Hehe, a DT CD-ROM game would rock. I'd post some creative ideas, but
the creative-ness of my mind decided to take a hike for the moment.
Anyway, speaking of CD-ROMs, I just found out about an Iron
Maiden/Eddie-based CD-ROM game (for PC and Playstation) last night on
Maiden's web site (official). It's been a while since I checked on the site and stuff,
so I may just be a tad out of touch, but does anybody know much about
this (other than what's on the site)? Looks like it could be
potentially very cool (it's called Melt). Will it be released in the
    US?

Just my 15 minutes, uh, er, 3 measure of fame :)

I noticed my post was split accross two jams. Is there anyone keeping
    tracking of the record? :)

    Hey guys and gals,

I am not sure if someone has already brought this up, so please forgive me
if it has already been discussed...

I was wondering if anybody knew the story behind the unreleased Dream
Theater tune, "Don't Look Past Me." After listening to it, it seems that
either Kevin wrote the whole thing, or he was a big contributor to the
tune. The tune sounds like it was written during the writing for "Images
And Words." The lyrics definately sound like they were in Kevin's style of
    writing. Any ideas/opinions?

Do you guys seriously want to do this tribute CD? Okay then, let's
do it. First we need a song list. Then we all need metronomes. We'll
record at a certain tempo on .wav files at 44 KHz, save the file of us
playing to a zip drive disk, and then mail the disk to the dude/dudette who
has at least an 8 track recorder and can mix all the different tracks
together. Then we can pass the tapes around to others on the Ytsejam for $4
or $5 a piece. I'm sure the band would like it.
If anyone here SERIOUSLY wants to get this done, e-mail me
privately and we'll set it up. I'm thinking 7 songs right now. Tell me if
    you agree:

    Pull Me Under
    The Ytsejam
    A Mind Beside Itself
    The Mirror/Lie
    Scarred
    Metropolis
    Under a Glass Moon

I'd be happy to play guitar on as many as three songs here, but I
    only really want Mirror/Lie.
Like I said, e-mail me if you are really serious about this. I'm
    all for it.

    Laterz,
(this sig file is really appropriate right now!!)

Peace be with you and God bless,

I bought the NUNO cd yesterday and would give a quick review for anyone
who's curious. I'll keep it short. For anyone who loved the conceptial
nature of both Pornographitti and 3sides.. this album has none of that. The
songs are simple and raw... not a good thing mind you. Most songs sound like
attempts at grunge ala Silverchair or Nirvana, who Nuno sites as an
influence now (go figure). There are little if any keyboard parts and the
guitar solos are sparse and uninteresting, which I thought was impossible
for someone like Nuno. Many of the tracks have drum machines and the
production is usually second rate. The album in general sounds more like a
demo than a legitimate project. There are a few interesting tracks like
"Pursuit of Happiness" and "Gravity" but in general the album fails as
either a "cutting edge experimental" album or as a "poppy-punkish agnst
filled free what I want to do" project. I was looking forward to this
album... but right now I would say that I'm disappointed.

I think you are a fool. You are probably some little computer freak that sits in front of his computer at work masturbating to ytsejams. I am not ignorant. You flammed the album. An album that I and many people I know enjoy. Does it every occur to you that music changes? I was defending the album just like you were defending yourself. I enjoyed OM, as much as Empire, and I love PL as much as all of them. If I were you I would think twice about "smearing" someones name all over the jam. You are a conservative person who can't handle change. So you might as well consider removing yourself from the jam, you won't like the NEW Dream Theater album because it is different. You better start taking regular doses of prozac because all this change is going to freak you out. The people are going to be the same (just like QR) but the music is going to be different. (just like QR) I would think twice about flamming someone's defense of one of their favorite albums. It also shows immaturity on your part writing a page response to a paragraph of opinion. Grow up little boy you have a lot to learn....

First off all I might as well start off by saying if you can flame the damn album that I like I can flame you. If you can't take it like a man don't take it at all. I was defending a showing of talent. How would you like it if you put all your heart an soul into an album for a few years and then you were told that it "sucks" "Suks Nadz" or equivelant. I apologize for voicing my opinion, I have one you know. It's nice to know that I can defend an album that has 2 moods, agressive and post-aggressive an album that shows more musical talent than the other albums but yet, doesn't have the catchiness that the other albums. I don't know I guess I touched upon a touchy subject that I will drop now. Sorry... Later, J

I ordered it Monday and today when I mailed them asking when they thought I would get it, they told me they sent it out yesterday! If I get in the next few days, which I should, then this is one heck of a deal for $14.99. They have them in stock too, so anybody looking for this disc (who isn't) check out this place.

    Hi,

I don't know why everyone just does not like Promised Land, I personally love the cd. It's completely different from what I would have expected them to put out. It's not at all like Mindcrime or Empire (well, a few parts of Empire), it's just a completely different side to what the band can do. If the music is good, it's good, expectations can be a bad thing at times. Just beacause it's not in the same vein as past albums, doens't mean it sucks.

I am writing you this to inform you of a very important matter currently under review by the FCC. Your local telephone company has filed a proposal with the FCC to impose per minute charges for your Internet service. They content that your usage has or will hinder the operation of the telephone network. It is my belief that Internet usage will dimish if users were required to pay additional per minute charges. The FCC has created an email box for your comments, responses must be received by FEBRUARY 13 THURS. 1997. Send you comments to isp@fcc.gov and tel them what you think. Every phone company is in on this one, and they are trying to sneak it in just under the wire for litigation. Let everyone you know hear this one. Get the e-mail address to everyone you can think of. isp@fcc.gov

Please forward this e-mail to all your friends on the Internet so our voices may be heard!"
