    Fellow Jammers,

I want to remind all of you Queensryche fans out there that there
will be a LIVE broadcast tonight at 9:30 EST (6:30 PST). You
don't know what radio station it's on? Check out http://www.scream.org/
for the listing of stations carrying the concert. Some stations may
record the concert and play it at some other date.

Anyways, I hope someone can get a good copy of this on tape or
DAT. I'll be trying my best to get a high quality recording of the
concert, but I don't know how my receiver is holding up these days.
If I get a good copy of it, I will definitely put it on CDR media. If I
    don't
could someone who records it notify me so we can work some deal out?
This concert has tape trading (or CD trading) all over it!

    'Ryche on!
    Bogie

Also, I'm into jazz like Bela Fleck. Would someone recommend a Chick
Corea album that I would like?

Tell me, did they also spell the band's name right on the plastic insert

I don't actually think the quote is "unhappy." You may be "unhappy" with the quote, but the adjective doesn't look like it belongs where you've put it. In any event, Lars and I are agreeing somewhat here. I DO think her songs are catchy, memorable, and hummable. I think she'd struggle coming up with a meaningful melody line on top of musical passages that shift between 9/8 and 7/4. But that isn't where her appeal is.

In any event, what Lars has said is certainly tenable and not, at all, "stupid," whether or not you agree. I certainly WOULDN'T say it's crap. I like Dream Theater and Fates Warning more than Alanis Morrissette, Rush more than Metallica, but, after that point, I think we diverge. And I don't think of myself as an idiot....

    no one?... none? nowon? noone?

I was reading through the lyrics for Awake (yes, again) and I have a nominee for "THE MOST CONFUSING LYRIC" on a dt album:

"The child will crawl to find you" wtf?

For the life of me I can't figure out what that could mean. I mean I can make some wild guesses but nothing I would write down in final jeopardy! I wasn't on here when AWAKE was released (who was?) so I missed any discussions about any songs/meanings..

    anyways, on another channel..shhhhht..

I was at the used music shop, well its actually a bookstore.. go figure, and I saw a tape for Fates Warning (inside out)for about two bucks used. I already have it on cd but the point is that don't forget to peruse through the tapes sometimes. I mean if your just looking to check something out a $2.00 tape may be all you need. I happened to find "Toy Matinee" the other day for a buck, hey, it was worth it! The tape section also has LOTS of old 70's/80's stuff... and tapes are boy poor's car cruising music! >>Systems Analyst, SWPS Weapon >>Fratricide Data Management Team

THANKS MUCH! i've been looking for these settings for a long time now. The ones I've been using were from an old guitar mag that just shows a couple of stomp boxes and dial settings. Nothing specific and it sounded close, but not quite right. I'm gonna be tweakin with my RP-12 tonight! :)

I've been using the delay for awhile now and it DOES make all the difference. Much better than the preprogrammed crap in these little toys we got. :)

If your looking for great Paradise Lost stuff, by all means check out Draconian Times as was stated but also check out the prior release to that called Icon. And watch for their new album, One Minute due out in July. I have a CD with a track off the new one called Soul Couragious and it is very different but none the less awesome.

The longest Savatage song that I know of is Alone You Breathe and Chance both clocking in at near 8 minutes. Sure not progressive but definitely fucking amazing....

As for DT releasing their album by July, I heard so many different stories about the new album which is why I barely get involved in the "when-the-hell-is-DT-releasing-their-album" threads. Hope it does come in July though.............

Actually, from what I know, there are transcription books for all DT albums (except for ACoS, which I don't know about) that were published some time ago in Japan by some company called Shinko Music.

They have complete scores for guitar, bass, vocals, drums and keys. Something I don't know is about the availability of those books, since I bought the I&W and Awake books about two years ago (any japanese jammer knows about this?). Don't expect any super-accurate transcriptions, good cover art or LtL ( noo!:) ), though.

Vince, I have that issue of GW and I have been struggling with acheiving the same crunch tone that it lists in that article. I have a TriAxis, by the way... the greatest amp in the world... , and on lead I red... at 6 and 4.5 for the gains, it just doesn't add up. I tend to want my own sound anyway, which is fortunate for me, i guess, but, what preamp are you running and what do you have it set at? I tried the delay thing and you are right, that does add tons of balls to the tone. well, just me rambling here... bye.
