So do I.

This, however, is just as rude. Homosexuals are not disoriented or
challenged in any way.

How can you say you are willing to accept it when you follow up that
statement with this one:

> compact mess of tissue
There is a name for people with attitudes like this: homophobe.

You're right--I don't get it. I don't think I want to.
Sorry for the NVHC.

How about if we all asked if you were a fag? Let's say he is for the sake of
arguement; does that make him less of a guitar player because he likes to
smoke the Baloney Pony?
I know the answer and could tell you, but you already have your mind made up
so what's the use.

ps. You know what's also interesting is when people in the digest answered
the post somewhere in the reply the phrase "I'm not Gay, but..." seemed to
appear quite a bit. Very interesting indeed....

1) This question doesn't belong on this list.
2) I can't see how it matters at all whether he is or is not.
3) I can't believe that there are people on this list who are so
insensitive to homosexuals that you would actually use such a derogatory
term in a public forum. Have some damned decency.

In Albany, at the first show of the tour, they played both. Sometime after that, these two songs went into the platoon phase. Then, as far as I can tell, by the time they played Boston, they had finished playing "T&M" altogether. My (totally unbased) opinion is that they didn't get the rise from the crowd they wanted with that one, and decided to play "Resist" only. (Personally, I much preferred T&M.)

You know, I read this first sentence, and I actually thought that Korg was going to be civil and intelligent about this matter. Then he continued to ramble...

Disoriented? Challenged?
> I have come to the fact the there are people among us who choose to > be such and I am willing to accept that. But if any tries any
Once again, what he's saying *appears* rational...
> advances towards me will be pummeled into a compact mess of tissue and > I will write FP on my hand to keep them at bay evermore. Maybe SDFP.
This is just not called for. If you're actually stupid and belligerent enough to want to go gay-bashing, well, that's one thing. But to actually *advertise* your intentions brings you to an entirely new level of immaturity and stupidity.
I am personally disgusted by the two of you.
> (Some people might not get that, but those of you that do... I think > that was the stupidest thing we ever did in school)
You might just be right.

Very eloquent. Thanks for sharing your unparalleled wisdom with the group.

I thought I'd share this publically, in case anyone else was wondering about this. I bought Victor the day it was released (*there's* a surprise, huh?) and I wasn't the least bit disappointed. The guitar playing is top-notch, and all the vocalists really did a great job.
Most of the album is kinda dark, which surprised me. Alex always seemed to me to be the fun-loving easy-going member of Rush, but boy did he have some issues to deal with while writing this one.
There are a couple of exceptions to the overall dark tone of the album. Most notably, the song "Shut Up Shuttin' Up" is downright hilarious. There are some great bassists and drummers and etc. on this album as well. No appearances at all by Ged or Neil.
I recommend this one highly.
Oh, yeah, happy Jam #2200. :)

Hello Everyone, Catching up on a few questions asked on recent jams.
Michael Kiske: he sung with Helloween, he was interested in the Iron Maiden spot after Bruce left. he recorded the following with Helloween: 'Keeper Of The 7 Keys Part 1 '-A Classic 'Keeper Of The 7 Keys Part 2' -A Classic 'Live In the UK'- Okay live album that Kiske supposedly re recorded all his vocals in the studio 'Pink Bubbles Go Ape' - Definately their worst 'Chameleon' - some cool almost prog stuff, a bit patchy 'The Best, The Rest, The Rare' Compilation - a good place to start The two studio albums made without Kiske, 'Master Of The Rings' and 'The Time Of The Oath' are both good without being anything special.
Time Machine: A great Italian progressive band, I can't really put my finger on who they soumd like, if anyone I'd say Queensryche, the vocals are similar to Geoff's. their music requires a few listens to fully digest. They have two albums, both are great and well worth checking out, 'Projest Time Scanning' and 'Act11 Galeleo' (great concept album). They have quite a unique sound, but they are not as heavy as DT.
Someone was asking about IRC, I found some great info on Itchy's web page http://www.prognosis.com You can down load the software from Mark's site, and he has step by step instructions to get you on the Freak/ytsejam channels. His guide is spot on, you should have no problems getting on the IRC.
My DT cover band: Vocals: Glenn Hughes- the greatest voice ever Guitars: Trevor Rabin -Yes Drums: Paul Craddick -Enchant Bass Pete Trewavas -Marillion: Keys: Keith Emerson -needs no introduction
Another CD on line store to be wary of is CD TELESHOP, I ordered over two weeks ago, heard nothing since, I've send 3 un answered e-mails, left a message on their anwering machine, still nothing, has anyone else had any dealings with them ?
Cheers Graham

Ugh. If You meen Raul that plays/played bass with the estonian Ultima Thule, I know him and I agree with You whole heartedly. I have played some gigs where he preformed with UT and on other occasions with one of his Jazz/fusion groups and been lucky to jam with him and he is great, plays Jazz, Rock, Heavy-metal, funk using a fretless 6 string bass. If he had lived in USA, he would have been mentioned among the othe Bass gods, Sheean, Hamm, Myung.

Hey Jammin' Dudes 'n Dudettes :-)
ok, there have been many ideas about a Dream Theater cover band, and who should play in it, I have several ideas:
First of all, an IRC buddies setup :-)
Vocals: Heather Powers (aka LdyDragon) Guitars: Mario Viele (aka Rip) Keys: Gary Wehrkamp (aka sssyd) Bass: Sean Malone (aka malone) Drums: Ben Laussade (aka Ytse-Ben)
How's that for a band, I *could* include myself, but since I suck, I won't do that to you all :-))))
Another idea, an 'air-play-cover-band'
Vocals: Rudy van IJzendoorn (aka U-dAZ on IRC, whoa that's me! :-)) Guitars: Rudy van IJzendoorn (aka U-dAZ on IRC, hmm that's me! :-)) Keys: Rudy van IJzendoorn (aka U-dAZ on IRC, argh that's me! :-)) Bass: Rudy van IJzendoorn (aka U-dAZ on IRC, ok, well it's me! :-)) Drums: Mark Bredius (aka Itchy on IRC, adding a little Marillion to the whole thing , grin)
Of course, this is a pure fictive band :-), oh am I a little 'TOO' present there? :-)
And, to end this all, a serious idea :
Vocals: Michael Sweet (ex-Stryper) Guitars: Randy Rhoads (no longer with us) Keys: Kevin Moore (yup, him) Bass: Sting Drums: Argh, Neil Peart of course !!!
So much for that :-)
On to the next thing: On which Helloween albums did Michael Kiske play:
Keeper of the Seven Keys, part 1 Keeper of the Seven Keys, part 2 Live in the U.K. Pink Bubbles Go Ape Chameleon
And of course, he sang on some EP's and singles.... dunno which....
Rudy van IJzendoorn -=Dream Theater OnLine: Under A Cyber Moon=-
PS: Vote Now: should Under A Cyber Moon's frames dissapear or not??? please let me know asap, I am thinking of removing them!

I had a very bad experience with Apocalypse Music. This was what happened to me:
- In September, I ordered two CD's. Marillion Originals and Clutching at Straws. - Within a week, I received Reel to Reel and Afraid of Sunlight, one that I had and one that I didn't really want. - I sent an email to Mike. He told me to return them and he would switch them with the ones that I wanted. This was October 4. - I returned them. - A week later and I asked him how it was going. No answer. - The rest of October, November, and December, I sent him over 10 e-mails asking about the status of my order. All these e-mails were sent with read receipt requested. All these e-mails were read with 10 minutes of me sending them. None of them generated a response from Mike. - Over Christmas, I talked to two people. One a post office worker, one an old lawyer friend. They both told me that since my check was sent US mail, I could file a mail fraud complaint with the postal inspector. - Last weekend, I sent a very nasty e-mail to Mike, telling him that I was going to report him to my postmaster and his. I also told him I was going to report him to his ISP. I also told him that I would spam every Usenet newsgroup and mailing list recounting my experience. I told him that I could tell he was reading my messages by the read receipts that his Unix sendmail was returning to me. - On Tuesday of this week, I received both discs through Next day air.
I advise all ytsejammers to stay away from this clown. He is running a less than 100% business effort. If any of you have similar problems, I would recommend similar action.

P.S. Surprisingly these (four - the Originals are a repackaging of their first three discs, Script for a Jester's Tear, Fugazi, and Misplaced Childhood) Marillion discs did not suck. Funny, but for some reason, Kayleigh was filed away in my mind as an old Genesis song. Joe Kruger

(this is a repost of something that I posted over winter break)
I was just looking at the Queensryche page that someone posted, and noticed that it is a part of a "WebRing", a circular list of QR dedicated links that are all centrally linked through a CGI script at http://www.webring.org/ Anyway, I think that we are getting to the point with DT pages that this looks like a cool idea... I know that my DT page gets a few thousand hits a month, and I think a way to link to some of the more unknown sites would be cool... I would be willing to do the maintainence on it, but I would first need everyone interested to email me (that is, all of the page maintainers)... The next step would be to create some graphics for the WebRing, something that I could possibly do, but I think that there are probably some graphic artists on the 'Jam who would probably be able to do a better job... Anyway, email me personally if interested...

I have had several dealings with Dream Disc, all of them extremely positive. It normally takes about two weeks for me to get stuff, even though I only live about three hours away from the guy.
He was able to get me hard-to-find stuff like Angra's Evil Warning CD and Holy Land/FNAC that Impulse told me was just not available.
His prices are fairly reasonable and he always includes a Visa receipt to avoid any money questions. He knows progressive metal fairly well, is very capable of making recommendations based on your tastes.
He and the woman from Impulse both told me that Noise Records USA completely and totally sucks as a vendor. They send whatever they want to their customers, not always what they order. This is probably the reason they may be having problems with the Superior CD.
I recommend patience for this CD; it is well worth the wait.

My only complaint with Impulse is that they don't really make it clear when they do or don't put things on back-order for you. Joe Kruger

In response to the paragraph above, no I don't think that Kirk is a fag. Where did you hear this? I don't think that James and Lars would allow such a thing. If he was you would have heard him on one album only, then they would have replaced him with a much better guitarist. Later, J
