    hi all-

well, i re-subscribed to the jam this morning. it appears the whole
eternity-x thing has caused quite a stir. so i wanted to offer some final
    thoughts-

-i've apologized on the newsgroups to eternity-x and anyone else offended,
and i wish to do so here as well. while my intentions for initially
emailing them were peaceful, and all correspondence with them after that
point was as well (at least i tried to keep it peaceful), posting their
private emails to my web site was not. was this wrong? perhaps. illegal?
no. unethical? definitely. i still feel strongly that their attitude,
inflammatory remarks and content of their emails to me were way out of line,
but it was also out of line for me to take it public.

-through all this B.S., i've lost sight of why i'm on the net in the first
place... to meet new people and promote my music. i do NOT want subtlerage
to be remembered as the person, band, whatever, that got into a flame war
with eternity-x. that is NOT the publicity that i want. i wish i would've
realized this before taking the actions that i did, but it's too late for
that now. i just want everyone to realize this.

-judge eternity-x for yourselves. don't boycott them for their words to me.
why? how's rush for an example? everyone universally knows how Peart has
been known to cut fans down and be incredibly rude. do you, after knowing
    this, still listen to them?

that's about it. let's not clutter the jam with this anymore, so if you
have anything to say in regards to this, contact me directly at the address
    below.

    thanks for your time.

No, I meant the FG that is formed by the keyboardist of Echylon. But I
now have a new question was the rod fully in his head or was it sticking
    out? ;-)

Well, in one show Chair Face Chip-n-Dale tried to write his name on the
moon with this laser thingie. But the Tick stopped him, while he was
writing the 'A'. Also, later on in the series some spaceship hits the
moon and a big chunk of the moon flies off. I love that show! :)

    Hey guys-

I can understand why some of the older Rush albums are being re-issued as
remasters, but why are such albums as "power windows" and "hold your fire"
being re-issued as well. These albums were done in DDD format and sound
extremely polished. I mean, how much better will a remastered version be?

A little fun fact for ya all, although someone touched upon it in jam =
#2628...Finneus Gauge (or maybe the guy's name was spelled Phinaeus or =
something...i dunno...but ANYWAY, Gauge was a charge "setter" of some =
sort: he would put charges of dynamite in stone blocks and blow the shit =
out of 'em. So, one time, he was planting the charge, and *BOOM!* the =
thing goes off. Now, the rod that contained the dynamite shot out of =
the cement going like a billion MPH, and went straight through Gauge's =
skull, taking the center portion of his brain (called the limbic system =
-- it controls primal urges and some memory) with it. The crazy thing =
is, Gauge lived! So, he went through life lacking the primal urges that =
so many of us take for granted! Hope it was as entertaining for you as =
it was for me when I learned this story. =20

There are three reasons that I can think of.
    1) Mercury probably thought, "If we're gonna do any, let's make it a
    complete set."
    2) Mercury probably thought, "If we leave one out, someone will be pissed
that we left out their favorite album."
    3) Most importantly, Mercury definitely thought, "The more we re-release,
    the more money we'll make!"

My co. has been experiencing network problems.

    I'd like to know:
When is there next album coming out?
    What's their tour schedule?

If any of you know this info, post it the next jam.
    thanks,

I think it was a result of no other band wanting to commit to opening

Yeah, one of my many alter egos has a few accounts through these guys.
They just beg for you to rip them off... :)
Hey Dale, could you let me know the order of the bands at Ozzfest if it
isn't too much trouble. Thanks! Hey Al, you still going? Let me know.
Little reminder: the downloads of new DT songs sound like crap. The
band would prefer that you wait till the finished product is out and not
listen to "bootlegged" versions of the new material.
In the last week I've seen Cheap Trick and The Moody Blues (at Birch
Hill and Great Woods respectively). If anyone cares, let me know. Heck,
I may post reviews if I get bored...
G3 live disc: major disappointment. The only good songs are the last
three and Cool #9. Oh, and Joe, thanks for releasing live versions of
songs you already released live versions of. :P Some of us did buy Time
Machine you know. The Vai stuff is cool, but EJ's set is lacking in any
feel. The guy is just too intent on playing EXACTLY right. The jam
tracks are good, but not great. A substandard memento of an amzing
    concert experience.

    Deidre, welcome to the list!

I understand where you're coming from, but you need to stop and consider a couple of things...for one, we can't just talk about Dream Theater all of the time, as much as we'd like to, we all pretty much know everything about them by now. The second thing about the Ytsejam mailing list, and probably more importantly, is that we're kinda like a family here. If you'd been around here as long as some of us, you might understand the ongoing posts of concern about what happened with Andy and Matt. There is a friendship and alliance amongst many people on this list, and if you remain a part of it and people here get to know you, you might find people are just as concerned for you when something bad happens to/with you.

Don't worry Deidre, the thread will blow over like everything else around here, and you'll learn to skim the content of the 'Jam for stuff you really care about, and if you're like me, you'll figure out that posting a request asking people to stop a thread only gives it more life.

Anyway, welcome to the list. You *WILL* find some very useful information in here from time to time, so I hope you don't get discouraged. If it wasn't for the Ytsejam list, I wouldn't have met John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy last summer, or gotten my DT bootleg (WDATU) autographed by Mike. You'll also find out about shows and clinics before the rest of the world.

Cool, I'll check em out. Also, see if you find Screaming Headless Torsos in the bargain bin. I found the CD there and it was my best buy of the year so far. I call em a progressive rap band. Killer percussionist + a drummer, awesome vocalist/rapper, and super funky guitar player. It's a 5/5 stars in my book.

Yeah, that was cool Al. Now do me a favor next time, save your money for next CD purchases and pay back Pat. Ok? Pretty please?

    Walter.

Trust me, this stuff is great. :) It's about 1/2 instrumental and 1/2 vocal. And it's 99% keyboard driven. Also pretty proggy in a lot of places. Did I forget to mention it's great? :)

Yah, no shit he's kewl! Corresponding with him through e-mail, he was real friendly and professional, and even sent me a free demo. Knowing these guys are signed makes me feel all funny inside. :) BTW, these guys rock, if anyone hasn't noticed. :)

I saw this in the paper the other day and found it kind of interesting...

NEW YORK CITY (AP) - John Petrucci (guitar player for the musical quintet "Dream Theatre") has been suspended from recording for 2 weeks and fined $15000 for the comment, "I just can't get in sync with this (expletive) ingrown toenail. And you can quote me on that." Report is he's due to give a public apology to toenails worldwide. Broadcast time has not been revealed as of press time.

Jack Stotzman, a podiatrist in Pullman, Washington was stated as saying, "I see several patients with ingrown toenails coming in and out on a daily basis, and never have I seen such an aggressive attitude towards one. Most people deal with them, but this blatantly ignorant, discriminatory attitude is uncalled for."

Sarah Bradford of the National Ingrown Toenail Association of America (NITAA) demanded the apology and requested Mr. Petrucci's enrollment in a toenail rehabilitation clinic.

Mr. Petrucci was also quoted as stating, "Toenails are a pain in the ass. Why the hell do I need them? All they do is rip holes in my socks." The comment sparking commandments for stricter penalties to be handed out.

Fellow bandmate Mike Portnoy stated, "I had no idea John (Petrucci) was so prejudiced against his toenails. We often wondered why he never would talk about them." Bass player John Myung refused to comment on the subject.

Apparantly, his comments seem to have sparked a group of anti-toenail revolutionaries to lay siege on a podiatry clinic outside of Hayden Lake, Idaho. The ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Administration) has been called in to correct the problem.

Now back to our regularly scheduled jamming... KorgX3 ibanez@cyberhighway.net "I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offense against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face." - Mandorallen, Baron of Vo Mandor
