Hehe, yeah, I missed the show, but that is humourous. Kinda reminds
me of a review of the TSO album I read in the paper last year.
Described them as a combination of Yanni, Rush, and
Meatloaf, or something along those lines :).

heh heh. Check out Mortification from Australia for a good dose of
Christian Death Metal. There is also a Christian Holy Unblack Metal band as
they call themselves. Can't remember their name - something like Vomitural
Corpulence or something equally dumb. There is a whole label over here in
Oz called Rowe Productions which is all Christian Metal.

Rick Allen got in an accident in his car and his arm had to be
amutated, it had nothing to do with falling out of the bus.
And Cliff didn't die from falling out of the bus, he died because
when he fell out the bus fell on him. Don't you guys ever read

OK. This is a conversation I had with som efriends recently. Sorry if this
is considered offensive or anything..
Some (Commercial Music) guys were talking about the worlds best Dead Guys
band. It was Kurt Cobain. Jim Morrison, Hendrix etc etc. They couldn't
think of a drummer and I casually mentioned that the Def Leppard Drummers
arm could do the job. I though this was humorous but my friend was pissing
himself. I asked him why so funny?? and he said that the image that came to
his mind was an arm on a drum stool wearing a jump suit like Portnoy in the
Tokyo video. That was the end of any serious conversation between us for
that night! Hmmm...guess you had to be there...:)

Several of our angry letters -- although not mine -- were published in
last week's issue of POETS, ARTISTS AND MADMEN here. al@isd.net,
Vince LuPone, and Adam Pye -- take a bow! :) You're famous, in
Atlanta anyway.....
There was no comment or defense offered by the newspaper, either, and
all three letters-to-the-editor were DT-related.
I think James needs to dedicate the Atlanta show "to Mitchell Foy of
POETS, ARTISTS AND MADMEN, in the hopes he can get his head out of his
ass." hehehe
I think, instead of hearing "Perfect Strangers" here, DT needs to play
a cover of "Damage Inc." Someone from the crowd can stand in on
vocals if necessary. It's not like we haven't played that Xmas CD
cover EVERY week on WREKage -- by request, even..... :) There might
even be some lost souls at the show expecting to hear it. heh

I'm not going to beat this into the ground or anything (or am I already?), but if you're looking for STUPENDOUS music, you're probably not going to find it on the radio. I find I enjoy listening to some of the more mainstream stuff like Big Wreck and Soundgarden. But I don't get any lighter.
Days of the New: uhm, that song happens to sound a bit like AiC, however, they do a lot of nifty stuff. They use really nice bass voice-leading like AiC did in Jar of Flies/Sap, and they do some similar vocal stuff, but most of the rest of the songs on the album don't sound much like AiC. Though Travis' voice is rather similar to Layne's, but he can't really help that now can he??!

In the "who cares?" department: If DT ever covered Styx, I think two good songs would be Man in the Wilderness and Renegade.
I got Michael Romeo's solo cd. He's the guitarist from Symphony X. It's not bad, but it's not SX. Lots of noodles, scales and shred. Less classical influences (aside from a Paganini cover) and not much keyboards. Lots of double-bass drum, but it's mostly a machine. Anyway, it's worth a listen, but I'd probably skip it if you're on a budget.

Not to be picky, but Rick Allen didn't fall out of a bus. He was involved in an automobile accident in which he was driving his own car and tried (unsuccessfuly, obviously) to pass a car that was going too slow. Not sure if he collided w/ another car or just skidded off the road.

You should see the number of foot pedals he has on his kit. The fact that he can play what he use to play w/ one less arm is a testimony not only to his physical ability but to his dedication in overcoming his disability. I caught the band during the Slang tour in Austin, TX and, speaking as a drummer, the guy was rock solid. In fact, I totally forgot that he only had one arm until the band took their bows at the end of the show. That blew my mind.
