The other day (Friday), as I was buying a new car (therefore no cds) I had
to listen to the radio. I happened to be listening to 98 Rock's "Love It or
Shove It"
and to my suprise, the feature song was Yngwie Malmsteen's "Facing the Animal."
What are the odds? Even the dj commented that he hadn't heard of Yngwie in about
five years (I think that was when his last major label release was) and he
wondered
if Yngwie still sounded like <insert mock noodling scalar run here>. Of
course the
open to the song featured such a run. /me shakes his head. Of course, most
of the
local red neck losers said, "shove it." I was still suprised to hear that on
a major
radio station.

I only wish they don't call it "Re-Falling into Re-Infinity" or, well, you got the idea. :-)) Then we would call them sellouts for not putting out the music we'd like to hear, that their previous albums were much heavier and that it was much better when they had their old bassist... :-)

I think that ABOTW has the better selection of songs, while Wounded has a better produced sound. They're both great albums, IMHO. Enchant is a great band, one that everyone should check out. I don't see the Stevie Wonder connection, though.

Err, not mine. I personally think that the music from SNF set back the developement of music ten years or so. I remember when everyone was into disco, and I was listening to Yes, Rush, Genesis and Zeppelin, among others. Hmm, kind of like now, when everyone I know listens to Top 40, and I listen to stuff that's probably never been played on any radio station.

I have all the Fates CDs, and it took me awhile to get into that one. I don't think I really realized how good it was until I listened to it on a long car trip. It's one of those recordings that works best when listened to uniterrupted. I'd put Marillion's "Brave" in the same category. I also think Awake works best when listened to straight through, even though it's not a concept album (see, an on-topic comment).

I really hate 'I agree' postings, but this one made me do it.
Who was the guy who about a week ago said that with FII DT left the throne of the kings of prog-metal? Well, Symphony X are IMO the rightful new sovereigns. "Divine wings of tragedy" is such an elaborate, complicated mass of sounds, that need at least one weak just to get used to. But it's wort= h.
My only objection is the lead singer - the band IMHO might just as well do without him.

on the last digest somone said they thought about converting some lady but then saw she was a dance fan and thought it was usless. Dude if a person listens to dance music it dose not mean she will not like like DT. I myself like dance music. When i got my last MEGADETH cd (CW) it was strange cos i went up to the dude and told him do you have the new MEGADETH (this was the day it came out so i was not sure they had it). when he gave it to me i asked him for Arrested Development.
