thank you. i think it was cool that they listed my GC page before they

this was due to their amps. wally (on the last one) came in and didn't really
feel comfortable with the set-up used. on this one, he's had time on tour
and such to get the sounds he wanted. he's using a much cleaner distortion...

yeah... the MF vocals were simply not too much there... i think wally being
in on the writing process on this one helped tremendously over MF.

or do you just hate the "hidden" part of it all?
i do think it was stupid to hide them like the way they did...but as monty
said in an interview- it wasn't even their decision. it was a geffen
decision.
as for the songs, "ranch on mars" (#21) is _ok_...i love "still life of
peace" (#32) a lot. "still life" is probably one of my fav GC songs...
now all they need to do is have wally borrow ty tabor's sitar and then they
can play it live... :)

Hi everyone,
Someone was saying that they thought the cover for FiI was going to be
to be a guy floating away into the distance...I was thinking about this
and I thought it would be pretty cool if they had a object(guy, girl, my
lost manhood, whatever) was going _towards_ you. Anyway I started
thinking about the symbols(you = infinity; you are on the bottom; who's
falling?), and, frightened myself. Jeez, that's the last time I think
about the next DT CD until it comes out.

Hmm, the last question is for Skadz to answer. But I'll comment on the
shit above it. Ok, so maybe everyone in America owns a gun, has clean
teeth, and eats out once in awhile. But that's no reason to degrade
American culture, we can do it yourselves thankyouverymuch. ;)

I have to agree with this. The drummer in my band graduated with a
performance degree from Berklee, so he was exposed to a TON of jazz (in
his words), and he's turned me on to some great drummers (not to
mention the fact that he himself is SICK). When he plays rock/blues type
stuff, he's "Stoic Man"; back straight, perfect posture (he worked for a
chiropractor for four years, and learned the value of sitting up
straight - then he worked on the ergonomics of his drum kit for six
months!), eyes set, nothing funny about it. When he plays jazz, though,
his head falls back, his eyes close, and his tongue lolls out of his
mouth. And he does this at every gig we play, and the crowd eats the
shit up like candy. It's kinda scary.=20
See if you can find the Zildjian promotional CD - Dennis Chambers has a
piece on there that had me in the fetal position by the end of it. His
double bass was so fast I was like, "Mike WHO?"

I set up the fantasy football league at espn sportszone.
After you get your team, hit join a group list and select Ytsejam Fantasy Football League
I created it as a private league so the password is "majesty".
Draft cards can be filled out starting in August. The Draft for the YFFL is Wednesday August 27.
So all those jammers who are interested, join up. First come basis.

Ok there seems to be enough interest into an espnsportszone fantasy football league. I'll set the league up and let you all know what the password is. Password to only ensure jammers and friends of jammers are in.
For now I guess we should only keep it to Jammers. If we can't get 10 jammers then we should allow friends of jammers in. I'm sure that with enough word we can get 10 jammers to join.
So far we have: Jeremy C. Hallum <jhallum@bu-ast.bu.edu> L. Jason Hartman <lhartm1@gl.umbc.edu> Mike Blevins <BlevinsM@amsc.Belvoir.Army.Mil> Pat Daugherty <pdaugher@mcl.bdm.com>
If anyone else is interested then let me know.

I know Hammerjacks is gone (RIP). On the I&W tour DT did play at Pier 6 in Baltimore. They could play there again. Bohagers is supposed to legally hold 400 I think. Eric Johnson and some other less popular bands have played there as well. Is Gators in Pasadena still around? I remember King's X playing there once.
PS:Mike: my money for the ticket and cd went out today.

So I thought it would be a good time to recommend yet another movie on the ytsejam, "Contact". If you're a science fiction fan (and what prog fan isn't???), and if ID4 left you wowed by the explosions but wishing for a little meat to go with the filling, then you should try and catch "Contact". A great story that pays tremendous tribute to the romantic vision of Carl Sagan (the movie's based on his book of the same name, and although I haven't read it I understand the movie stays very true to the book).
Sorry for the NDTC, but it's so rare that Hollywood does science fiction right that I thought I should get the word out...

Those samples are used very often, usually in low budget movies. I've also heard it on The Cosby Show (some weird episode where Bill dreamt he was *pregnant* and gave birth to a boat and a huge sandwich). They also used it a lot on 'Another World' (soap opera). _____
For some DTC, could someone PLEASE confirm the origin of the samples that were used on 'The Mirror' ? I spotted them in two movies but so far they're still in the FAQ as :

Check the FAQ for the rest...
I'm pretty sure I'm right (only about 100 %, though) but it would be nice if someone would confirm it, for faq's sake ! :-) So, go out and rent those movies, they're pretty good too... Of course anything with Jeremy Irons or William Dafoe can't be half bad :-) _____

One thing I *DO* know... When the new CD hits the stores, the shit is going to hit the fan... We'll get lotsa crappy posts from people bitching about Derek, or because the cd is too heavy or too mellow, not 'proggy' enough, because the artwork 'sucks', because *this* or *that* song is not on it, because the songs were 'better' when they played them live in which case we'll get lotsa 'fuck kevin shirley' posts, because the Ytsejammers are not mentioned in the booklet, or just because they feel like bitching about SOMETHING and the new CD is IT. Hmmm... Mebbe I'll unsub when "FII" is released and get back on when everything is back to 'normal' (relatively speaking). :-) _____

The Electric Light Orchestra used to have one (until 1982, I think). Great stuff, been a fan since I was eight :-) Not comparable to any band I see mentioned on this list, though... Also, someone mentioned Eddie Jobson... He was also in UK... Check out "Danger Money" if you can find it. BRILLIANT stuff, proggy, jazzy... _____
