Hi!
I just want to tell you that I'm really sorry, that there are
so many problems getting our CD. :( This situation really sucks.
I hope that NOISE solve their problems over there SOON. I'll call
them again ask what the hell is going on there.
Sorry.
Bye.

Greetings ye 'jamanoids...
Boy has it been refreshing to read the last ten jams. Veeeeee-ry uplifting.
Where's Ken Bibb when you need one? And I actually read the jams. Boy, do I
need a life...

I have to make a little correction to the very unjam-mish question about
cool surf rock and the replies it has generated. Laika and the Cosmonauts
(was I surprised to see that name in here!) are Finns. Ever seen a Finnish
surfer? Me neither. The concept is slightly amusing, though.

Uh oh. That was a monstrous mistake, methinks. Just how the f**k do you think
you can make 800 dubs of it? :) Besides, the band still does not want copies
of it floating around. Not before the new album has been released. Understood?

The only SEX and RELIGION that are an allowed topic for discussion on the

Ice Cats was a hockey table game back in late 70's. It had flat steel
player figures. So, Ice Cats look kinda flat. :) Next question, please.
I've got all the answers. :P

Hiyis
I just bought my first Jason Becker cd, Perpetual Burn, and all I can say is:
:-o
This is absolutely amazing. I've only listened to it once, but i was left
speechless (maybe because I was the only one home at the time) after hearing
the first track. I've never heard him before (to my knowledge) but I'll
definately check out some of his other stuff.
I saw the 'Dragon Attack' cd. For those who haven't seen it it's in a tacky
metal case and they spell John Petrucci's surname incorrectly on the back.
Not a good sign (call me picky, but when they can't get a featured artist's
name right then I'm a bit concerned). And a bit expensive, too...
I got Steve Morse's 'High Tension Wires'. Nothing amazing, it's ok.
Probably grow on me (like mold, as my brother would say).
What else was there to say? Umm...
Oh, yeah! I taped Streets and Handful of Rain onto a 2 hour tape. Now I
can listen to the greatest album of all time on my way to and from work each
day! Woohoo! I can get all teary-eyed in front of a carriage full of
strangers during 'Believe'! And I can listen to Handful of Rain as well...
Just a question regarding 'Alone You Breath' from HoR.
Does anyone think it would have been absolutely amazing if Jon Oliva had
sung it instead of Zach? Imagine how emotional it would have been! I'd be
bawling my eyes out everytime I listened to it...
Just my 2 cents (Australian).
See yis!

I have been ordering stuff from DreamDisc about once a month for the last 4
months and haven't had any problems. The orders usually come within 5-7
business days. I got White Lion's "Fight to Survive" which took about 3
weeks, but he told me that it would be that long. I would just keep calling
to make sure that he's on top of it.
Just make sure that your credit card isn't billed for it ahead of time.

Well Shadow Gallery's first finally arrived directly from Magna Carta. I
definitely like it and this well help tie me over until new DT or new
Fates. Right now I am undecided about which SG album is the best....
There was a Magna Carta catalog included with my order and it says that
the new Magellan is available. Anyone have it? The catalog also says
Spring 1997 for them to release the new Enchant cd.

I think that was correct. KJLB is the only singer who can bring me close
to tears several times in a row. I think discussing the fact that he has
small flaws in his performance brings him to a human level, rather than
the god that many of us try to make himm. He's just a very talented
person. Many of us are just that. It looks like Bernd must be, huh?
Congrats, man. You fuckin' kick ass. Be well.

i dont seem to recall any of those posts saying that KJLB is a robotic being,
i reponded to someones postz in hopes of maybe answering some questions for
them, never once did i say that maybe he wasnt human and believe me i give
him all the credit in the world for getting up there and doing what he does,
Not in any of me response do I feel that I NIT_PICKED in any way
what-so-ever, and seeing shit like what was written really perturbs me,
obviously he and all the other guys in the band have some off nights from
time to time, that is what i was trying to get across to the other person i
was replying to. I too feel that he is one of the best singers out there,
hell he has commited alot of time and effort to it, he deserves to be as good
as he is, but even the best still screw up, that is the price everyone pays
for being a human being. I also feel that he is a great person, after seeing
them twice, meeting him once and seeing as many live videos, and interviews
as i have seen. Well I guess this holds true that you cant PLEASE everyone.

Hi all,
I have heard mention of the Steve Morse Band a couple days back and I saw
his CD in the local CD shop. I was wondering if anyone could give me a
little more info on what to expect from it so I know if I should run out and
pick it up. Please e-mail or post here with any valuable info you may have.
Jason Becker's "Perspective": With the comments I have heard in the last
couple jams about this CD, I would LOVE to hear more about what's on it and
what type of music we are talking about here. Anything that has that great
of an emotional effect on folks is something I probably want to give a
listen to.
About the Gay thread:
I just got back to work on Monday morning and read through about 5
jams full fo mostly gay discussions brought up by Kirk Hammet. Man this is
F&^%$^&% BORING! What a waste of space - aren't there some gay newsgroups or
something out there, cuz the internet is a big place. Last time I checked,
this list is about music!
Thanks,

You can list me as one of those who praise it to death. I know many
people who do, too. Maybe it's the european thing again... Vai once
said that the album was more popular in Europe and Japan than ever in
the States.
"Like the sun in the sky we fall and we will rise, helping each other
survive."
Vai has come up with very crazy vocal harmonies. Sometimes it's Devin
singing 6 parts at a time. It goes from very soft sounding music to
extremely hard and aggressive metal. Devin shines, so do all the
other musicians, though I've heard that Vai had an enormous ego trip
during the sessions and wanted to control everything, so the band
split up.
I would say it was worth all those 250 kroons I paid for it. (The
exchange rate is 12:1.)

I had the greatest pleasure of seeing Mike Portnoy's drum clinic in Rancho
Cucamunga, Ca. Aside from being a very informative drummer on odd times, song
writing with using calculators to figure out different polyrhythms, and
playing along to DAT recordings from the new album (Lines in the Sand, Just
Let Me Breathe) he did mention that they will definitely release a Metropolis
pt. 2. According to Mike in his very own words, it will be "27 minutes long
and with an instrumental section even more wacky then the first Metropolis."
I'm sure that there are tons of jammers out there that have seen his clinic.
I don't know why nobody even mentions on the jam of a second Metropolis! Oh
well. I guess we'll find out in several months of the album.
Oh, by the way, did anybody ever meet Mike's dad. I sure did and he's
the coolest guy. Very supportive of his son. Had to get his autograph to (he
did suggest they be called Dream Theater).

Fellow Jammers,
Now, I know it's probably a cruel thing to plug a company via the 'jam,
but I think this could really help out all of us Jammers. Here's the
deal:
This month, I started working at a company called Sage Enterprises.
They run a FREE service called PlanetAll. Basically, PlanetAll is a
personal organizer / travel planner / address book / plus much more all
rolled into one. It's a very useful service. There's a catch though --
it's only useful if you have a bunch of people you can create contacts
with. So, here's how it can help the Jammers.
If we got everyone on the Jam to sign up to PlanetAll, and entered
ourselves in the group "Ytse Jam", we could create links to everyone we
know on the jam. Now, if we all did this, any time that we traveled to
a different city, PlanetAll would let us know of any Jammers in the
traveling destination area. For example, if I were to travel from
Boston to somewhere in Vermont, PlanetAll would tell me that D-Man would
be nearby and the service would also supply me with his address, phone
number, etc. in case I wanted to contact him. It would also let me know
if he changed his email address or real address as well.
I figured that since Jammers enjoy meeting other Jammers, this is a
service that would complement coordination of ytseEvents with other
Jammers. Give it a shot. It's totally free and totally private. Plus,
if you sign up a bunch of your friends to use the service, you get a
free plane ticket! Thanks for hearing me out and I'm sorry to use the
Jam as an advertising campaign.
