Hmmmm... That dictionary might help more if it were in the same language
"carpe diem" is in. Last time I checked, it wasn't English. :)

As I said in my previous post, I am aware of this. But don't you think if
the other guys REALLY had a problem with Mike Bahr, they would've stopped
him by now? John Petrucci can tell Mike to stop doing CDs.

I'll have to get those. I only have Myung boots.

Hola,
***Disclamer: I am not sure if anyone has posted this before and I am
currently without
Internet access, so I can't check the FAQ. Please forgive me in
advance if this is repeat info.***
If you are interested in some of Derek's past work, check out "Alice
Cooper Trashes the World".
This is a music video filmed in Birmingham, England, during the 'Trash'
world tour (1990). Derek plays
keyboards with Alice's band. (Also some great guitar work from Al
Pitrelli).
Just a tidbit,

OK, we gotta be fair to Brian here. I've seen his boot lists.
They're _immense_. The plain fact is that in trading circles, chances are
he's gonna already have everything most people have to offer. It doesn't
make sense for him to do the work of copying to get nothing when he could
be trading with people that DAT their own shows, so that's what he does.
There's nothing right or wrong about it, it's just the way it is. Does it
frustrate me that he has a zillion King's X and Galactic Cowboys shows
taped that I don't have? Sure it does. Do I therefore post to the Jam
that he's an asshole, or do I try to tape KX and GC when they come through
town and then offer the trade of the clones? (assuming I had a second DAT
recorder, that is). I choose the latter. For those of you who haven't the
time or inclination to build a huge boot collection, and this is most
people, the CD boots are generally plenty of entertainment. Once you start
getting every rinky dink show on tape, you get kinda bored hearing the
same old setlists over and over again.
BTW thanks to those who mailed corrections on the Advanced Boot
Guide to Dream Theater... I'm making those corrections and adding the
updated version to my page this week. Plus I'm adding the You Not Me mp3
file in case anyone has a hard time getting through at decent speed to the
Doc's site or to Swifty's.

I'll help out Lars if you don't mind Rick. Hmm, let's see if carpe diem
is in the ol' Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary from 1973...
car-pe di-em n.[L, enjoy the day]: the enjoyment of the pleasures of the
movement without concern for the future <the "capre diem" theme in
poetry>
1. It is listed as one phrase. [phrase is the key word there]
2. IT'S FUCKING ENGLISH(english phrase, that is) DUMBASS!!!!!!!
DIE!!!!!!! RRAARRRRRRRRRGHH!!!
See how weird your post was Lars...Well, I do! :0
> You're being a dick.
What you mean he isn't playing around? And all this time...I thought
from his very first post he was just fooling...Just goes to show
you...That some people don't have a dictionary in your ass.
In the above example I'm the one without the dictionary up his ass.
While a nameless other does. Not because they didn't look up carpe diem,
but rather because they acted like they had an alien anal probe up their
ass! South Park rules!! What did you say? Uh...rabbits eat lettuce. Oh,
that's true.

A Lesson In Common Dictionaries of the English Language
"Class, today we're going to look at something special about this
delightful tool we call the Dictionary. The special thing is that the
language happens to make use of many other languages. Jimmy, can you think
of another language that might find its way into the English language?"
"Um......French?"
"That's very good Jimmy. French finds it's way in words and phrases such as
'Voyeur', 'Entre Nous', and 'R.S.V.P. (Respondez s'il vous plais)'."
"Sarah, can you think of another language that finds its way into the
English language?"
"Let's see.....how about Latin?"
"Sarah, very good. Yes class, the English language also has Latin words and
phrases in it, and one very important one is 'Carpe Diem'. And Sarah, do
you know what that means, without peeking onto your English Dictionary for
the answer?"
"Does it mean 'Seize the day'?"
"Sarah! *Very* impressive. What else to you know about this term?"
"Well, it happens to be the title of Part III of a kick-ass tune by Dream
Theater entitled 'A Change of Seasons'. I have the fucking CD right here,
along with my fucking Carpe Diem bootleg made by fellow YtseJammer Marcel
Berkhout. This shit kicks some serious ass!"
Have a nice day, and read your dictionaries.

Anyone in the Bay Area who is interested in or already planning to
attend either the Fish show, or the Marillion one, please let me know. I
plan to be at both shows, and I would like to arrange a gathering of
locasl jammers before the shows. Both shows are in San Francisco.
Fish is on Saturday August 24 @ Slim's
Marillion is on Tuesday August 26th @ The Fillmore
I already have a couple people who are interested in a get together
before the Fish show, and hopefully a few more will want to come along.

Shit Partha, after reading that post, I felt like giving Load another
listen and ended up listening to it the whole day. It's always like that
for me. If there's a CD i don't get into at first, and I TRY to like it, i
don't. Then a year later a suddenly start liking it. Happened w/ 'Brave'
as well.
And the ironic thin is, the only songs I liked were Mama Said and Until it
Sleeps:))
And I just saw a tentative list for the next CD and it has Devil's Dance
(which is quite heavy:) and a Gemini 'trilogy' and an instrumental.... i'm
curious:)
>so i made a mistake!!!!!!!!

]From the first post you made, you wrote things like, "Listen to what I have
to say, It is very important" and using a lot of !!!!!!! (which in English
is equivalent to shouting, in case you didn't know) and telling evrybody
(oin your first post) that DT can't write lyrics. I don't know how it is in
your language, but in English that comes out very rude. Simply writing
something like : "I'm really intersted in getting a Ytsejam shirt. Could
someone tell me where I could get one?" would have gotten you a lot more
answers.

Oh, but they do. Check this out:
You want one minute with 16 bit stereo, 44.1 KHz sampling reate
and no compression. Ok:
16bit * 44.1K sr * 2 (stereo) = 1.411.200 bits/s
As you know 1 byte = 8 bits, this gives: 1.411.200 / 8 = 176.400
bytes/s
1 minute of this will occupy: 60 * 176.400 = 10.584.000 bytes
Ok, now for the 13 bit:
13bit * 44.1K sr * 2 = 1.146.600 bits/s
1.146.600 / 8 = 143.325 bytes/s
1 min: 143.325 * 60 = 8.599.500 bytes
By reducing the bit-rate from 16 to 13 you'll get 1.984.500 bytes/min less
space
occupied on the disc. Of course the SR also will give a byte reduction, but
all
on the cost of sound quality. (You can try this out by sampling 1 min with
different
SR / Bit res on your sound card)
Some good news (Er, for me that is ... )
I went to my local CD shop, and FII is out in Norway 22th of Sep. Whooa!
I'm getting the FII a whole day + additional 6 hrs (Time zone) in advance
of you US / Canadians (East cost).
