Well, if there isn't one I'd be more than happy to start one. If you've
written one and you'd like to include it on the page, or there's one that
you think just must be included (I think I've deleted the Space Dye Vest
one) just email it to me and I'll put it up.
Still waiting for the ACoS parody,

PS: What did you all think of my first attempt (The Killing Jam)? Good?
Bad? Worse? I need comments, people...

1. Your analogy is perfect.
2. Explain to me why they aren't. And keep in mind I'm unfamiliar with
many of the rules of, and systems present within, music.

Lots of people think the way you do, Ernie. No reason to feel ashamed,
it's me who's in the small minority with this musical topic.

Nyet. Much older than Erotomania. Plus, it rarely ever gets caught in a

For anyone who has tried to respond to me and got something bounced back, it's: drnewb@mo.net, NOT Dale R. Newberry@mo.net. I have no idea why it's doing that, and I'm trying to get it fixed. Anyway, as for Ratt, I have no idea if they have a new one out, but I do know that they are playing at Pop's Annex (one of the biggest hoosier bars I've ever seen :) in Sauget, IL (5 min. from downtown St. Louis) sometime toward the end of July. I can't remember the exact date off hand, though. In other news, I got that Ozz Fest CD thing (that you mail in for if you go to the fest) in the mail today. A pretty decent sample of some heavy bands, and it was free (+3.95 S&H).

There have been about 6 so far in the latest "outbreak". I've saved them all, but I hadn't decided what to do with them yet. I suppose the old classics (like "Pull My Finger") should be included too...

I have. Good CD. Not quite as heavy as the last one. Not as chunky, or polished. Good songs, though. It's got some gems. "God of Hate" is on it.

I got my copies from Frank Hart at Cornerstone this year...but YES, the website is the only way to get it for now. No label yet. (to get to the AO site, go to my GC update page & follow the link)...

Salutations from the management and staff of Ytse-Survey II (me):
We have passed the halfway point of the survey, and we are on pace to easily surpass our goal of 150 participants. Keep it up, guys! For those of you who haven't yet, e-mail me at syoung@phnx.uswest.net with your 10 favorite 'non-Dream Theater' bands/artists -- Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m., July 31st; at that point, the entries will be compiled and a Ytse-Survey II champion crowned.
Current statistics are as follows (as of 7/19/97, 9:30 p.m. AZ time):
Number of entries: 106 Number of different bands/artists mentioned: 291
Current Survey Top 10 (with number of entries): 1) Rush (57) 2) Queensryche (56) 3) Savatage (42) 4) Fates Warning (41) 5) Megadeth (27) Metallica 7) Yes (23) 8) Steve Vai (22) 9) Angra (19) Iron Maiden
Just when you thought Rush was going to run away with it, QR made up a lot of ground and now only trails by one entry. Savatage appeared to have conceded 3rd place to FW, but now THEY have made a big run and are ahead of FW by a vote. I believe we have discovered which 10 bands/artists are the most popular among 'Jammers. This Top 10 has not changed in almost 3 weeks, though the order has changed, and there doesn't seem to be anybody at the moment to directly challenge Angra and Iron Maiden for 9 and 10. But, who knows. We still have a ways to go.
Other bands/artists making the 'honorable mention' list (11 entries or more -- in no particular order): Genesis, Yngwie Malmsteen, Marillion, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani, Shadow Gallery, Stratovarius, and Superior.
We still have 12 days to go, but don't delay -- SEND TODAY!

Since you freaks like Final Fantasies so much, take a trip to this site. Pretty kewl... http://www.azstarnet.com/~cbaoth/final_fantasy/music.htm It has midi files for all (I think) of the songs on FF3. I think they were all ripped off of the original CD or something. It even has a rock ballad version of Celes' Theme that is pretty nifty. Quite impressive. I personally like the 21 minute finale midi.I've never heard midi sound so good. A couple of the songs are missing, tho. (Tis a bummer, no?)

Alot of these DT Parodies I noticed seem to be complaining about the jam. Let's try something silly for a change. I checked myself earlier and this popped into my head. Here's my new piece entitled...
To Sniff an Armpit
Once I started a new job And went to work for Dow They paid me salary To sniff an armpit To sniff an armpit
The anti-perspirants have burned My nose so bad But I must admit Some of them smelled real good They smelled real good
Some people ask Why I do this for my life "I do it to meet chicks, It's how I get my kicks."
My nose made me really rich My nostrils get me chicks
(Great vocal Harmonies here)
Until one day Ban roll-on made me sick My nostrils had led me astray I now get paid to roll cotton on Q-tips Let someone else get paid To sniff an armpit...
My nostrils ache My eyes water My sense of smell is lost forever
And rolling cotton swabs I recalled The words said by the last person I sniffed She said, "You don't have to sniff my armpit, You don't need to sniff my armpit."
And I realize something now It's gross to sniff an armpit.
Enjoy! KorgX3 KorgX3@cyberhighway.net

'To Post Forever' (04:54) - (Studio - from the "Die!!!" single) - Itchy Petrucci
If I'd read it from the top And used my 'Page Down' There'd be no reason To post forever To post forever
The derangement has turned Me outside in And the digests flow A zillion across the world Across the world
Why did I post For a change from disgust It's time for a change For some DTC
They will always be insane You will always be insane
Intolerance from those liars as defence My heart never felt this dismayed As long as I've to reply without content Then there is no reason To post forever
I flamed you bad They flamed me back The flame wars just go on forever
The newbies are asking for answers I saw them all in the FAQ D-man wrote Skadz said 'You won't have to post forever, The bastard's been banned forever.' And everyone's bitching now I don't want to post forever

'Wait For DT' (02:31) - Itchy Moore
Starting up my Windows Play a game of 'Doom' Hoping that the 'Voices' will reach my mailbox soon I read my private mail Delete my Ytsejams unread The flames are getting way too coarse for me I've been on too long to send my unsub message in So quietly I wait for new DT
I stare at my posters And try not to blink And think of the songs I've been wanting to hear again But the disc's not yet done
Got 'Burning My Soul' on my memory And then there's 'Take Away My Pain' God give me a demo of 'Just Let Me Breathe' Or a date with a red headed dame :-)
Where is the single ? I hope it's 'Peruvian Skies' With bsides and demos Or hey, still better yet An EP with part two of 'Met' How long have we yearned for a tour Yeah a tour 'round the world
