Yeah! And your mom reads Cracked magazine!

    > Have fun at the bookstore...and you call yourself a fan.

But I AM a fan! Who the hell are you to tell me I'm not a fan?! I got WDADU on vinyl 'cause compact discs are for morons! I hated I&W and Awake, 'cause DT sold out big time with that prog shit! In fact, I stopped liking DT right after I bought WDADU! Gimme Bad 4 Good over DT any day of the week! But FUCK YEAH, I'm DT's biggest fan!!

You know, Jai John actually *does* have WDADU on vinyl. And I think he even got it signed by the band. Lucky stiff. Almost as lucky as John Lambrose...

Yeah, tell that to the people of Fantasia. I'm sure Atreu would back you up no problem, chief.

Hi everyone, Okay, this is my attempt at trying to get this list back to normal. Well, I'm trying to get everyone to put their knives away from my throat. ;-)

    > CD track listing: 1. New Millennium (8:20) 2. You Not Me (4:58) > 3. Peruvian Skies (6:43) 4. Hollow Years (5:53) 5. Burning My Soul (5:29) > 6. Hell's Kitchen (4:16) (Instrumental - made up of old middle of > "Burning....") 7. Lines In The Sand (12:05) (featuring guest vocals by Doug Pinnick > of King's X) 8. Take Away My Pain (6:03) 9. Just Let Me Breathe (5:28) > 10. Anna Lee (5:51) 11. Trial Of Tears (13:07) Hmm, for you all people who think this album is going to be DT's sell-out album. Just take a couple for a couple of seconds to get blood back into brain. You could just look at the times, and, know that this isn't going to be a Bon Jovi band thing. I mean an instrumental? Doug Pinnick? Come on, jerky! > Unfortunately - due to manufacturing restrictions, it is possible (but not > confirmed) > that the cassette version may be shorter. (as was the case with "Awake")

Anybody have any guesses as to what might be cut? It might be Trial Of Tears. That would make the total time about 65 minutes. Is that short enough? How long was the Awake tape?

    > The Japanese release will most likely have a bonus CD containing 1 or 2 > extra songs. (the demos will be used for extra tracks...nothing else was > recorded during the album's sessions....)

Anyone know what other songs were recorded but were not on the track list above?

    > The 1st single to go to American Rock radio will likely be "Burning My > Soul". > It will probably be serviced approximately 2 weeks prior to the album's > release > (figure the 2nd week in September)...so start calling your local station!

Hmm, anyone know why that YNM is already a promo single and BMS hasn't been, yet? > Cover artwork was done by the legendary Storm Thorgerson who has done all > of the classic Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin covers.

Sorry I was born in the 70's but I don't remember much of those 8 months. :) What covers did this guy do?

    > We are scheduled to play 3 or 4 Headlining shows in South America in the > middle > of September, and then if all goes as planned...we'll begin the world tour > starting in America sometime in October...

Do any of the guys in South America know where they'll be playing? Or more importantly do any of you guys have DAT's? :D Because I'm guessing that first show is going to be a real collector's item! Paging Mikr Bahr! ;-)

Ok, I hope *THAT* empties the bitching stack. Now, some serious comments:

I din't like YNM. I don't know what will happen with the rest of the album, though. When Counterparts came out, I hated "Nobody's Hero", but loved the rest of the album... sooooo... let's wait until FII comes out.

I for one have not had a chance to hear it yet (I know shoot me), but I do recall when DT had "Lie" on the net WAY before the album came out...most didn't like it much at first and became VERY sceptical...then those of us that are still here supported it and if we didn't like the first listen...gave it a few more. Moral of the story...There isn't one...it's DT have some faith in the band you say you are a big fan of or leave those of us who are ENTHUSIASTS alone and spend your time elsewhere. :)

I just joined the JAM, and I've been keeping up with all that everyone has had to say about DT's new song. I can't believe all the shit that everyone is giving each other over it! I really don't want any part of it (being that I haven't heard it yet myself), but I'd just like to say that nothing should be said of DT until the WHOLE album comes out. But to completely change the subject, has anyone heard of Seventhsign? Anyone have any of their albums? This is a great prog metal band from Albuquerque, NM and I can't find any of their albums :(

Or, if you really want to know the straight skinny, get off your lazy butt :) and drive down to the Old Savage Mill in Savage Maryland.

Go inside and seek out a store called Of Sound Mind. It's the only store in the place that doesn't specialize in chick stuff or old Happy Meal toys. It is the best record store in the Balto/Wash/N.Va area. Take lots of money or a credit card.

Go inside the store and go to the "Progressive Metal" section. Pick out Angels Cry, Holy Land, Freedom Call, and Holy Live or whatever is in stock. Take your $100 to the counter.

The guy there is named Chris Lamka. He's always there. He lives there. He has a bed hidden behind the jazz LPs on the floor at the back wall.

Tell him your favorite band in the whole wide world is Angra and ask him if he's heard anything about them coming to the US... :)

Then smile and go home to tell us the details.

It was still just in the planning stages when I was there in June so I don't know. What I do know is that Chris is the Financier/Organizer/Promoter/etc of the previously mentioned event.

    I will be there.

PS. MHOOYNM - My Humble Opinion of You Not Me

This is a fine example of a band stretching out in attempts to achieve a greater measure of commercial success (not always a bad thing you purists) without sucking. I think its a good thing; maybe I'll be able to talk my wife into going with me to the show now.

I just picked up Maiden's Raising Hell video today. Pretty cool. The horror illusions in it are actually kinda funny :). I kinda dig it. I noticed in the credits that they use Cacophony's "Go Off" as background music during some of the illusions. I also picked up Dead Poet's Society :). I also got my letter of acceptance to graduate school at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville for the Fall semester today. One bad thing happened, though. I noticed my copy of I&W skips really bad during Metropolis. Eh, maybe I can snag another one if it doesn't stop :).

<< Pull Me Under (even though I never would have classified it as radio friendly) received quite a bit of airplay, and is the sole reason many of us bought I&W, and subsequently joined this list. >>

Preach on, brother. I heard this song once and loved it! Then the radio guy never told me who played it. Then the jerk never played the song again. Could've been Clouds of Thunder for all I knew; the words eluded me at the time. A couple years later I was searching through a BMG catalog and DT I&W was there with Pull Me Under listed under it. I said screw it and ordered the album, thinking that just might be the song. And it was, hallelujah! Now I'm DT fan for life! All because I heard one song on the radio once.....

Maybe my (lengthy - sorry about that) story is not the norm, but I doubt it! Radio airtime is what we want if DT is to sell albums and make some more! Hell, with all the material they have, and if FII successful, they could have a new album next year! Now THAT would be something.
