    Hi everyone,

A little disclaimer. Remember to add those :) where ever you see fit!

    No.

    > it goes both ways.....you haven't heard the CD yet....you haven't heard
    > the final song versions, you haven't heard the production, and to say that
    > this will be your favorite album of all time, based only on past

I don't think anyone who said anything good about FII without some facts
to back up what they're saying. Whoever wrote that FII = I&W quote above
probably just read what MP has said. There are some many reasons that
this CD *appears* to be great. Just read some of my last couple of
posts. Or read what MP has told us. I'm not saying this is the end all
be all CD of this century. But, I'm pretty sure that it's going to be
great. I'm also pretty sure there are many lurkers out there who agree
with me(and probably everyone on the Qr newsgroup disagrees, but, that's
    another post).

Look at it this way. Those of us that think the album is going to be on
the good side have gotten their opinions based on what they've heard,
and/or what they've heard straight from MP. The people who think the
album will be on the bad side have gotten their opinions based on a MP3
file, and/or what they've heard straight from the fuckin' TRASH.

    > frankly, i'm not sure what bugs me worse, folks panning DT based on 4 out
    > of 80 minutes, or total blind obedience (oh, it's gonna be good. How do i
    > know>? It's DT....It's gonna be my favorite album of all time!)

    Who said "all time" anyway?

John needs the all time favorite album NOW!(Spice Girls?)

Well... that's not exactly accurate. JP used the wah pretty darn audibly on a lot of
his solos on both albums. Listen to PMU and see if you can't hear the wah on the solo... not
just used as an EQ, either.

Make sure you don't get an FM Modulator-type changer. The best signal quality you can
possibly get then is the best quality FM signal your radio can receive. That sucks ass (I
know from experience). I came to the decision that cartridges suck, because you can't change
cds while you're driving (Not well, anyways) whereas you CAN change an in dash cd. They make
cd wallets that attach to your sun visor (available at Best Buy) and they make 152 capacity cd
wallets that you can have next to you at any given time. It seems to be more simple and
convenient than having to get out of the car and go to the trunk to change a cd. I spent $400
on an in dash, when I already had a changer, so maybe I'm just a lil insane anyways.

Hmmmmm. Hey Mikey, is Mr. X known to be a *paying* customer ?????? :)

And, oh hell. Is it live or is it studio ??

Separately, after recalling (ahem) one of the DT shows in Europe, I
think that it is entirely possible for BMS to retain a lot of its
integrity while being cut into two songs. And, while recalling this
show, I seem to remember a point that I am not sure was ever brought up
back in April. Specifically, during Metropolis I there was 45 second
insert of new material in the middle instrumental section. Could this
be part of Metropolis 2 ?? Mr. X, care to respond ??

Cool, I'm also from ABQ. I get the feeling they're not a very recognized
band outside of the home. If it's at all possible, you should definitely
give them a listen. Maybe they're not so much a prog metal band as they are
a simple, 80's style metal band. They're good nonetheless. Do you know of
a place in ABQ that sells local music?

    Hi there !!!
I was wandering 2 my self: am i the only one who believes there should b a death panelty
for being extreeeeeeeeeeeemly stupid, ugly, playing mooshy songs and being called
HANSON? I think that they r probably the most un-definable band i've ever seen, in the
    bad sense of the phrase.

    a sharp change of subject:
i bought the rush tribute cd a long time ago, practicaly 2 days after it finally got to
my small neglected israel, and i was realy all excited about it in the first few weeks
but now i feel that it's that great of a cd. after all, all the guys who played there
simply made thing more complicated, which exactly the oposite of RUSH's idea, i mean,
RUSH's songs have always been technicaly simple ( mostly) but still they were great.
but the new cd, althugh very impressive and has an excellent sound unlike rush's
originals, is nothin' special, they simply turned 1/16 to 1/32 and so on.
anyone can do that. ofcourse there r some great stuff there like analog kid, the trees
and more. BY THE WAY: if u listen carefuly, you can hear on portnoy's drum solo in track
2, that when he goes down from whatever percussion it is to the low toms his stick hit
each other by mistake, making this anoying sound which u can't ignore after u
    recognize...

          anyway that's all

well, fuck trying to hear the damn song. i think i'll just sit back, wait til
the 23rd, and see how many strokes jammers will get between all the bitching.
i must say, at least some of it is funny.

one small thought- desmond child. scary thought.

but this is all part of a vicious cycle. we got kevin shirley producing, with
desmond child lurking somewhere in between. i figure after this album goes #1
for about 20 weeks, then the next album will have none other than BOB ROCK (a
personal favorite) or MUTT LANGE (porntoy's voice seems choice for def
leppard-like harmonies). after THAT album blows the moose cock, in an effort
to retain more "progressive authenticities", who better to produce their next
hit album "jerking it harder", than TERRY BROWN? of course, since all prog
rockers love change and despise stagnation, they'll have to close their
careers of with a raw and gutsy album, produced by.......yep, you guessed it-
    EDDIE KRAMER.

    here's to sept. 23.

Yeah, I know tapes can hold more than what the label says(I prefer Maxell 100 minutes tapes, myself :). But, what is the time limit that they set? I'm wondering because they could cut one long song or two shorter ones(yeah, less "sell out" songs! ;). Anyway, someone know the time limit for tapes by E/W?

As innocent as it appears, the fearsome Seroussi is a voracious predator lurking through the forests of Ytse. This large and ungainly beast is feared by all other animals and respected by all other predators. Using it's large incisors, it can reap incredibly vast amounts of forest and devour whole trees in mere seconds. Spawning only once in a lifetime, this terrible creature is a very rare specimen, for even after depositing it's payload of life, it begins to perform infanticide, the consuming of it's own young. It's grand rack of antlers give it a regal bearing and a commanding presence. If one is ever attacked by a Seroussi, it is wisest to beat it over the head with a stout cudgel, for despite it's fearsome persona and hauntingly abhorrant bellow, it fears pain. One species of an amazing menagerie of wildlife cavorting through the wilderness of Ytse. (Next week, fishing for the elusive Thalhead salmon.)

jammers, just letting ya all know that I'm going to see a couple of local bands here in Colorado Springs on Saturday, Psycho Drama and The Quiet Room, and I'll let ya know how it goes. Psycho Drama plays regularly down here, but The Quiet Room (from Denver) is playing here for the first time. I'm planning on picking up their 1st full length CD at the show, and I'll let ya know how that is too. I have the "Quiet Room" promo disk and I think it's outstanding, prog metal, with elements of power metal at its best! Psycho Drama is a good melodic rock band. I'm not that crazy over them(not really my style of music), but they are still outstanding musicians, and I won't take that away from them........ See Ya.....Dusty (colorado springs),

Shiat! How'd you know? Well, ok, i guess I'll have to admit it. Yes, MP and I go work out at the gym twice a week. But I must tell you, every time he can't bench as much as me, he starts making excuses like "Gimme a break man, I was playing drums all day at the studio", or "The song we were recording today had ssome really fast double-bass". Yeah right.

BTW, my name's spelled with an 'E'

    :P Ernie

P.S. I saw a few boots I have questions about. I saw DT's Skyway of Nightmares for $19.99, and the Wake Up boot for $25. Also Lords of Sound for about $50 (rounded off), as well as Live in Japan video for $25 (looked like it might be the PPV thing, but couldn't tell). I also saw a Queensryche boot video (can't remember the name, but it had over 2 hrs, complete show, on it) I believe form the Promised Land tour for $25. Any comments? Are they worth it?
