Oh yeah one good thing about there being no one at the show was there was
no traffic getting out so the normal 2-3 hours sitting in your car was
    only about 15 minutes...

I thought they sucked IMHO. I found them boring. I thought the lead
singer was a look a like of the Offsprings lead singer. The lead singer
all he did was hop up and down. Annoying in my opinion. I thought their
name was Poor or Whore until near the end of their set when I saw the
letters FOUR on their very tiny monitors. The woman bassist was the only
bright spot... The band itself was your typical wanna be alternative band.

I'd put my money on the former. I know Joe, and I don't think he'd pull

damn, I wish that was the case with me on Sunday....The Fair
ended at around 11:30, but it was about 2:30 before we even
bothered getting in the car. Thank god for leftover tailgate
beer (for me) and the insane amount of nitrous for the rest of the
            people...

Why can't these so-called engineers realize that when you build
a place that can hold 25K people, there should be a respective
change in the roadwork in the area???? I mean, they did a very
good job with Giants Stadium, I know that Yankee Stadium is a
horror (thank god for subways), and I could imagine how Camden
Yards must be, just from being there a couple of times....

            oh well..........just ranting

By the way, can someone please E-mail with the name of the
guitarist who does Paganini's Caprices? Wasn't it Elliot
Fisk or something like that....I would appreciate some
album info (company, date, etc.) if possible.

                                    Thanks in advance,

Did anyone catch QR at Nissan Pavilion on Sat.? What did you think of the opener? (Just curious - we lost this competition...)

Let me first ask what type of music you play. The band that opened "Four" was typical of DC101 (Alterno-thrash) but I didn't really think it went over well with the QR crowd. Why DC101 picked the band is beyond me since you never hear QR on that station anyway. 98Rock would have been a better choice for selecting band but who knows who would have won. Suffice it to say, I hope you guys are much better!

The show at the Nissan was good but not as good as PL. You could see Geoff coughing in the background between songs and the setlist was altered due to giving his voice a break. It was still an awesome show regardless of illness

Get a rackmount wah. They don't break as easily. Plus you can program them to do all sorts of different wah sounds :)

Crybabies have "pots" that need to be replaced every so often, and Morley's generally turn to shit after a year or so. There may be exceptions, but I would never buy another morley product again after my old PWV that lasted about a year before the tone began to suck.

I just came back from Milwaukee Metalfest XI, and I'm sure most of you would have hated it. It was basically a large collection of a bunch of obscure death metal bands, with a couple you might have heard of: Exodus and Stomtroopers of Death (a Scott Ian side project).

Anyway, it was really neat, the band I basically came there to see, Obituary, had a autograph signing session, and I got the entire band to sign a flag I just bought of their second newest album, World Demise.

Which brings me to my point: Besides being damn happy about the autos, I have noticed some metioning of Sepultura around here, and for those of you who like them, try some Obituary. Their kind is rare: a non-satanic death metal band that can really play, and occasionally has a message to their music (World Demise is about environmental issues, e.g.). If you can stand the classic growling, mostly indecipherable lyrics, then you'll probably like them. Great guys in person, too.

Rocky, the reason I did get my undies in a bundle is because I know people like that, and they piss me off to no end. I had assumed that subscribing to a DT list would help me escape the ignorance of the average music listener, so when I saw that, I went nutso.

Tool has not left a CD player since I got Aenima. They are truly unique, and not many bands today can do the psycho shit these guys write, and actually make it into a good song. I love his lyrics, too. These guys are, how do you say it, mildly outspoken.

That's my waste of bandwidth for today.

I actually don't much care for McDonald's -- I don't get sick on anything, but the grub is a little flat. I hate to bug you guys about this after I already have once, but...

Is anyone going to the QR show this Saturday night who can give me a lift? As I mentioned before, I'm not from the Boston area, but I'm here for the Berklee performance program, during which the Indianapolis show also was, so I got tickets to this one instead. I was planning to just take the commuter rail, but my mom(you know how they are ;-) ) is worried about me getting from the train station to the arena, and then to a hotel for the night(the show ends after the last train leaves back to Boston) and so she's bugging me to ask someone.

    Thanx!

    Jammers:

I went to a Record and Tape Traders today and found the import single of "sign of the times." It also has two unplugged tracks (silent lucidity and the killing words). The 4th track on it is a song that was on the Japanese version of HITNF called "chasing blue sky." Pretty cool, laid back song. I think of driving in open country when I hear this song.

Also ended up going to the Nissan Pavillion show this past saturday. I was supposed to meet a friend of mine who came down from New Jersey (who happens to be part of the fan club). Anyways, I see her and she throws a t-shirt at me with autographs from QR on it. I couldn't believe it. I don't know why she bought a t-shirt for me and was willing to get it signed, but hell, I'm not complaining. She's a die hard fan so she came with some internet Rychers. I met Skadz's equivalent Shag (who runs The Screaming In Digital digest) along with some other netters. Pretty cool people.

QR put on a good show but they cut the show about half an hour early because of Geoff. I was kinda upset about this. I really wanted to see THOTF live as well as "walk in the shadows." Well, at least I got to see TLWB and Della Brown live. They did a better job on the Promised Land tour, though.

Oh yeah, before the show there was this guy playing an acoustic guitar right by the t-shirts and food areas. When I showed up, I heard him playing "over the hills and far away." Then he ripped into some Rush songs. The best part was when he played 2112: overture acoustically. Pretty interesting version of it.

All in all, I had fun, but next time they better play for at least 2 hours or else I'm gonna have Dream Theater kick their ass.
