Possibly, but remember that these are grunge fans. They may be turning their heads to vomit, spit or insert another nose ring. ;)

There is one problem with this scenario.

Tempus will buy all of the discs due to the Yes content. :) That will leave the rest of us waiting until the next millennium for a new release.

    Yes, I do.

Now if you could please put down that satchel of heroin which is feeding your delusional state, we can refrain from notifying the proper psychiatric authorities. ;) Seriously though, I hope that the new one is out soon. The wait is becoming intolerable. I am actually starting to get tired of listening to I&W!!!! H E L P !!!!!!!!! Is there no hormone therapy that might save me!?!?

OK, let's not let this get out of hand. The *last* thing we want is for a bunch of seemingly wild-eyed, disorganized, headbangers who jumped onto Mom's computers shouting for "New DT, dude!"

What we do want, assuming that the band wants this, and assuming it's warranted, is to politely ask ONCE for some feedback regarding the status of DT's new album, and a gentle reminder that it's been too damn long since they've released an LP.

People that have to read publicly solicited e-mail like that will hit "D" on those "Dude, DT nox radz!!!!!" posts faster than Bafu comes up with that trademarked witty repartee.

The Savatage Streets re-release was called off a couple months ago because parts of many songs were included on the Edge Of Thorns album. Also, f.y.i, When The Crowds Are Gone was originally slated to go on the Streets album right before Jesus Saves but the band couldn't wait and put it on Gutter Ballet. Too bad about the double version of Streets. Its a damn shame

Upon the advice of other Jammers <ya got the right idea Tony>, just wanted to drop a note to say LET'S GET ON THE FREAKIN BALL WITH THE NEW DREAM THEATER ALBUM. I, personally, am going through withdrawals and have played Awake, A Change of Seasons, and Uncovered so damn many times, my girlfriend is threatening to hide the CD's from me.

Queensryche's Hear in the Now Frontier and the new Magellan will have to suffice for now, but us jammers can't be deprived much longer or there is going to be an uprising!!! The streets will flow with the blood of the non-belivers!! Badges?!! We don't need no steenkeen badges!!!

To those who don't have soundcards (a vast majority, methinks), there'd be a paid telephone line where you can order what song you want to listen to and then enjoy it in its fullest mono lo-quality.

Hey Rick...where have ya been? :)

The new DT album: I love DT as much as the next guy, but I am patiently waiting for the new LP. I have so many other CDs to buy and listen to to keep me busy until DT's next masterpiece. Plus the fact that there's homework and other shit to do. I hope they release the album sometime in the summer. I think if it's released during school time, I'd abandon all my claases and work b/c I'd be listening to the new DT album all f00kin time. :)

How doy uo think Metalica fans felt waiting 5 years for a new album. Trust me, it's not that long a wait. 2-3 years is the average time it now takes between albums.

    Hi all:

I have to put in my plug as well for IAW being my favorite album. I also *LOVE* images and words, and very much *like* Awake. I really do enjoy the clear and melodic vocals that James has. Perhaps it was the mixing process as well, but even when he sings more metallic, such as the beginning of Take the Time, he has more definition and clarity in his voice compared to Awake.

I do *love* the drum sound best in Awake. Portnoy's set is magnificent sounding in that release.

Also, I have to admit that I don't like as well the 7 string, heavier sound in Awake and Change of seasons. I'd like to hear mostly 6 string guitars and better vocals with more clarity.

Initially, I thought that Awake was a BIG step down in quality from IAW, when I heard just the cassette. But fortunately, when I got my CD player (practically for the reason that the cassette did not have Scarred on it, despite never hearing the song), when I first heard Scarred, it REALLY made up for the cassette. That's one of DT's best songs I think.

Anyhow, that's my 2 cents worth, and I'm hoping DT keeps enough finesse and taste in most of the new songs in order to keep them mis-classified as a heavy metal band!

It will contain all CD updates directly from the source the moment they come out, plus it contains a catalog of all past and future Prism Records limited-edition CDs. Please give it a look if you're checking out the web.

Here's the URL: http://www.goodnet.com/~durnik (bet you could all see THAT one coming, eh?)

Jeff and Ryan, and others currently carrying my CD updates or cover images: If you could alter that link to a link that carries the people to my page, it would be tremendously appreciated. I owe you all some beers for your support up till now. Thanks!!

Those of you with Dream Theater, Galactic-cowboys, or King's X specific pages will want to e-mail me the URL so I can add it to the links. Or if you think I'm an idiot, maybe you WON'T want to. It's up to you. :)

Hey, gang. Aaron Silverman asked about the infamous New York City prog nite, and whether it was going to be held this month. Well, I asked Dan Gibson himself about it, and here's what he wrote back:

---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 06 Feb 1997 17:57:43 -0800 From: Dan Gibson <dgibson@echonyc.com> To: The Digital Man <cmerlo@uvm-gen.emba.uvm.edu>, nishiki@juno.com Subject: Re: Prog night???

Sorry about the lack of info on this, guys! I've been too busy with other things to go chasing Bob down, and he's probably in the same boat as me, and the new ownership (as of about a year ago) at the RNR has not been too impressed with the cash flow generated by Prog Night, so the way we left it was "maybe we'll start it again in the spring when the weather's nicer...". I'll post something on the tidalpool web site as soon as I get hold of Bob and see if he's done anything.

    BTW, thanx about the comparison with the Eventide 3000... ;-) -- Dan Gibson 60 East 12th Street, #2J http://www.echonyc.com/~dgibson/ New York, NY 10003 dgibson@echonyc.com (212) 460-8416

So, I guess that's the scoop. Too bad they couldn't get more of a draw, especially in a town like NY. If you ever hear about Prog Nite happening again, be sure to support it! What does it say about us, or about prog in general, if we can't get out one night a month?
