I've got it - it's pretty cool, although they picked too many songs
    from the black album. :P

    Howdy -

I went searching through www.scream.org for the Ryche set list prior to
Geoff's ailment. I know there was a request for it by someone, too. BTW, I
found a list on the page that is really close to what I saw the band perform
at Darien Lake last night. Here you go, in case anyone cares:

    http://www.scream.org/mag/Setlist.1997

Last night's show was incredible. Knowing what I did about the general
makeup of their set list, I was preparing myself for a disappointment. I
walked away pleasantly surprised. The band, predictably, did not play Take
Hold Of the Flame, but they did play "I Don't Believe In Love" (I think I
read how they dropped that one, too, following Geoff's cold). They even
touched Rage For Order - acoustic "Killing Words"!!! I was VERY happy...
they also did Della Brown, which was a bit of a surprise. Absent was "Get a
Life" (THANK GOD!) and "Bridge" (I was shocked!). All in all, it was a great
show. The band sounded great and Geoff was dead-on perfect the whole night.
Even the newer songs sounded great! The Voice Inside, You, Reach, Sign Of
the Times, and Some People Fly were the only nw ones they pulled out. I
actually have a newfound appreciation for the newer material now that I've
heard them in a live setting.

Anyway, I'm still basking in the post-concert afterglow. I also think I saw
a Jammer one row ahead of me in Section 101, Row 6. Sorry, dude, I never got
a chance to say hi. I had a Home For the Holidays shirt on. I think you had
a Jammer sweatshirt on. Ah, well. Gotta run. Ryche Rulez!!!

If you liked those two that much then I would suggest getting Edge Of
Thorns. EOT was the first of the Zack Stevens era on vocals. Great Disc
as well. I have trouble ranking EOT, HOR, and DWD. They are all great!

I know. What a bunch of slackers... Over 800 people on the list and only
3+brother are into fantasy football? Come on jammers. Join up. If you
have never played before it is easy and it is a lot of fun. Gets you
interested in every game every weekend. I know there are a lot of sports
fans on here so join up! Go to espn.com and hit the fantasy football link.

What happened to Jason Hartman? He was the one who mentioned FF and got

And I thought I was the only one to love that CD (DWD). =)
If you liked it, you should check "Streets", another rock opera, which
is awesome too. And other cool album I have is "Edge of Thorns", great
    stuff too.
Liking DWD, maybe you could wait till next xmas and get the
Trans-Siberian Orchestra album, which contains "Sarajevo 12/24" and
other songs... (BTW, I hafta get that one for me...)

I've heard it, and it's pretty interesting... Very nice album (their
version of "Master of Puppets" is very cool). Maybe you can hear some
part in RealAudio at CD Univers (www.cduniverse.com), but I'm not
sure... Anyway, you can find the CD easily over the Internet.

Well, if this is the CD you brought here at home, then I think that it was more interesting than "Streets". Or is that another one?? Well, maybe I have preferred that one (the one with some forest I think on the sleeve -- am I dreaming??) because maybe "Streets" is harder to get into, you know... It is longer...

I have only two words to describe this cd: f*cking incredible. And I usually don't use that type of words. :-)

Yes, the middle section of "Master of Puppets" seems like it was written by some barroque composer. IMO, the best songs are the older ones, but the ending part of "The Unforgiven" is also very nice. You can really appreciate Metallica's work with this CD if you are not into thrash.

    > part in RealAudio at CD Univers (www.cduniverse.com), but I'm not > sure... Anyway, you can find the CD easily over the Internet.

Well, I'm thinking of putting some sounclips on my homepage (longer than those you find at CD Universe, CD Now etc.). I have many plans to improve my homepage, but I'm have a severe lack of time... :-)

    See ya, Roger...

Well, I agree with you. I only wished they'd put "Orion", "When Hell Freezes Over" and "To Live is To Die". BTW, it would be a *REALLY* loveable idea if they put out "Apocalyptica plays Metallica pt. II".

[]s hoping for another cover album, Roger...

P.S.: What if there existed one "Apocalyptica" like album covering songs written by Dream Theater??? Humm... Just an insane thought... :-) -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Rogerio Brito - rbrito@ime.usp.br - http://www.ime.usp.br/~rbrito Undergraduate Computer Science Student - "Windows? Well, IMnsHO, the other Savatage discs you should get, in order:

Trans Siberian Orchestra: Xmas Eve & Other Stories Savatage: Edge of Thorns "" : Streets "" : Gutter Ballet "" : Hall of the Mountain King

And, of course, their new one should be similar to DWD, from the previews I've heard.

Stop when you hit a disc you don't like; they just keep getting further from the DWD sound as you go. (Actually, the 'DWD sound' is only on the two you have, plus TSO.) If you like all of the above, you might want to buy the rest of the early stuff, but it all sounds pretty similar. (Boo! Jay just dissed the 'tage! :)

    No particular order?

    Looks alphabetical to me. :)

'Twould be interesting to sit the boys down somewhere, and make them play insipid grunge tunes for a while. See how much 4/4, 3-chord rock it takes before one of them just goes ape shit and breaks into a huge solo in 13/8 time with a key change every two measures...

The recent subject of whether death metal and progressive metal blend well brings me to Cea Serin.

Although I'm not really supposed to reveal much about this until it is complete, I will say that I have had a chance to see the vocals being recording and this is going to be some interesting stuff. Cea Serin is the product of Jay Lamm, bassist for the progressive metal band Ashen Dawn. Cea Serin is some HIGHLY original music that mixes progressive metal with a dosage of death metal and a lot of black metal influence too. It sometimes has clean vocals, sometimes growly, sometimes death, sometimes black metal shrieks. VERY interesting stuff and I'm not just saying that because I know Jay. This stuff kicks serious snarg.

Jay has begun a website where you can learn more about Cea Serin and Ashen Dawn: http://members.aol.com/CeaSerin/CeaSerin.html

Check it out. It's far from being complete but I think it's something to look forward to in the future.

I noticed the lastest standings for the survey on other bands besides DT and was shocked not to see Spock's Beard mentioned anywhere. For those that don't have The Light and Beward of Darkness you are missing the two best Cd's since Awake. "Beware" is amazing and a must for anyone prog fan let alone DT fan. Just had to comment on this misjustice so to speak because I don't care that much but you know how it goes. Take the time.

That's an especially good idea, especially if you fear shrieking. Jon was a shrieker. I did like the tracks he grunted on DWD though. Shrieking sucks.

Anyway. I just got Enchant's Time Lost in the mail today. (Thanks to Rick A. for giving me the name of the place to order it from). Anyone who wants it visit http://www.musicexpress.com/ They're a real good place. I got my CD in about 2 weeks. It did cost $30 though. International shipping costs suck leg.

Anyway, what I've heard of it so far kicks ass. Much like stuff from Wounded, but that's because these first four were recorded during the Wounded sessions. I haven't got to hear the earlier stuff yet. :) If you like Enchant. Order this, or wait until the my website goes up, cuz I'll start a weekly MP3 thingy so's ya'all can download them. CD quality even. :) I'll only be able to put one or two at a time (space permitting). Overall play time is 53 min.

    Anyway, party on! KorgX3 KorgX3@cyberhighway.net

Anyone know where I might find an MP3 or two of these guys. The only sound clip I heard made me think . o (Suck Leg) but I dunno. The clip I heard was the equivalent to introducing someone to Dream Theater by showing them the instrumental part of Metropolis. It's really great playing but waaaay fucked up. Any info would be much gratifico or something.
