Has anyone seen MP's clinic video? I'd love to check it out, but I'd
like to know a little about it before dropping $40.

Finally some DT content arose here! :-)

Here follow two ideas that I'd really like to see in practice:

            - why not release live videos for each tour concluded? I mean,
something like Metallica has done with "Live Shit: Binge & Purge". That
would really kick ass and drop the number of fans hungry for new material
(although DT has been having a lot of trouble with their label, but this
doesn't mean my idea is uninteresting; only a bit unpractical, maybe
    (I'm not really certain that it is that unpractical));

            - why not put release a special edition album with rare tracks
such as "To Live Forever" and "Eve" and some demos as a bonus CD?
(something like Iron Maiden has done with their "Best of the Beast": they
have released at least 3 versions of this album: the single one; the
double without booklet and the double one with the special booklet. Dream
Theater could do something like this, I think).

BTW, these are only my insane ideas for the moment, subject to
    change anytime soon... :-)

            See ya, Roger...

    Hello,

    >Does anyone have any idea of DT tour dates coming down the pipeline?

There is an outside possibility (way outside) that they may open for Queensryche on the East Coast from talk in 'Ryche circles, but I wouldn't hold your breath. And thanks for being polite about your request. Welcome to the Jam!(See Eric, I'm being nicer...:)) Tour dates, as they are available can be found on the DT website http://www.rsabbs.com/dt/ Merlo said: >This message is for anybody that has heard TLF and liked it: get the >Lie single.

Easier said than done. Some of us have been trying for two years now... I heard TLF on the IAW tour when they played in Agawam, MA. When Awake came out, I just wanted Lie to have the single, then I got the LiT vid and liked TLF even more. Now I have the Uncovered tape, and I'm clawing my hair out to find the damn thing!!!!!! Thanks to Marcelo for giving me something to go on... Oh, and sorry for posting three times in a row to the last Jam, but there was actually DT content in my head for once!:) -- _____________________________________________________________ Andrew Forcier a.k.a. I was tempted to do business with That CD Place because they are so close to where I live (living near Buffalo, NY) but the selection is not that great.

    Today's New Releases:

Seven Mary Three- Rock Crown (pretty cool album...they surely do not sound alternative on this album though...I think they redefined themselves as a more straight-ahead rock band now) Flotsam And Jetsam- High (should be coming in the mail tomorrow or Thursday...highly anticipating) Bruce Dickinson- Accident Of Birth (still have yet to purchase)...

I really have to beg Mr. Bahr not to go through with his newly invented delivery system. Sure, it probably would make shipping faster, but unfortunately it also gives American residents a huge advantage. Since the ones who pay first would get their discs first, obviously the CD's will be sold out before the Euro-customers' payment arrive. An e-mail however, travels equally fast no matter where you send it from. Secondly, I know americans are used to paying by cheques, but in Europe we can't simply make out a cheque and send it to the US, because the banks over there won't accept them. So, we either send cash, or we get a special cheque at the bank. The only problem with these are that they are real expensive, they cost almost as much as the CD itself, which leads me to believe that many Europeans would rather take the risk of sending cash (at least I do). And if the CD's are already sold out when the cash arrives, well what then? Maybe I'm overseeing some obvious solution to this problem. If so, please point it out!

Yeah, actually. They've copped to being really into Alice in Chains in a couple of interviews with them that I've read. I, too, think they're pretty cool...maybe a little derivative, but even Rush sounded a lot like Zeppelin at the outset.

Just to make a point: Historically speaking, haven't folks generally referred to the winner of the 100 meters as "the world's fastest man?" Why in hell, then, do we need a 150 meter race to decide if that's still true? Bailey's not likely to win a 400, of course, but is that what we're asking here? Ah well....

By my reckoning, they'd be called "Mexicans." Just curious how you're conjugating "Mexico" to "Americans." They certainly are, incidentally "Norteamericanos."

    >In my personal opinion, it is unfortunate that the US appropriated the >generic (where have I heard that word before?) term "American" and >made it apply only to its citizens. Yeah, it's a good point, but, because of the population base and political clout and worldwide commerce and any number of other factors, those folks who like in the US are often called "Americans," both in the US and throughout the world (though, of course, not so much in the countries of North and South America, where there are several people, like the ones here, who don't like the origin of the term).

Yeah, Berkeley's got some good record stores, particularly the ones on Telegraph, but most of the Bay Area doesn't really feature great record stores. I'm actually pretty well-acquainted with the LA record store scene, so, if you're struggling a little, I can make a few recommendations (now THERE'S something that shoulda been in private e-mail, huh?).

    >PS: If anyone is interested, Accomplice is playing this Friday in Lakewood, >CA, e-mail me for details if you are interested (Dr. Mosh?).

Yes! They're an AWESOME band, eh? They've really been the definitive prog band down there, at least in the South Bay, for quite a while. So, hard as it might be to catch that local phenomenon, I'm HIGHLY recommending the band to anyone on this list who has the opportunity to cross paths with them or their CD.

Just a few quick notes. All of these are mint condition originals.

    FOR SALE...

John Myung "Progressive Bass Concepts" video - Japan - $30.00 Mike Portnoy "Progressive Drum Concepts" video - Japan - $30.00

Being as how I'm not in a band anymore, it's really not necessary for me to own these. :)

    Also...

Dream Theater "Uncovered" 2CD boot - Japan - $50.00 (RS gig, soundboard) Queensryche "Building Empires" video - USA - $10.00

I bought the laserdisc of QR so I no longer need the tape. Also the DAT of the Uncovered show that I managed to obtain is near-identical in quality to the Uncovered boot, and I already had DATs of all the bonus tracks and such. So basically these are ballast in _my_ collection, yet I'm sure someone out there would really dig having them.

Don't worry folks, I'm not hurting for money... just time to do a little culling of the herd, of stuff that's perfectly good but that I just ain't using, for whatever reason.
