Personally I don't think the members of the band read this list. They
might see parts of digests from time to time, but I don't think they're as
dedicated to keeping up with the Ytsejam as a lot of folks think they are.

Unlike those muting devices made from elastic straps or MICHAEL. ANGELO.'s
clamp-down model, with glazed donuts there are no mechanical apparati to

yea, but did they WRITE the song for Radio? Does any band? I think that
when a band writes a song for Radio, they've sold out. YNM like you said
is the most Radio Friendly song... They probably picked this out after the
album was written, and it was most likely the Record Label. Even though I
am involved in Radio, and have been with DT since WDADU, most people didn't
know about them til PMU (radio single) or CIAW (MTV Video before
Headbanger's Ball died). The object of the Record company is to sell
records... they really don't give a shit about the band...Unless they sell
records, so they will plug the songs that they think will break the band.
People will hear YNM, and think "hey, this is cool... I think I'll buy the
CD!"
A general rule in broadcasting... Someone is always listening for the first
time!

Hey all,
I haven't posted to the jam in a LONG time and I have been on it since =
just before Awake came out. Main reason I haven't posted is because I =
don't feel like wasting my time posting about shit that doesn't have to =
do with new DT or a tour. I read the jam maybe once every 10-15 issues =
just to see if anything on the new album is out yet. I downloaded the =
few songs that were put up a couple of months ago that were recorded =
from a live show and I thought they were ok but I didn't get my hopes up =
because they were not studio recordings and were probably not fine =
tuned. As far as the new song goes, I really like it. Yeah I think =
they have changed a little bit but it is still DT. I think every album =
they have recorded has been different, but they are all still DT, =
probably 90% of our favorite band. Everybody has to progress at some =
point and only the strong will survive. Look at Rush, Kiss, =
Queensryche. I will admit I hated HitNF when I first heard it except =
for 2 songs. After a few listens to it I still don't like it that much, =
but have increased to 3 or 4 songs. But it is still Queensryche. I am =
a 80's hard rock fan and I miss the shredders and catchy songs. The new =
Dokken, Warrant, Motley Crue all suck. 80's bands who tried to be hip =
but have that 80's reputation killing them. No one who is a fan of =
[insert name of some crappy current band] would even consider buying one =
of their new albums, because they still think they are recording "Cherry =
Pie" over and over again. Now those bands should have stuck to what =
made them popular, because the only people who are buying their albums, =
that's what they want to hear. DT on the other hand was not a popular =
80's band and they still have never risen to their potential popularity. =
Good albums sell records and keep a band with their label. Whether we =
like it or not it's all about money. If DT doesn't bring in money they =
could get dropped from E/W. Then where the fuck would we be! Paying =
$30 for a japanese import of the band on some dinky label crying about =
how good the album is and how sick the world is because they just don't =
get it. I blame Nirvana for destroying the popularity of the music I =
love, and maybe after this album comes out someone will cry years from =
now because DT destroyed NIN's career. (I know I'm fucking dreaming, but =
I gotta do something!) I love the song, and the production sounds =
pretty good but I won't make up my mind until the disc actually comes =
out. As for Kevin Shirley - how can anyone say he sucks! DT WRITES THE =
FUCKING SONGS! Some people obviously have never been in a recording =
studio with a producer. If you don't like the song it's DT's fault not =
the producers. Do you honestly think if the guy that produced Awake =
produced I&W that it would be less of an album? DT writes the song and =
has the final say as to what it sounds like. If they don't like it they =
rerecord it until they do, all the producer does is give his opinion and =
ideas. If the band takes them, they must think it sounds good. This is =
our FAVORITE BAND people! Let's support them and quit fucking cryin' =
