Cassandra was a character in a Greek play. I don't remember the title but
I read the play many years ago. Cassandra could predict the future, and
like everyone entwined in Fate's thorny garden, she could never change
what she knew was going to happen. To say one feels like "Cassandra
fleeting" is to say that one feels like running away from the inevitable.

What the HELL? Did Vince build one of those machines from "Contact?" Does it properly summarize the situation to exclaim "What the HELL?" Is anyone else feeling kinda spooky?

Why wait? She's gotta be at least 11 by now. Prime meat.

    hahahaha

The two problems with the otherwise rip-roarin' soundtrack to "Nothing To Lose" are (1) it features a song by Coolio which bastardizes Pachelbel's Canon. I didn't have a problem when P.M. Dawn ripped off Tears For Fears, and I was able to let it slide when the Fugees ripped off Enya. But Pachelbel? That's hallowed ground, G. (2) Even though Keb Mo and Morphine are all over the soundtrack in the MOVIE, they are nowhere to be foud on the actual soundtrack ALBUM.

Hi, Been on holiday for a week and missed everything - gutted. Did Mike say that "Where Are You Now" hasn't made the final cut? - gutted again. This album is gonna be a stonker if that isn't good enough to make it. Cheers, Dave (a UK Jammer).

Does any of you guys have a DT guitar transcriptions book?

Just picked up Threshold's Extinct Instinct this week. Wow, this is really one of the best cd's I've purchased recently. Now, does anyone know if there is a (good) Threshold website?

Quite confusing band name BTW. I searched for a threshold site at yahoo, I found one, but it turned out that that was another Threshold (from the US and not from the UK). On that site they stated that they were going to have to change the band's name because... they found out that there was already yet another Threshold from the US (bet they never ever heard of MY (british) Threshold. To make it all even worse there is a dutch band named Treshold (no H). That makes three Thresholds (two US, one UK) and one Treshold (Netherlands)...

    Geez

well, either the time was set incorrectly on whatever machine sets the headers on vince's mail (which i've seen happen before). or, he lives in arizona, where they don't use daylight savings time. therefore, since they don't "spring forward", they are 3 hours behind EDT, instead of the normal 2 for the rest of the mountain time zone. thus, he could have read a message sent at 9 oclock eastern time, and it still would have been 6 oclock for him. or maybe i'm just on crack, but i heard it explained that way once...

Have 'em come to BOSTON and I'll help!

Looks like 8/04 or 8/11 would be the logical date to weave 'em into.

The Paradise, The Orpheum, or if you're feeling lucky Great Woods (over 20,000 seats) or Foxboro (60,000).

Or even a college. I know a few people from BU who might go :)

Hello, Plowing through 15 or so Jams, made it halfway methinks. I've been posting a lot less than usual (stop cheering). To any and all who might care, I retrieved all that was stolen from me. All my CDs are back in my possession and I only have to live in fear for 2.5 more weeks before I move. Pretty cool, eh? Oh, and join the (prog) tape swap. Go to Swifty's page. Submit. From Mr. Blevins, on Contact: >Man, that settles it - the only thing we will EVER agree on is SOME >music. The Arrival? Give me a break...

Ahem... So you don't care for my taste in sci-fi sir? I have to say that I would have given Contact a passing review had it not been for one key scene. You see, the entire movie was about taking people and things on faith: i.e., Jodie Foster took the existence of aliens on faith, Matt McConaughey took God on faith, and the people of the world (and the audience) were supposed to take Jodie on faith for her story about her trip. But the maker of Contact, the of-late unreliable Zemeckis, didn't think we , the audience, were intelligent enough to see this, so he put in the scene with Angela Bassett and James Woods about the 18 hours of static to MAKE you believe her, therefore violating the intent of the movie. Apparently, Mr. Zemeckis has little FAITH in the viewer. And this WAS the interpretation Zemeckis intended, as he has said in interviews. But all of this was on top of the lousy performances and the overall self-importance of the movie. I was more impressed with Zemeckis's Back to the Future movies than this one. Oh, and I put The Arrival in my ten best from last year, just so you know. My recommendation for this week: go to the video store and rent Lone Star. Fantastic writing and directing. Unlike some sci-fi movies... The goon: >"rev. daddy love"

Every time I try to remember this band's name, someone says Reverend Horton Heat, and I tell them no, it's a different band. Then they say I'm a moron and there's only one band with Reverend in the name. Thanks for making me right. For once. Brian, on farber: >the first jammer to complain about it gets kicked off the list.

And what about then other hundred who do? I think Brian just wants to make sure he's exempt...:)

    >would it be possible for someone who owns the Lie and Silent Man >singles to make me a CD - R of them?

I second this idea. The Lie single is something I miss having on CD in my library...

    Hmmmm...

If the last DT CD was called Awake, this one should be Breakfast. Just the natural flow of things...

I wonder what Enchant did with the barbwire, after they took DT's heart to put it on their Wounded CD cover. I also wonder how they put the fire out.

If the members of DT were Phil Rudd or Vinnie Appice (drums), Jimmy Bain (bass), Marky Ramone (guitar), John Tesh (keyboards) and Scott Weiland (vocals), I bet not a single one of us jammers would be here today.

I wonder if someday we'll find out that John Myung actually owns a chain of strip joints and has an affair with Cicciolina.

Finally, if Mike has a daughter named Melody, I think KJLB should have a daughter named Rhythm, just in retribution :). If I have kids someday I should probably call them Images and Words :).

Enough wasting bandwidth... take care y'all.

about the "inside, commin outside, inside, commin outside" part of 6:00, is that about MP's pet parrot Memory comeing home, then deciding it was a bad idea and leaving again?

why is it everytime i listen to Surrounded, i get a vision or Atraou (however you spell that) rideing on a luck dragon, maybe its got something to do with the Ivory Tower, or maybe ive just seen that movie too many times, or hell maybe im just crazy, derranged.

hmm "30 years say were in this together"... is JP talking about his parents or his he like 50 years old? if he's not 50, i am supposing, what about the line, "cant let them rape me again", maybe thats about his uncle? or maybe hes just like the dude in korn. "your venom's not family here", maybe his uncle had a pet cobra, that wasnt excepted into the family? "i show you my hands, you dont see the scars" wow, talk about full of himself. does he really think he's jesus?

"yes, its 180 degrees but its a dry heat" is he crazy? does it really get 180 degrees in houston? i remember living in arizona, and newmexico for a long time, and the most i ever remember it getting was 122. and about jumping in a swimming pool, this guy who said that is obviously not from an area that gets dry heat. you try jumping in a swimming pool when its 100 degrees, and a dry heat, the pool water will be about 99 degrees, i had a pool when i lived in arizona, and almost never used it cause the water always got too hot. who knows, maybe someday thanks to global warming, that statement could be true. maybe aliens will come down from another planet and live in mexico and help increase global warming so they can take over our planet. maybe they're already here?

i always wondered something about the DT video in tokyo (the legal one). when kev was in the shop making fun of the word "engerish" i wonder if that would offend JM? its kinda making fun of asians and their way of speaking engrish. i dont know, i maybe be right, i may be crazy. or i just may be the lunatic your looking for? who knows?

b.t.w. i just got a scanner the other day, 30 bit color, thats awesome, for you non-computer nerds, thats over a billion colors. my puter only supports 16-bit color though =(. not that 32,768 colors arent enough. but anyway, if you guys want any DT stuff scanned for your pages or anything like that, just email me, im not gonna charge you for something that will take me a second to do, now if you werent DT fans, then i'd have to charge you.
