    Hey there again,
I was just wondering has there been any discussion on the places
where DT will be playing when they kick off their US tour in October?
Or is this kind of up in the air until after the release of "Falling
    into Infinitiy"?
Also, I was flipping through my CD's the other day (I'm moving
so I had to get them in order to go with me) anyways, I came upon my
Pink Floyd Pulse live CD. The CD with the eternal blinking light on
it, anyways, I was looking through the jacket inside and I realized
that all of the snazzy artisticly cool artwork inside was by Storm
Thorgenson. (I think I misspelled his last name, oh well) anyways,
supposedly DT has decided to go with him for the artwork... I am
psyched, this guy's work is so cool, maybe this CD will really catch
some attention on the rack... I think it will... Now for the airwaves,
I hope that the airwaves are full of DT in the next couple of weeks.. I
know, in my heart and soul that "You Not Me" will sell... It's just a
matter of the record company promoting this CD like it should be. As
long as it gets the same or better promotion that I&W did, I don't see
why this CD won't do well. I have heard 99% of all the stuff on this CD
at the Fix show and I am hoping that these songs are even more polished
now and if they are better than the ones I heard at the shows... This
should be one hell of a fucking disc! WOO-HOO!
Anyways, gotta run! Rock on! J

while on the subject of 7 string guitars, i was rather surprised to discover
that ibanez is expanding the line. sweet.

the acoustic one sounds like a sweety, but if anyone here picked up the
latest guitar world's buyer's guide, there's this tenny tiny acoustic guitar
company called MORTORO GUITARS. they're based in florida. the one they had
pictured was the most beautiful guitar i've ever seen- period. i sent away
for a catalog, and within 3 days, my pants were wet. unfortunately, the
3000-6000 dollar price tag on these suckers makes it a little harder to get,
but i guess we know what i'm saving my money for now (besides the enigmatic
mesaboogie mark iii head- bite me, thetgyi).

and no one knows what's up with the rumor regarding neil peart, eh?

Uhm, I think you're really out of line here... I don't go around
releasing boots with cryptic names that turn out to have the same material
on them that are already on popular boots, gypping the customer out of
$30-60. Italian boot companies do exactly that. Ask the guys who put out
Tragedy/Comedy, Dream Out Loud, Rockin' Japan, etc. I release stuff that
isn't on "common" boots, I made the decision of "no duplication at all"
after catching static for using the Status Seeker version from Lords of
Sound on WDATU (best copy of SS I could find). Also, I make good and sure
the content of my CDs is publicly known as early in the process as
    possible.

As for me replicating the Italian boots... well, nobody else was
doing it and people kept asking me for CDR clones of them, and all I did
was make it official that I would be willing to do that for anyone who
wanted it. I never misled people at any time to believe that those
releases were mine or that I produced the material. If that's hypocrisy,
    Reagan is a communist.

If there weren't so many awesomely cool people here on the Jam who
still supported me, I'd just say "fuck off, and hasta la vista!" to the
rest of you. I can't believe this new wave of shit.

Chris Ptacek, you're just fucking wrong on this one, PERIOD. Any
collector who's into bootlegs will tell you that DUPLICATES SUCK. Ask any
Rush boot collector.. there were 9 boots from the p/g tour, and ALL of
them were copies of the fuckin' p/g video release, and until Experience to
Extremes came out, none were even close to complete. Ask DT boot
collectors who accidentally got both Wake Up and Mind Control before
knowing that they were rip-offs of each other and of a Pay-Per-view video
that's usually cheaper than the CDs!! From the collector's standpoint, I
am absolutely right in saying that it would be better if every single boot
out there contained material unique to that bootleg. We want as much
    different stuff as possible.

It sucks that there are only six true soundboard tapes from Rush,
and that we therefore hear them over and over again on boots. It sucks
that NINE companies have released the counterfeit of Y Kant Tori Read,
confounding collectors who thought they might eventually get a YKTR live
or b-sides release. And it sucks that people like you who apparently lack
either experience or knowledge in this area have decided to publicly slam
    someone who _does_.

Those of you who are on my side, no need to defend me this time
(unless you also have a part in this argument), this has nothing to do
with my boot operations and is a point of issue for bootleg collecting in
general. It sucks when ANY bootleg duplicates another. I was collecting
boots for many years before I even dreamed I would make CDs. I've been
through the wringer in every way on this issue, as the buyer and as the
    seller.

Anyway, that's all I'll say for now.

    Greetings Dreamers,

I'm just listening to "Falling into infinity" for the third time. It's not in
any way like WDADU, IAW or Awake. It's very slow ( 4 ballads) and it sounds
older ( thanks Kevin ? ). It's a great album, but it could have been a
fantastic one, if Kevin Shirley and Desmond Child wouldn't have ruined it. I
think DT will lose a few old fans with this, and maybe gain a big commercial
success. I really like the album, but I would like it more, if they would
have done it their way (like on the demos and how they played a few of the
songs on the spring tour in europe).

I can't wait to hear what others think about it. Mails are welcome

I consider it to be helpful to the ytsejammers you're trying to
screw. $75 is bullshit for those discs. If you paid that much, you're an
idiot. It's not an advertisement at all. I don't own those cds, and won't
be selling them. I am merely going to help anyone who has any desire not to
get ripped off. You're not trying to help anyone. You're trying to make a
profit on used cds. You're not trying to break even. You're a scam. If
you were trying to help people out by selling these cds, you'd sell them for
what you paid for them, or less. Are you going to tell me I'm wrong? At
    least be honest.

You want to be a smart ass at me, then you have to deal with the

    there. But I won't apologize.

Wow. That's good. When you're through stumping me with your
obviously superior wit and intellect, please go on to make your point. Or
is this just a complaint because I'm going to try to help people get the
stuff you're offering for less than you're offering it for? Hmm... who has
    what to gain here?

    >> People who want to give me a lesson in manners or want to tell
    >> me I've got a great big ego, please don't waste your time.
    >
    >Since you already know.

What I know is that I was majorly irritated by your post. The way
you're trying to make money off jammers is bullshit. The fact that I say
this and do not CARE AT ALL if someone (like yourself) tries to refute it,
means that I believe I'm correct. I believe in myself, and that gets me
called an egotist. I was simply doing what I can to stop those on this list
who don't want to hear what I have to say from wasting my time with flames
and moronic illogical arguments. Obviously it failed, because I'm
responding to you now. Judge for yourself what you think of me. I don't
care if you think I'm an egotist. That's fine. Just don't be so pissy when
    I call you a scam.

    >You're being a hypocrite, and yet, somehow...entertaining.

Everyone's a hypocrite at one point or another. But I don't see
where I'm being a hypocrite in that post. Feel free to point that out to
    me, Captain Astute.

Now if you have some reasonable arguments to back up what you're
saying, or some ways of disproving the fact that you're selling those cds
for a profit instead of trying to help jammers, like you (hypocrite?) say,
I'll be more than happy to entertain them. If this is the best you can do,
I would rather you not waste my time.

Hell, as much as other people'll probably bitch, I'm with Chris on this one. But the way I see it is, if anyone wants to spend $75 for these discs, I have a nice set of handblown goats molded to represent the members of Dream Theater. It's an older set (circa 1993) with Kevin instead of Derek. HIGHLY COLLECTABLE! Starting price is $550. (Goats ain't cheap!)

Anyway, isn't there a newsgroup for shit like this? Couldn't you post it there? Is this for some sort of charity? If you need the money, then say something like this: "I'm having my uvula removed, and have to part with my beloved Dream Theater discs."

What the Hell does a uvula do anyway, besides collect mucus and shit when I drink milk?

No no, "Falling Into Infinity" is old news. I'm here to report on DT's 5th full-length album, "We Can Kick Green Day's Ass."

I've been listening to it for the last 3 weeks, and well, I gotta admit, the guys did good! Just be prepared for cookie monster vocals when you pick this one up in a couple years. Looks like James got pissed off at all those people who liked Charlie better, 'n he's shown it on tracks like, "Fuck You, Fuck Me" and "Kill the Posuer." Man, I think the whole band got pissed when they wrote, "We Can Write Whatever the Fuck We Want!" Porntoy goes into this 16/4 time signature with a quad bass effect that just gives you an epileptic siezure.

Derek's pounding out his aggression on the end track, "I'm Not Gay," as well. "And you'll never be happy again. I've sold out to make money my friends." This is good stuff.

And I bet Mike Bahr IS wearing pants, but backwards and with a "Kris Kross Forever" T-shirt.

First off, hello to all the jammers that were at the show!!! We fucking rocked...

Mike "fucking" Portnoy was there to sit in for a song with Enchant, and that rocked my balls... he really tore it up...

Got to talk to James Murphy (formerly of Testament), he's one lucky son of a bitch... I'll let you guys wonder about that one... :)

The show was incredible, the best Fates show on the tour so far, highlighted while Mr. Portnoy sang with Ray during Life in Still Water...

Well, all in all, a fuckin incredible show... and also met Steve Perry at the Fog City Diner the next day, he was really cool...
