actually that's 2 ep's. And the record industry doesn't seem to recognize
WDADU much, so in this case they only have 2 cd's...
Now the actual point of my post... Could any guitarist who owns or tried
out a SansAmp, Art Xtreme, or Xtreme+ email me info on it. First of all,
does it sound good(duh) and second, how much control over the sound do you
have? i.e. how many distortion types? EQ? Sweepable mid? Or if anyone has
any recommendations on getting a good distortion for around $200, id also
appreiciate it. I just need something relativeky cheap which wont give me
a sound that makes me cringe so I can play in a band while I'm in Panama
(Im planning on going to Boston around January, if everything goes well)...
ok dats dat. thanx

I forget Live At The Marquee. Not because it sucks or anything, it's a
killer disc. But because it wasn't released here in the country I live

You're so lucky you don't even know it. Two championships with so huge a
gap between them, etc etc. Heh. Move here. In the history of sport, there
has never been a professional championship team in Arizona. Ever. In
college there has been exactly One... the U of A wildcats (hoops '97). I'd
say you don't know, and never knew, what true "long suffering" _is_. :)
Ah well. It happens. Congrats Red Wings. Go Coyotes in '97-98!!

I am SOOOO glad to see that so many Jammers are hockey fans. I live for the
sport (bought the DSS dish so I could watch 20-30 games a week...). Now that
I've seen my two favorite teams win the Cup - Rangers and Redwings - i can
now truly say "I CAN FINALLY DIE IN PEACE".
PS - only 90 days till training camp
Also, if any who lives in the Detroit area has an extra newspaper from Sunday
that they can sell to me, please email with the info.
Thanks - Chung in NYC

Hi all
just got back from a diving holiday in the south of France (where the Francians
come from) to find 28 jams in my mailbox. With a feeling of apprehension I set
about the task of reading them, only to find that the list hasn't changed much
in my absence - the usual in-fighting, the return of Aniseed Whatshername, the
long-awaited revival of the various nationalist groupings etc. - it's stuff like
this that reminds me of why I joined up all those years ago.
One of the CDs I took to France with me was 'Nighttime Birds' by The Gathering.
It was also the CD that I didn't bring back with me - the guy who was the
skipper of our dive boat asked me what I was listening to one day when I was
preparing the dive plans for the day, and that was the last I saw (or heard)
of the album. He was hooked immediately. So if you haven't heard this album,
do yourself a big favour and get an earful of this great band as soon as
possible. (I went an bought a replacement copy this afternoon). Does anybody
else here dive? (muff diving doesn't count)
While I was in town to buy the replacement CD, I dropped into the used CD shop
to have a quick browse. They had three copies of the latest offering by Fates
Warning at DM 15 each. Hmmm...
Is it just me, or are there other people on the list who dislike most of these
singer/song writer types, regardless of their gender? I find most of them very
egocentric with a strong tendency to whine.
Any news about the new Vauxdvihl album?
stay safe and happy listening

That's funny... If they're so great, maybe you can explain why no one has
offered to buy it then. I actually like Savatage, especially EOT, but
this album just didn't do it for me. As far as the negative view in your
post, maybe you could have looked at it as being a great deal for those
who are interested in hearing some of this bands material instead of an
insult to the band.

Makes sense to me. I've only reveled in the bastardized version of the
food, though, as there are a couple of place near where I work (San

amusingly named Falafel Express. In any event, I still love the damn

Whoops! :) I'm from Minnesota, Dave McCarty used to play for the Twins,
Try Darren McCarty... it was the beer talkin, I think.
I just read the Detroit Daily News Web Edition. I didn't know
that Fedorov was playing with 2 broken ribs, and Draper had to have the
tip of his pinky finger reattached after Game 2 of the Second Round.
That's guts, I'm telling ya. THey deserved to win, playing through that

Yeah, I remember him winning a few awards of one kind or another a while
back, right before the whole neo-classical thing kicked in and raised the
technical bar for hard rock. Rush is my favorite band, so I wouldn't say
Triumph is THAT good, but they were an awfully strong band, a part of that
next class down that I enjoy very much.

I actually like "Surveilance" a lot, but I think someone whose just getting
into the band would probably be better off with one of the first three
messages. I don't think "Edge of Excess" is THAT bad, but it ain't the
band's high point, that's for sure.

Hello jammers,
A few brief words. First, some people have been asking about
Triumph. I haven't seen anyone mention it, but Rik Emmett (former
guitarist) has a really good homepage where he answers fan questions,
has a bio, and addresses the split with Triumph (unfortunately he
thinks the other guys really screwed him over on the legal side of
the split, and thus has no interest in a reunion as a result). All
this and more can be found at this address..
http://www.servtech.com/public/dsdame/rik/
Not to dredge up old threads, but I have an observation about APSOG
after having it for a while. I really like it... and for those who
say it's quiet, boring or whatnot, I liken it to disc 2 of The Wall.
Great songs in between quiet interludes.
Finally, I thought I'd pass along a cool website, for anyone who
likes weird stuff. It's the urban legends homepage.. it clears up
the stories behind a whole range of weird rumors, issues, and such.
The site is at http://www.urbanlegends.com . Enjoy!
Sorry for the NDTC. As usual. :)
