2-ish songs. There's a problem for me, because I dislike U2, and I generally don't want to see DT just copying another band. You could hear other influences, like Pink Floyd on LITS and Trial Of Tears, or even some UK!?

Anyway, though this album will be very different from their previous albums, it's still DT. And I'm glad it is...

    >NOW, LET'S STOP TALKING ABOUT THE FUCKING YNM SONG, >PRODUCTION AND 1'S AND 0'S - OR ELSE........

The first time for months this list is about DT again and this guy immediately starts complaining. Go figure.

    Hello people,

I have just returned from one of the greatest shows I've seen in a LONG time and wish to praise the glory that is FATES WARNING.

To start with I wasn't sure what to think of APSoG when I first got it...I am now convinced it is a masterpiece. It is the FASTEST 55-minute song I've ever heard; and LIVE it all meshes wonderfully into one continous journey through pleasant shades of gray's with varying intensities. Ohhh how my love for all that is FATES WARNING has grown immensely since seeing them just hours ago at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury, CT!

Tight?!?!? "Tight" isn't strong enough a word to describe what I saw; truly amazing. The band was in GREAT spirits (glad to see it since I've been reading about some horror shows here and there...) I even caught Jim Matheos crack a smile here and there! Joey Vera kicks ass (cool prescence and great backup vocals!). Alder was dead on and hit every note in sight (including EVERYTHING on "Eleventh Hour") and Ed Roth was great too (I would have loved to hear some shred stuff from him cuz he tears up the keys on IMPELLITTERI)..and ohhhh yeah, by the way, MARK ZONDER has 4 invisible arms (in addition to the visible 2)! I kept screaming "ZONDER is God" but I think everyone already knew that :-)

In honor of my musical elation with FATES WARNING I'm posting my "IGoD" .sig twice in a row.

Why twice you ask? Because once is not enough!

All Hail FATES WARNING!!!!! Support them and see them as many times as you can!

cheers, Carlo (aka Fates, aka YtseMatheos)
