Dave:
Symphony X is indeed the first album by these guys, and if you liked
'Damnation Game' so much, then there should be NO DOUBT that you will
absolutely adore Divine Wings. DWoT is one of my very favorite discs now,
and I have practically been listening to it constantly in the car back and
forth from work daily for about 2 months now. Every time another disc starts
playing, I find myself saying 'Let's just hear Symphony X one more time:)'
This disc is a bit heavier than DG but IMO is way better. Bottom line: The
longer you wait to buy it, the more time you have wasted.

Alright! It's me. If I could help you,sorry I'm busy these days,so it's
very hard for me to send CDs. So please contact on-line music stores. I
think Gold has it. They're CD shop (@Tokyo,Japan).
Their URL is

You can get it easily from them.

Since I have never heard Tori Amos, I can't say much about that, but
Megadeth? Progressive? You can't be serious. They're straight ahead metal,
not progressive. After all, they toured with the likes of Savatage and Dio,
not DT. While not taking anything away from them, because it's obvious some
people like them, I can't fathom calling them progressive.

Never heard of Echolyn, Enchant or Altura, nor have I heard Marrilion, so
I can only agree with you on the other bands. However, as I stated a number
of jams ago, Savatage isn't really a true progressive band. I have every
album, plus two shows, so I'm familiar with all their material from '83 to
the present. Up until '94, I've always thought of their music as "well
crafted power rock". With Handful Of Rain & DWD though, I've seen a
tendancy towards the prog genre. I classify them as borderline progressive.

What the hell are you guys talking about? There was no Powerslave played
at the Pittsburgh show, and I can't see why they would play it anywhere.
Does the Wicked World jam refer to the Suicide Solution medley which
incorporated Over the Mountain, Symptom of the Universe, Diary of a Madman,
and Believer? Never during the Ozzy or Black Sabbath sets did I hear
Wicked World or Powerslave. I think you guys either don't know your
Sabbath, or you're smokin' just a bit too much Sweet Leaf.

I don't know where the bassist came from, but that could be correct. I do
know that he looked really dumb on stage (reminded me of the ugly Spice
Girl who always wears the sports outfit). He had pigtails in and looked
stupid. Aside from that, I didn't think the rhythm section of Ozzy's set
sounded together at all, so my view of the bassist deteriorated even
further (as well as the drummer). But the same drummer kicked my ass
during the Sabbath set, so he reclaimed his existence in my book.
BTW, I kinda dig the Infectious Grooves too. Sarsipius' Ark is killer.

I actually think the NMS is a pretty decent list. The list IS a little constrained and I don't spend nearly as much time sending stuff to that list as this one, since most of the topics HAVE been chewed through a few times, but I still would recommend the list to a Rush fan. And Syrinx (http://syrinx.umd.edu/rush) has a much better base of information than A Show of Fans does, I'd say. Even if I'd like to see more of those article transciptions (there haven't been too many added lately).

Hi Olaf, habe Dein Tape erhalten, vielen Dank dafür. Die Petrucci-Flamenco-Imp. ist echt gut! Einziges Problem: Beim Pariskonzert, hast Du vergessen Dolby reinzuschalten. Schade.

I agree that Blizzard was a landmark album for Ozzy, and metal in general, but Diary (even rushed) has better songs, and better playing by Randy. Also, the replacement of Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley with Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo made a huge improvement in the execution of the songs. Daisley and Kerslake are great musicians, but I definitely think Diary is far better. Randy's solos are better on Diary too. They're great on Blizzard, but masterpiece on Diary.
Together, Blizzard and Diary are a 1-2 shot that will never be matched. All hail Randy.

Hello, Okay, in light of all the recent trading talk on here, I have come to the conclusion that we need some kind of mechanism that will increase the trust level between Jammers when it comes to trading and similar transacting. Though I wish this weren't necessary, it would appear that it is. Everyone send me a list of the Jammers (names and e-mail) you have traded or transacted with, and whether you felt each individual experience was good or bad, and if bad, why. I will compile these submissions to create a Ytse-traders list. In order to be put on the "good trader" section, two people must submit a name. In order to be put on the "bad trader" section, two people must also submit a name. If a name is submitted for both categories, there will be a "mixed response" section as well. If you see your name anywhere on the list, you may e-mail me at any time and I will tell you who submitted your name and why. There will be NO anonymity in this process. If I find out that soeone has lied about a particular submission, you can count on their ending up on the "bad traders" section by default. This list will be to promote honesty, all around. Sound fair? Let me know. Mail your submissions here: mailto:andrew.forcier@prudential.com . Do not reply directly to this message, as I will be taking the submissions from a different server. As I do not have web space right now, I hope someone would volunteer to display the finished product, otherwise I'll just include something in my sig as a reference to get it by e-mail. If a good number of people think this is not a fair idea, I will discontinue the process. Gee, I think we can include Pat of Ytse t-shirt fame, Jim Colberg, and Mike and Melissa Bahr by default. :) Any disagreement there? -- _____________________________________________________________ Andrew Forcier a.k.a.
