Well, I didn't mean that the voice is an amp. But, now you got me
thinking. This is a question for all you physics majors out there....I
forget how the voice is different from the strings/"those things on
drums...heads?" and their amps. But let's say you're singing in 79
degree weather. Would your voice be louder if it was 70 degrees? I know
an amp would be. But I'm not sure about the voice(throat, and, vocal
    box).

Side Note: I remember it had to do with compressed air. If this is true
for the voice, we might see JLB singing a stage spraying compressed air
around himself, while our ears start pouring blood! YEAH!!! :)

Hey, could someone please send me jam #2857? I never got it, and, I
    would like to have it.

    Hi all!

I've been away fo a while due to a LOT of problems with my cd writer(s), but I have a new one now and it's hasn't let me down (yet) :) So, I have a new offer for all of you that missed out on the first batch of 'Carpe Diem cd's.

I have about 30 (cd-r) labels with the Carpe Diem print on it left, so I thought, why not make another 30 Carpe Diem cd's. Since Mike changed his price to $20, I thought I'd do it too. The cdr discs are a lot cheaper nowadays, so it's possible.

So that's $20 for a FULL show with the new 'A Change of Seasons' AND a 8-10 page (depends on how you count it) FULL COLOR booklet to go with it. that's not much! Reading the last 10 digests I know that there are some people on the list who think it is a lot of money, but I only have one thing to say to them: DON'T BUY THE CD. simple!

Tracklist for Carpe Diem - LIVE will not always be this way:

    1. Intro - 2:08 2. Under a Glass Moon - 7:32 3. Lifting Shadows of a Dream - 6:26 4. Voices - 10:56 5. A Change of Seasons - 22:59 6. Another Day - 4.39 7. 6:00 - 8:38

These tracks were recorded on July 8th 1995 at the Bospop festival in Weert, The Netherlands.

Here's what to do if you want a copy of 'Carpe Diem'

At first I'll restrict the reservations to one cd per person. If it turns out that only a few people are interested in 'Carpe Diem' (I HOPE NOT!) I'll cancel that restriction.

    ok, here we go:

    * Send a (private) email message to: berkhout@xs4all.nl (Subject: Carpe Diem reservation) * In the message please state your NAME, FULL ADDRESS (snail mail) and EMAIL ADDRESS.

    * If you have any questions about 'Carpe Diem' please email me at the same address (Subject : Carpe Diem question)

As soon as I have 30 reservations, I'll email you all privately with instructions on payment, shipping etc......

Well, I guess that's about it.

Oh before I forget, I have one more NEW piece of information and that is that as soon as the 30 'Carpe Diem' cd's are shipped, there's a reasonable chance I'll start on a new cd project. It won't be a 2CD set, but it will be very very interesting for all of you! that's all I will say about it for now.

    Thanks and take care,

    Marcel Berkhout berkhout@xs4all.nl

    >What is he, a drug dealer?? When it comes down to it what he does is >illegal and not cool. Brian Cox said himself he had DATs of stuff Bahr is >going to make a profit of. Look around and trade. It's worth it.

I think this is a bit of an oversimplification. People are generally hatin' it when they don't have anything to trade. You can get so far on 2:1, but people generally only trade for common shows 2:1. I know I won't trade 2:1 the Euro '97 show I have. So what are people supposed to do? They end up with the common tapes that everyone has and you expect them to be able to trade for rare stuff like Mike puts on his CDs? It's just not that easy. I only have the Euro show because a certain unnamed bootlegger that is currently being heavily maligned was kind enough to tape it off of DAT for me - for free. If he were just into the money making and didn't give a damn about the band or the people he markets to, I would never have gotten that show. Mike is one of the most ethical businessmen I've dealt with. You mentioned Brian Cox in your previous posts. He is an excellent example of the problems encountered in simple boot trading. Let me first say that I have absolutely _NO_ problem with Brian, I'm just using him as an example. When I was first trading a couple of years ago I found Brian's list (and an excellent list it is) and was hoping to do a 2:1 with him. I sent an email every 2 to 3 weeks asking extremely politely for a couple of tapes at 2:1, and even 3:1. Never got a reply at all. Because of this and other situations like it, I always try my hardest to at LEAST get back to the trader even if I'm not interested or don't have time. Alot of people don't seem to have this common courtesy. This is very common for new, and even veteran, tape traders, and shows that trading will not work for alot of people. Media is a concern as well. I would say that at least 99% of people on this list would much prefer having a show(s) on CD than tape if just for sound quality reasons. DAT is great, but most people can't afford the player, and DAT media is expensive. Bahr provides the convience and quality of CD at what I consider a very fair price, not to mention the fact that he just dropped his prices 20% even before this flaming of him began. This is all my opinion, but it's a fact that alot of folks simply don't have the time and resources available to nag people until they can trade for themselves. If you don't like Mike's method, I can certainly respect that and I understand your points, but I would ask you to respect that others do enjoy it and let it be. Take care...

    >>why don't you just go to the bank and continue assisting the nazis?

Thank you, too. I won't go too deep into the subject but please: If in those days highest bank executives and some particular politicians in my country did all those awful things please don't condemn the whole country= ! Most of our old generation still can hardly or simply not believe what ha= s happened *behind their back* while they were standing at the frontier rea= dy to defend the country. They were proud of being a part of the one country=

with by far the highest percentage of refugees relative to the number of residents. They were proud of being a part of the only small still democratic country in Europe while surrounded by nothing than fascistic nations at war. They didn't know what was going on on a higher business level! Only few knew then.

And now, my generation is sick of being accused of what has happened *then*. We are ashamed about those bad deals some made and hope that today's politicians find a way to somehow "do justice" (and of course we all know that unfortunately this will never really be possible) to all those who suffered and were victims of those dark days.

So far for racism, politics and the past. Thank you for reading! ...and please, for us all: don't make it a big thread!

Actually, the price drop was originally intended to affect Mosaic and everything after that, and I'm just spreading it across the board in order to give everyone a break. I timed the price drop very specifically: there were NO orders en route to me at the time, excepting perhaps one or two discs worth, and therefore there's no overlap to refund the price differences. Besides, coughing up $5 to 500 people won't exactly help speed up production. :) I hope people see that I'm just running this the logical way and not trying to be a dick or anything.
