One single mention of Slayer on the Jam and this is the result ;-))

Anyway, it was about music, at least. If you want to read something
about Dream Theater, scan the news pages of the official page at
rsabbs.com, or at the THE MIRROR pages for all German fans.

    Hoi!!

I just knew that this would appear and that people would want to hear
    this 8-track stuff... :)

Well, what do you expect... I naturally can't send this tape to
anyone. Don't even think about selling or trading it. This is for
the record companies only because they want to know what
we are doing all the time... :) This doesn't mean, that I wouldn't
WANT to give this stuff away. I'd really like to get some opinions
from people outside the band. But I'm just not allowed to do it.
    Copyright and stuff... Sorry, people.

    Bye.

    Hi !

I want to buy the 'Shadow of The moon' the 1st album of the new project
Blackmore's night, and I would like to hear some opinions. I know that is a
girl singing (Candice Night), and is an accouistic album with renascence
and baroque melodies. Well I know almost everything about the album, but I
would like to know some opinions.

Next months will be full of choices, the new of Gamma Ray, Malmsteen,
Savatage, DT, Virgin Steele, Manowar Live, Running Wild (maybe), ...

Suggestion: Buy the new Stratovarius - 'Visions'

With all this hype and hoopla...I must say, you've all driven me to
something I thought I'd never admit.

Well, I'm going to take a stand and say,

I am Derek Sherinian's blonde, gay lover. Yep that's right. A guitarist
and a keyboardist in the throes of lust.

I offered my services to James, but he insisted that he stay at his
caribou farms...he's enjoying himself far too much for a guitarist to
take care of his sexual needs.

How many conservative jammers have I disgusted yet? How many
conservatives listen to Dream Theater, for that matter? Yeah, I'm
generalizing with the term, "Conservatives," 'cuz that's the way I am!

    *Big-ass middle finger fling*

Heh! DTC AND homosexual content in one grand note! Bwaha!

    I don't mean to say that I'm conservative...I'm more of a well. If I'm
porkin' the keyboardist from Dream Theater, I wouldn't call myself that,
would you? Speakin' of sex and ackwardness, I juss saw this re-run (I
never saw it when it first aired) of Loveline with that comedian dude
Bobcat (forgot last name...oh well)....that had to be the funniest thing
I've seen on TV in a LOOOOOONG time! 'Course, the radio show's still
superior to the Money TV version. Busted a gut I did.

There are still a couple wardrobe numbers I wouldn't mind seein' the band
in once in a while. If Petrucci, or anybody in the band for that matter,
could swap between the GI Joe shirt, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    shirt, and a Voltron shirt, I think that'd rule! Oh wait...they're a
    generation BEFORE the Ninja Turtles....

One last note, Bafu, for some odd reason, Derek seems to keep calling
    your name when he climaxes.

    *shrug*

    Flame away my friends,
    or just...be a flamer!

    :)

Peace be with you and GOD BLESS!

You know, I'm genuinely disappointed in some of you Jammers
    tonight.

Michael Coghlan's opinions may not be popular, and I don't
necessarily agree with any of them, but he has a backbone... a spine... he
knows how he feels and he sticks to it. Most people are so spineless, they
stay safely on the PC bandwagon so nobody will think they're "insensitive"
or "evil". White liberal guilt. (before anyone jumps on my politically,
remember that I'm a registered libertarian, and that throws most of your
arguments against me out the window).

Think for yourselves, people. And when someone actually has the
nuts to stick with what they believe in, it's a damned crying shame that
the rest of you have to rip and tear at him like a bunch of MTV-News
anchors. Are you all so dedicated to the PC standard??

This isn't NDTC either. Our favourite bands, by and large,
represent a state of being that isn't popular these days. Kids today want
angst, anger, fear, and slackness (is that a word?)... they want to listen
to NIN, Marilyn Manson, Green Day, and so forth. Everything that our music
speaks for, those bands speak against. Everything our bands speak against,
those bands embrace. We are the dedicated followers of intricate, melodic
(Dream Theater), historically individualist (Rush), heavily spiritual
(King's X), positive, motivated, and dedicated (Queensryche), and
otherwise generally pro-active and pro-existence bands and lifestyles.
We're in this life for the long haul. We don't blame everyone else for our
troubles. We don't look to the fates or to Satan or to blind luck for our
fortunes... we carve them out ourselves, and some of us seek the help of a
divine being along the way. Just the fact that you're hardcore enough of a
fan of DT to be on the Jam tells me that you can respect the position of
someone with an unpopular opinion, and that you know that perhaps there
are times when the right way isn't the way you thought it was. And you
know that sometimes you're right, even though nobody agrees with you. I'm
willing to bet that's how M.C. feels _right now_.

That being said, I think you all ought to take back the stones you
threw at Michael, and keep them as ammo... we'll need them to defend our
beliefs and lifestyles as the world slides further toward the sewer.

    - Mike Bahr - durnik@goodnet.com - http://www.goodnet.com/~durnik

PS. Please don't anyone think I'm a doomsayer... I'm in this for the fun
of it too. But I'll be double-dog-damned if I'm going to let my opinions
be trampled upon... or watch the same happen to those of someone else.

already know about it that one of the best local prog acts, Mastermind,
are gonna be playing with Fish from marillion on July 19th at the TLA in
Philly...it should be one kick ass show...I got a chance to Bullshit with
the guys from Mastermind after thier awesome set before the Rush show at
the Sony Blockbuster Entertainment Center. They played on the second
stage there. If you haven't heard Mastermind then you should definitly
check this show out...they are un fucking believable...I was blown away
the first time I saw them when they opened for Joe Satriani at the
Electric Factory.....and then to see them at the Rush show was such a
treat...anyway if any of you get a chance definitly try to check this
show out...I will be there with a few of my friends from another great
local prog band...(by the way when I say local I mean south
jersey).....Atlantis...well that's all for me...Cant' wait for the new DT
    album.....

    >response someone would get if they said "i'm not black, but i have
    >strong opinions about those that are".... think about that for a
    >moment.

I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but that comment has nothing to
do with anything we've been talking about. How often does someone one day
decide "hmm I think I'll be black." Once again, I'm not saying i
like/don't like or agree/don't agree with being gay, I'm just saying that
being gay and being black are in no way analogous to each other, and I have
quite a few black friends that would take offense at that. I really hope
skadz jumps in on this topic real quick.

in other news, I was ICQ chatting with 2 of our good friends that aren't
with us anymore namely KorgX3 and Rip, and we added something to the
"buttered cat theory" which you all may or may not be familiar with. in
case of the latter, i'll explain:

cats always land on their feet. bread/toast always lands butter side down
(according to Murphy's law). therefore, when you butter the back of a cat
and drop it, it does not land at all. It just... floats. that's the
buttered cat theory. well, we added another hypothetical tidbit. since in
all multi-story plumbing systems turds flow uphill, we concluded (using
our infinite wisdom/boredom) that if you attach (velcro, staples, or i
guess you could just squish it on there, although if it mixes with the
butter it could be counter-productive) a turd to the cat while it's
floating, it will actually begin to float up! how far up depends on the
size of the turd, but it is recommended that you only use the turds of
small animals, because if you were to use a Bafu size turd, it could very
well send the poor feline into the stratosfere.

we also discussed the conspiricy that MTV and Guitar World magazine are
employing in order to turn the average musician/music lover into a grunge
musician/grunge music lover, but that theory is just, well, a little too
    far fetched for me.

    :)

It's called "Needles and Pins" by the Searchers. Needles and Pins was, of

reason why the song is there.

Ok, the last couple of jams had a couple posts about homosexuality. Now
it doesn't matter what I am or what you are or what anybody is(unless
you like/dislike them ;). But there was one post that I thought could
really start a flame war. I won't post it because if you didn't see it
that's better. But really everyone just don't post your opinions about

Well this guy did what the French call a "faux pas". Ya see Ignorant
Redneckish was derived from ancient French. And one of the things that
was changed is the 'I' sounds like 'a' not like 'uh' as in anceint
French. So, if we translate his phrase literally we get "I'm gay, but I
can't live with myself." Hope this helps you out D-Man and any others
    who were confused.

The jam is always better in the summer! How else could we get the a
whole KX review. That's turns into which songs are abortion
songs(pro-life/anti-choice whatever you want to call it)? I wonder what
    this will turn into? :-)

To whoever posted about that Image comic(I forget the name something
with a P) could you email the number and the title, pretty please.

I didn't see Coghlan spewing hate towards anybody. If I recall,
he, in more or less words, says he hates the sin and loves the
sinner. And in no way did he come across as hating ANYBODY on the
    jam.

By the way, D-Man, it WAS spelled right. Your e-mail program just
couldn't handle the truth. It had an accented 'e'.

It makes perfect sense. I, too, am very much like Mike. I have
several friends who are gay. They know I don't agree with
homosexuality, but that doesn't prevent me from loving them. That,
my friends, is an example of Christ's love for *everybody*.

And if you all think we're pushing our beliefs onto you, it's no
different than say King's X or Galactic Cowboys. Well, I guess it
is, because they're mass producing CDs, and all of you are buying
them, and even publishing the lyrics of some songs here. If we
formed our thoughts into songs, would you like us then? As it stands
now, this jam is free. Skip over Christian posts if you hate us.
    It's not us hating you.

    David
