The YtseAsshole of the Millennia (plural intentional) returns (until Skadberg
    kicks him off the list).

    > - why not release live videos for each tour concluded? I mean,
    >something like Metallica has done with "Live Shit: Binge & Purge". That
    >would really kick ass and drop the number of fans hungry for new material
    >(although DT has been having a lot of trouble with their label, but this
    >doesn't mean my idea is uninteresting; only a bit unpractical, maybe
    >(I'm not really certain that it is that unpractical));
This is a great idea. Which means it probably won't happen. The record
company wouldn't do this until Dream Theater becomes mainstream (like
    Metallica).

    > - why not put release a special edition album with rare tracks
    >such as "To Live Forever" and "Eve" and some demos as a bonus CD?
You're obviously not familiar with the mindset of modern label execs.

    >There is an outside possibility (way outside) that they may open for
    >Queensryche on the East Coast from talk in 'Ryche circles, but I
    >wouldn't hold your breath.
Speaking of Queensryche, would anyone happen to have decent seats to the
Camden, NJ show they want to get rid of? Because of getting home from school,
I wasn't able to get them when they went on sale. I'm looking for good seats
(not the kind I can get by getting them through TicketMaster right now).
Why should you help me out? Because I can pay you a little more than most
    others (probably).

    >Easier said than done. Some of us have been trying for two years now...
    >I heard TLF on the IAW tour when they played in Agawam, MA. When Awake

    >and liked TLF even more. Now I have the Uncovered tape, and I'm clawing
    >my hair out to find the damn thing!!!!!!
I had no idea it was so hard to find. It was very easy to find when I bought
it in '94. (Now I understand why Mike Bahr wanted $25 for it.)

    >I was reading a post from the Queen list where someone posted
    >that Lars Ulrich is a better drummer than Neil Peart, on a techinal
    >level. Can you believe it? Lars is a better drummer than Neil Peart?
Sure. In the same universe where Courtney Love has talent, Elvis Presley is
the "king of rock and roll," and _Rolling Stone_ is a good magazine. Compared
to many of those commonly-held beliefs, the "Lars is better" argument is very
    plausible.
But not when someone actually uses their head. (Not that many people do
    nowadays.)

Maybe that explains why I have such a low voice.

I don't give a flying fuck about "prog", I listen to what I think sounds good.
Just *try* to tell me that GNR, Allman Brothers, or Sabbath (three of my
favorite bands) are prog. I think she sucks a big fat cock. Half the time she
just whines and shrieks, and when she tries to *gasp* actually carry a tune, she
demonstrates her *complete* lack of any sense of melody. I'd rather listen to
racoons going at it under the porch.

I have the Home Sweet Home boot and it's great!! It's from October
1992. It's from the very begining of the I&W's tour. James
sounds AMAZING on this one. He's doing all sorts of extra high
notes and stuff like that. Sounds quality is pretty decent too.
    Not a soundboard.

    Set list :
    Under a Glass Moon
    OAMOT
    Surrounded
Status Seeker (mislabeled - it's actually PMU)
    Ytsejam
    guitar solo (moon bubbbles?)
    Another Day
    Killing Hand

"Bear this honor in my NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME" sounds as clear
as a bell. Plenty of vibrato and no raspiness at all. Wow!

    >In the latest issue of German Rock Hard Magazine James is quoted as having >said that during the whole Awake tour and the ACOS recordings he had serious >health problems with his vocal cords and that he was therefore only able to >use about half of his vocal power.

That's pretty stupid of him - he could have ruined his vocal chords permanently. Should have brought back Charlie Dominici to fill in until he was better, then we could hear him sing Innocence Faded! Yeah! --- Some other chap wrote:

    >>Secondly, I know americans are used to paying by cheques, but in >>Europe we can't simply make out a cheque and send it to the US, >>because the banks over there won't accept them. > >I sympathize with your situation. What would be ever so much easier is if he accepted payment via credit card. It'd make it so much easier - until then, I won't be ordering anything, even though I'd love to. --- Another scribbled:

    >> I was reading a post from the Queen list where someone posted >> that Lars Ulrich is a better drummer than Neil Peart, on a techinal >> level. Can you believe it? I read somewhere that John Petrucci was a better guitarist than the guy from Bush.

    Yeah, right!! :)

    Watch out for these guys:

Aaron Bell "salyavin@ames.net" Joshua Galicki "jfgalick@rs01.kings.edu"

The first guy (Aaron) sent me the worst dub I've ever seen after weeks of pulling teeth just to get him to send it to me. He constantly lied to me saying he sent the replacement or that my address was wrong and it was sent back and had me waiting for nothing for weeks (while I sent his tape his right away). I'd rather be told I'm being screwed than this sniveling baby bullshit! And to top it all off, he assured me this wouldn't be another "Pat vs. Al pt. II".......friggin' asshole.

The second guy (Joshua) even acknowledged that the concerts (two tapes) I sent him were great and he would send mine soon. After repeated e-mails asking where mine were I'm convinced this prick just left school and couldn't care less.

So chalk up another two deadbeats who don't have the brainpower to press "Play" and "Record" at the same time and come back two hours later. Its flakes like this that screws it up for everyone else.

Watch out for those two losers.

Well it finally happened, after looking/waiting for over 2 years, I have at last a copy of the 'Uncovered' gig in my hands. Quality is damn good, must be soundboard, judging by the lack of crowd noise ? My faves are the Yes medley it smokes and 'In The Dead Of Night' is great too. Strangely missing from the tape is 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun', I would have liked to have heard that one.

Anyone have a copy with 'Happiness' on it ?

Q: >Suggestion: I want more prog. metal. What about Fates Warning? What about >Conception (from Norway?) And finally what about Dream Theater. DT is THE big >prog. rock band in the world. Thousands are waiting....

A: Just added Fates...to the playlist. Ray is an old friend from his demo/club band days. Still waiting for DT cd's from the record label.

Try out the Internet radio, it's cool but you need Real Audio 3.0 installed. http://www.hardradio.com/ I suppose sending an email will encourage the station to play DT.

I saw two days ago, a great catalog, from the cd store Hellion. They are selling the Silent Man EP for $17.This catalog also has a big list of DT boots (including cds with demos) and a lot of DT videos. I saw on this video list:

Uncovered show A concert in Milan, Italy, (including new songs)

I'm sure dudes you can take a look at this shop.

Yes!! I was going to comment about them when somebody mentioned them on the 'jam a couple months back. They had a song that was called Last Chance and it was phenomenal (especially since the time that it was recorded was very early 80's).
