    >These are the latest Fates Warning tour dates
    >(some remain unconfirmed so check with your local venues):

Umm...I'm sure this is vital information, but can you guys who are posting
these dates get it together so there isn't one in every single digest? It's
quite a waste of bandwidth to keep seeing that list over and over again.

    >Keep checking the web site for updates! --

I don't have to! I'll just wait for the next jam! :P

    ----

And to whoever bitched about Mr. Farber posting crap to the list, and proceeded to RE-post all of the offending material back to the list again: Pot. Kettle. Black.

Please don't feed the trolls. (I know, I did it too. I'll stop too.:))

    ~Vince,

did you ever get "machine fish"...? if not, i can see why you'd be disappointed in the difference between SIYF and the new one. however, give it a chance. let's face it, they're not a "metal band"...just a band who likes making melodic music- some metal, some modern rock influences....

Hello all, The subject says it all. Well almost... The list has been updated for the month of july, so if you want the updated version, e-mail me. As of yet, it isn't updated on Rogerio's page, but I'll talk to him. Again, this list is a reference for trades in progress, not a source for new trades. Don't abuse it. Oh, and Contact sucked. Don't believe reviews to the contrary. It was a pale imitation and combination of Close Encounters and 2001, I don't care when the book was written (I honestly don't know). It was at both extremes poorly acted (Angela Bassett, Rob Lowe, and John Hurt) and overacted (Jodie Foster and James Woods). Only Matt McConaughey was good in his role, but his character was pointless and irrelevant in most scenes. If you want good, intelligent sci-fi, rent last year's The Arrival: amazing movie! Only Star Trek: First Contact has come close in the past year. That is, of course, excepting the immortal three, the "Holy Trilogy"... heheh... -- ______________________________________________________________ "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter..." -Yoda, the Jedi Master ______________________________________________________________ Andrew Forcier a.k.a. Hello, I deleted 30 or so of the last 40 Jams due to having some time off from work, so if I touch on some old subjects, feel free to not kick my ass. By the way, South Carolina rules (well, Charleston at least). Any Jammers from there? Why own two copies of the same album? If we're talking album as in recording, I bought the CD, then the tape of Extreme's III Sides album when I found out there was an extra track on the tape. Then I found out why they left it off the CD... Jazz drummers: buy any Branford Marsalis album with Tain Watts on drums, or any Miles Davis with Tony Williams. These guys are sick. And I won't even mention Buddy... Used CD stores in NJ? I live in New Brunswick where we have the FANTASTIC Cheap Thrills. Also in the area are Barracks Trading Post, The Record Setter, Sam Goody, and my favorite CD World. And did I mention Contact sucked? -- ______________________________________________________________ "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter..." -Yoda, the Jedi Master ______________________________________________________________ Andrew Forcier a.k.a. Yeah, so like a dipshit I accidentally sent some private email to the Jam. I hope this didn't upset anyone too much. :)

Anyway, I did finally get my stinkin' paws on Marcel Berkhout's 'Carpe Diem' bootleg CD, and I was wondering, the few of you folks out there who own this puppy, if maybe you have any idea how many of these gems were actually made. Much like the esteemed Mr. Bahr's CD projects, this one is numbered (and burned on a CDR).

    Anyone know? Anyone?

Thank you. Bring on the noise.

First, to Joe: I found it necessary to get up out of my chair and roll around on the ground, cackling wildly, and worrying my neighbors, in order to enjoy "Gay Digest" to its full extent. The people that live near me are now convinced that I am unwell and need medical attention. Thanks. :)

Second, to MojoMan: Nice timing, ya goon. :) I couldn't have made up a story as funny as that one. Welcome back. :)

Third, to everyone: I thought of another one of those ways to tell how fucked up you are by how many CD's you have. The way I see it, there are at least three tribute albums that have members of DT on them, a couple of tapes (MMTBH and ChromaKey) that have past members on them (namely, Kev), and a handful of things that have *future* members on them (Winter Rose, etc.) How many do *you* have? Personally, I have three tribute albums (Rush, Queen, and Tull), one KevMo (MMTBH), and one future one (Derek on Brad Gillis' "Gilrock Ranch" album). Talk about a complete collection. :) Oh, and I'm sure I have a copy of the Wayne's World soundtrack floating around somewhere. Anyone know if that counts?

Fourth: Not to out-do Joe (cause that just can't be done), I'm working on my own parody, but it's top secret until I finish. (Like you can't figure out what song I'm mutilating. :)

Mr. Weckl ain't a bad drummer. But I'm not one to talk, because I know jack about good drumming. The material I'm most fond of are Chick Corea Electric Band 'Eye of the Beholder' and 'Inside Out'. Dave Weckl, to me, is a motherfucker on these albums. And the music is kickass as well.

He's got his own signature line of footwear man! Anyone with their own signature line of footwear has to be a God (or a basketball player...) I remember my drummer friend was all anxious to get a pair, thinking they might improve his drumming. he soon decided thereafter to play barefoot. Go figure... heheh...

I completely agree with Itchy. Sorry for continuing with this thread, but... I'm really not sure, but methinks that you don't need to sign the jam to post in the jam, isn't it? If it wasn't, then we would not have those "please, how do I subscribe" messages (that surely are not as often as the "how do I unsibscribe" or "stop sending me this shit", but they exist, believe me). Just a thought...
