            I just got this last post and I wanted to take a light shot at it. Please
    note: The author of this passage listed below put question marks after his

    What's wrong with groove? I remember a recent interview with one of the
    members of DT saying that they didn't groove enough, and that's what
    they were going to do on this next record. Does that mean DT
    has...[swallows] SOLD-OUT?????

    Now my response:
            Okay, okay... My last post was about marketability too, bad you have to
    admit: I&W sold because of Pull me Under.... Awake sold because of a loyal
    fan base and the same with ACoS... DT knows this! That's why they have
    come up with a more marketable group of songs, BUT in no way have they SOLD
    OUT. Selling out is changing your style of music. DT will always KICK
    your ass when you listen to it, DT will still amaze the shit out of you
    when they play, and DT will not cut their hair! (except DS..he doesn't
    count in that case..) DT will always rule!
            To narrow down what I just wrote: It'll still be progressive, it'll still
    be hard and soft (that's the DT style) and it'll still be fun to listen to,
    but it'll groove more. Latas...J

    Hmmm.

            I really thought Mike Bahr's post on good/poor songwriting was interesting, but isn't
    this just sort of like writing a book on how right your opinions are? I mean... good and bad
    songwriting is at the optical nerve of the beholder, when it comes to music.
            I have long categorized things the way Mike does there... songs that you never get
    tired of (Metropolis, To Live Forever, Monument (Fates)) and songs that you can't stand after
    a couple of months. It's really a good way of judging songwriting, for yourself. But a lot
    of people dig music that you no longer do... for me, I'm just getting into the Police now, and
    I know a lot of people can't stand em. I know Jacob's Ladder is my second favorite Rush tune
    right now...
            So it's an interesting concept, but not really valid on a wider spectrum. That's what
    I think, anyways.

    Hey, I noticed a little while ago that DT had an interactive demo, although I was pretty dissappointed when I saw it.. But I have this idea.. Most of the 'jammers are technophiles to some extent or another.. I'd like to know people's thoughts on making a multimedia CD on DT.. Not something I personally would be making, but perhaps something all of the jammers could contribute on that we could then send to their record company and have included on a future DT CD. Be curious to know others' thoughts and ideas. Include stuff like .AVI format of their videos, perhaps some interviews, D-man's own FAQ...? Perhaps some other goodies.

    I'm also looking to get some DT bootlegs.. I've got all of Mike Bahr's so something beyond that would be cool.. (okay, so I admit I only have about 5 non-Bahr bootlegs..) E-mail me private for these please.

    This is bullshit. If Al ripped off Pat in a trade, why is he still on the jam? At least Jeremy Haynes had the brains to disappear when he ripped us off. Al, you seem to know that you owe Pat tapes, yet you ignore it. This thread comes up every month or so, and we all have to be reminded that you just don't care about completing trades. You should not be on this list at all. I'd rather deal with talks about politics and religion, than have to share this list with someone who knows they ripped a 'jammer off, but doesn't care enough to rememdy the situation.
