Maybe we should start a list for people who have had Ozzy cancel on them
at the last minute.
I think it would give the NMS a run for its money!!! :)

I have two announcements. One for the T-Shirts and one for the
Videos.
Videos- everything is going great and the videos are already
shipping. Due to popular demand, I have added several selections from
Mike's video vault to the list of available video tapes. Consult the web
page at:http://www.goodnet.com/~durnik for full details. There is
currently no backlog of video orders. All current video orders received,
went out in Saturday's mail. So as you can see, I have avoided curse of
Mike Delay Syndrome.
T-Shirts- Most of you inquiring about the T-Shirts wanted to buy
them at the end of the summer. Since this coincides with the influx of
jammers returning to school, it makes the most sense for me to run the
print run then. While orders will remain open on this item, the shirts
will be delivered on or about the start of the school year, so those of
you with current orders in may (a) wait and get it then, via first class
mail, the day they get finished, with a small surprise, or (b) get a
refund and re-order closer to shipping time. Either way is OK with us and
we're trying to be as flexible as possible for those of you who are
supporting us so wonderfully.

Someone wanted to know what's going on with Crimson Glory:
Well, a new album is supposed to be in stores any day now.
It's called -Prophecy:Gateway To The Stars-
It's was recorded with the original line-up (transcendence-era) minus
Midnight. they have a new vocalist who is said to be great.
That's all the info I have, anyone want to add something?

This is just a statement from East West that the album will be out sometime
in 1997. So nothing new...However, D-Man, September would be a bit risky
because many releases come out that time, so it could well come out Oct/Nov
when the dust settles.

Hi all
last week I managed to get my hands on a copy of the album 'Creature' by the
Canadian band Moist, so here is my somewhat biased opinion.
This is an album that I was really looking forward to. Their first album
'Silver' is one of the best debut albums I've ever heard, so I was a bit
worried that they may not be able to match it - well, I needn't have worried,
because 'Creature' is even better. It carries on where 'Silver' stopped and then
some more. The songs are more varied, but each has the distinctive Moist feel
to it, some remind me a little of Alice In Chains, whereas others are the sort
of song that Pearl Jam would love to be able to write. A couple of the songs
have definite radio potential and should be played by open-minded DJs everywhere
- this band deserves success. This music is not alternative, it is not grunge,
it is not Brit pop, it is simply Moist and I can whole-heartedly recommend this
album and this band to those of you who like a wide range of music. Just for the
record, my personal favourites are 'Leave It Alone', 'Tangerine' and 'Baby Skin
Tattoo' (love the title).
Question time: what's the link between Dream Theater and Prong (RIP)? There is
one and I know the answer.
Und keine Eier!
stay safe and happy listening

I don't think anyone who knows what they're talking about would say that
Satch was better than Vai in cold hard technical terms, I agree. I also
tend to listen to Vai much more now than Satriani, although it was the
other way around when I was but a baby shredder.
My only gripe is: doesn't it really suck that Steve has seen fit to put
vocals down on Fire Garden? You'd think that Rescue Me or Bury Me would
have been enough. Because of this, I still believe Passion and Warfare to
be the absolute high-point of his career, with such inventive instrumental
music.
He also uses a couple of runs on Fire Garden that are just lifted and
transposed from Passion and Warfare, which I found disappointing.
He still rocks though, and remains probably in the top five "People I'd
Like to Meet" chart!
PS: Thanks for getting me on here DM!

Hi there!
In the last Jam somebody asked for Crimson GLory.
I've read some time ago that they are doing a new record in the style
of "Crimson Glory" and "Transcendence" but unfortunatly without
Midnight...
Now I have a question:
Does anybody know anything about the new (third) Shadow Gallery CD?
Best wishes,
Michael

I did not see one other DT shirt in the place. I wore mine and Bafu
found me.
It was very windy so they couldn't put up the sheet/picture/screen?
thing in the back.
What was is for?
They played a good combo of old and new songs. I wish they would've
played Best I Can,
though.
Geoff sounded great and only skipped out on a couple of high notes.
The new stuff went over a lot beter live, IMO. Even Get a Life was
pretty good.
Before the encore Jackson brought his gf out on stage and proposed!!!

Attention all Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex Jammers!
Fates Warning is playing at Caravan of Dreams in Fort Worth on August 02,
and the tickets are really cheap ($12)! Caravan is a *great* venue - very
intimate with great acoustics. Don't miss it!
Does anyone know if Kevin Moore will play with FW on the American tour?

So Binky and I are just getting out of the Subway at the South Station
stop, and Steve Vai rides by on his bike. I waved and yelled, "Steve!"
like the crazed fan that I am. Steve turned and looked. Then turned
back. Then he turned back to Binky and I and waved. While riding a
bicycle on the deadly streets of Boston no less! Heh.
Oh, sorry, the show --
Ummmm..... Robert Fripp started off playing some pretty wacked guitar
synth-on-crack stuff. ("You can't afford one of these so just sit there and
listen to me play this stuff, okay?") Kenny Wayne Shephard hit the
stage at around 7:30 and kicked it blues style. Somewhat phat.
Vai was next, and although his set was enjoyable, too many times whammy
bar wanking substituted real notes. (IMHO) Mike, Mike and Phil were
awesome.
Satch came on last. He ruled. Stu did a bass solo and it was way slick.
Then the other guitar dudes came out at the end and jammed. Kinda cool
to see.
Well, there's my G3 review in a nutshell. In case anyone is thinking
about going, definitely go, but bring those earplugs. Four guitar
players wailing away at once is, well, like, really loud.

Hey Gang, Just wanted to give my opinions on the new Megadeth and the new Stratovarius if anyone is interested.
CRYPTIC WRITINGS: Megadeth has again put out a very good disc. It seems to have quite a few faster tunes than Youthanasia, and is a bit heavier in most places. Lotsa cacthy tunes, but not quite the consistensy of Youthanasia IMO. Bottom line: if you liked Youthanasia and Countdown, you will prolly dig this one also.
VISIONS: Stratovarius has definitely topped themselves with this fantastic disc. I wouldn't say it totally 'Blows Away' Episode, but it does top it. More catchy melodies and great guitar-keyboard neo-classical shredding. Best new disc I have purchased since 'Divine Wings of Tragedy' by Sym. X (which by the way is a must for anyone with a shred of dignity :) For anyone who liked the last 2 Strat discs, you should make a point to get this one for sure.

Greetings ye 'jamanoids!
First of all, a big hello from Timo T., Timo K. and Jens of Stratovarius to all jammers.

They will. You and me, among others will make sure of that, won't we? I believe that once Stratovarius finishes their South American and European tours, Timo Kotipelto the singer will join us here in the 'jam. At least that's what he told me yesterday.

Brandon: >I think that this is on all the CDs. My friend just got this as well and >told me about the same problem.
This is kinda curious. The European NOISE release of "Visions" has no live songs on it, but there's a Windows AVI video clip of "The Kiss of Judas" on the disc. Are you telling me that the U.S. version doesn't have this video clip on it? Does anyone know what the unlisted live song is? Can anyone quote me some of the chorus lyrics that I could recognize the song for you?
>Guys: Get the Stratovarius album titled "episode." It kicks major buns.
Amen! And for the minor buns, get "Fourth Dimension"!
>The guitarist reminds me a lot of Petrucci and sometimes Steve Morse (ala >"tumeni notes") on the 8th track of the album. I'm reluctant to buy prog >that I haven't heard because more than once I have been disappointed. My >friend had this up at school and he let me borrow it. This is now one of >my favorite prog bands. I haven't gotten "visions" yet, but plan to.
Way to go, Brandon! Yesterday, when I was on stage taking some photos of Stratovarius, I took a look at the foggy lake the stage was beside while the band played the ending of "Forever". It was pretty moving stuff, it was one of those things money can never buy. Talk about music for the occasion...
