Hey! I eat Indian almost every day.....maybe that'd explain
something......
in other news, I saw a movie yesterday that was long, slow, black and
white, subtitled, and utterly one of the coolest flicks I've ever seen.
Jean Renoir's "Grand Illusion".....World War I story....a pilot and his
upper class colonel get shot down and captured by Germans, and their life
as PoW, their attempts at escape......
watching it, i was reminded of "The Great Escape" (Attenborough, Bronson,
DOuglas (i think) and a buch of other great names, another great war
movie)......that took a few things from grand illusion.....
If you've seen it, go to the internet movie data base and vote for it, it
need about 60 more votes to be eligible for the top 250 on that site....
Partha
guess what album I went to sleep listening to......

I'm going. I got my ticket yesterday from Mike. I used to work in Tysons
but that is a little far from Springfield. Hopefully someone knows about
some decent places to hang out at. Also going to the show is Brandon Elhai
<belhai1@gl.umbc.edu>.
Since there seems to be a ton of people from the jam going does anyone
want keep track of all who's going?

Yeah, it was good to put some faces to the names Eckie, Vince (and I forget
the rest already <G>)... Sorry I couldn't hang around longer, but that 2 hour
drive back to Tucson (and work the next morning) was looking grim after Fates
finished at 1:20...<G>... but well worth it!
>I'm not the biggest Fates fan in the world (far from it, actually) but I

Yes, the show was really great... here is the setlist, I think this is right
(correct me if I'm wrong):
A Pleasant Shade of Gray
<first encore>
Face The Fear
Life In Still Water
The Eleventh Hour
<second encore>
??? - Didn't recognise this one, and Ray was running around the stage with
some crew member so I couldn't really hear what he was singing, any
clues?
Monument
We Only Say Goodbye
Pretty cool, long set.... You could see the owner of the Mason Jar giving
them the "cut" signal at about 1am, but they kept going <G>...
>I still think the setup for the under-age crowd SUCKS. We were the ones
>makin' the most noise, that strip of kiddies lined up next to the

Yeah, it does suck for the under age crowd (they should just stamp the
hands or something), but at least they let people in the club... plenty of
venues are 21+ only, and that's really a shame...

Boy, I am sorry i missed out on that! <G>.... maybe next time...

I think that's why all of us listen to DT to some extent or another. =
That's definitely the reason I'm a DT fan, I can't play any instruments =
at all but still listen to them not to go "wow, they're good!" but =
because I like what I hear. There's a DT song for just about every way =
I'm feeling, whether pissed (Lie's a good example) or depressed (WFS, =
Surrounded)... Of course I will concede that they *are* good, since =
I've started comparing them to other things I hear on the radio and =
other groups I hear talked about on the Jam, and DT's music is so much =
fuller and complex then most of the rest. There's a lot more feeling in =
it too.. good example here is the start of Scarred, JP almost makes the =
guitar sounds like it's crying. BTW, am I the only person who thinks =
this? :)

It was nice to finally meet some ytsejammers last night eventhough I was
a little buzzed after the show. :-) Finally able to put the faces to
email names.
Like Eckie mentioned, they were awesome!!!!!! Ray's voice...WOW!
For the 2 encores, they played (not in particular order) Life in Still
Waters, Monument, Face the Fear, one song I didn't recognize,The 11th
hour, and We Only Say Goodbye, then they left. (did I leave anything
out?)
During A Pleasant Shade of Grey, some stupid idiot raised both his hands
with thumbs down and Ray noticed it and kind of threw a look that was
like "why did you do that for?" I was standing right next to him and
wanted to punch him out but gave him a real nasty look instead, he left
shortly after that. What an idiot.

Sorry for the NDTC, but can someone please e-mail me the set list for the Queensryche show before Tate got sick? I'd like to know exactly what I missed in last Sunday's show and I can't seem to find it in the multitudes of Queensryche pages on the web.

Seriously, dude, I didn't mean any offense... it's just that this type of thing has happened before, so I was skeptical. I really do hope you get a copy of the tune. And I hope you make a nice MP3 of it for everyone else. :)

Athiest, Arcturus, Nocturnus... there are a few progressive death metal bands out there.

Don't have it, but I wish I did! I have most of the songs on it, so I passed it by.

Shrapnel Records. Ominous Guitarists from the Unknown SHW-1057. Check out http://www2.shrapnelrecords.com Shrapnel puts out the vast majority of all shred music out there. I don't agree with the quality of the contracts and the way they do business, but if you want shred, this is where you're gonna find it. > This album is very good. That would be Ron Thal. Yes, THE Ron Thal. :)

I personally don't have a website, but once I get the tape of the new single I am more than willing to e-mail a zipped wav file to somebody that will put it on the web for everyone to hear. The problem is going from tape format to wav. I don't have a tape player, but I have some friends that do. I think that my sound card has an line-in jack, but if there is another way to go from tape to wav I sure would like to know. Anyone interested in getting the file (once I get it) on their site please let me know. Joe -- The Joser jrwee@gator.net Gators #1! http://members.aol.com/mindscap/

I don't remember exactly the date, but if you go to the Screaming in Digital site(www.scream.org) and do a search under "tour set list," you'll be able to find it.
Hope this helps!

We were expecting some new DT material to be played while Fates was getting set up.... but we got Silverchair instead. :P If that isn't the most absolute WRONG music to play at a prog metal concert, then the Spice Girls are.
But beyond that, the concert kicked ass! Heh...the dood standing in front of me even got his cigarette lit by the singer! Pretty cool....

Ahoy,
Hey- Michael Harris fans and metal fans in general - Michael Harris' band from years past has a new album out! Arch Rival's new release "Third Degree Burns" is available through Knights of the Round www.knightsoftheround.com! According to Mike, the album has a heavy 80's metal sound and is so far getting great responses... I'll post a review when I get mine! You can also order from Michael himself. Mail him guitout7@aol.com and ask about the new album... also : I would highly recommend picking up his previous two solo releases "Defense Mechanizms" and latest "Ego Decimation Profile".... since they too rock... later! · • Colonel Mustard • ·
