Not necessarily. Anybody who was at the Berklee Rudess/Morgenstein clinic
heard Rod's story of when he talked to the drummer of the latest popular
band (he didn't say the name, just that they had multi-million selling
albums and big tours etc) and the drummer said that he hadn't seen any
money yet. I'm not saying this is common, Rod was actually making a point
about how drummer's often don't have much cash because they don't write
songs. However, don't assume big bands have lots of money.

    >The only other reason

Uhm, record company pressure? Poison had lots of fans, so did Warrant. They
didn't change or alienate their fan base and look where it got them. No
offense to that guy on here who always talks about how he loves these
    bands.

Oh, and Pat and Al, stop your shit. Nobody wants to hear it.

pretty well.. He does record lots of TV shows, phone calls,

actually, you're the one showing your true colors here. as far as i
recall Al hasn't been whining about this for the last god knows how
many years. whether he truly ripped you off or not is irrelevant
because you and he are the only ones who know. he's said he isn't
trading with anyone anymore... so get over it. if he indeed owes
you tapes, by now you should realize you're never going to get
    them... so get over it.

the issue should have been buried a long time ago. i do enjoy
reading your posts on here, but this Al vs. Pat crap is getting
*REALLY* old... drop it already man. it's dead. it's deceased.
    it's done with.

i swear to god if i ever meet the two of you guys in real life i'll

What? I think everyone knows you owe me tapes but refuse to pay up. So
how can you just sit there and say he knows nothing about it? Face it Al,
you know you owe me tapes and you ignore it. That is a fact.

Sorry to all about this sh*t but Al's last few posts have really pissed
me off. He just keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper. Also private
email with Al doesn't work since if you have a negative attitude about
anything he won't respond. He talks about sending this to private email
since it doesn't belong on here. He could end all this by just paying up.
He just refuses. This is all in Al's corner. I'm really tired of this sh*t.

Just got my Eternity X sampler in the mail.. Wasn't particularly
impressed, especially with the way they couldn't put one whole song on
the thing--they keep fading them in and out. =P The talking really
annoys me also. Is this band worth listening to? I can't really tell
    from this thing.

No kidding! You can't talk about Dream Theater here! This the Guitar-and-amp-Jam!

As for a remastering, how good was the original recording? My CD claims analog recording and digital mastering, so a digital re- mastering might not do jack squat if the analog tapes suck.

Well, I gotta go stereo shopping. I've finally caught up financially from the G.F. flood and the move to the cities, so it's time to replace my drowned stereo. Fortunately, it was a cheap BSR shelf system. Unfortunately, since then I've been listening to all my CD's on a 4-year-old Sony boom box that has more skips and drop-outs than an American high school...

Also, I haven't seen any reviews of Virtual Songs. I'm #123 (I think) and Mike is up to #70, so it should be here within a month. Is it as good as CM?

I remember your post a while ago about not having access to 2 VCRs, thus making copies for Pat was impossible. So my question is what's keeping you from just sending Pat money for the equivalent of tapes that you would've sent him had you had 2 VCRs? It's really not that hard.

In response to this incredibly heartfelt, intelligent statement, I would like to propose formally to Skadz that this list be made "post by subscriber only". Assuming that this idiot (or imposter :)) isn't actually subscribed, that is. I think that, along with the new, tighter rules, will help keep the list a somewhat more habitable place.

Of course, I think the list should be moderated as well, but I think I'm in the minority there.

Maybe Al is an undercover c*p, cracking down on bootl*gs and he's going to turn you in any second n*w. I have this picture in my mind of where you l*ve. Dark, dank...little Al Balkewhatever v**doo dolls all over the place with giant hunting knives st*ck through them..."AL WILL DIE!" written in bl*od all over the walls...frankly, quite scary. Just bought Faith No More's "The Real Thing" yesterday. Quality stuff...especially cool since I hadn't heard Epic in like 7 years. Flashbackorama. I also picked up Noise Unit's "Drill". Done Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb, the Front Line Assembly guys. Great dark techno/industrial/electro/dance whatever. Lots of freakish samplings..among them, the guy in Seven from the lust part..."He had a gun in my mouth. The fucking gun was in my throat! FUCK!" Sufficiently freaky for me. :) Mail me privately if you know anymore good indusrial/techno stuff that I should buy. Gracias, adios!

For those of you Y'Jammers who are also Stratovarius aficionados, KnightsoftheRound (www.knightsoftheround.com) has three of Strat's earlier CD's on their 'clearance rack' for $9.99 each. Also have a few other bands, like Royal Hunt, on the rack as well.

I just got word from a guy in the band, and he says they are only opening for Fates on five dates. I am not sure which five, but I would assume they would be the East Coast ones, being that they (DR) are from New Hampshire.
