    Hello,
So, as I said before, I finally got my KTS discs. WOO_HOO!
Unfortunately, they replaced my SRV order with an Extreme disc. Not that
I didn't put that down as back up, I was just hoping for some new Stevie
Ray... So any trades I had lined up can now come into being. Sorry
Swifty, guess you'll just have to settle on something else...
Why didn't anyone warn me about Lords of Sound? I practically screamed
when LtL jump-edited. But there is Eve and To Live Forever to make up
for it a little. Overall a good boot. I also got INXS and Collective
Soul, which I'm sure no one wants to hear about.
Now I just have to wait for all my Bahr and Colberg stuff to get here
from various sources. I am so broke... I need some will power. Can
    anyone spare some?
And yes, my sig just keeps growing and growing... :P

    Hi amigos...

Not happy about being a mediocre guitar player, I decided to also buy a bass... so I would appreciate if any of you could give me some info on the sound characteristics of each type of wood. I know all that stuff guitar-wise, but bass is a new venue for me... I think the most common types are alder, mahogany, maple (for necks) and koa. I think I'm going for a 5 or 6-string bass.

Could anybody also help me out with the specs on John Myung's Tung and Yamaha basses (see, D-man, I read the FAQ first hehehe)? What kind of wood for the body/neck/fretboard, as well as the eletronics (probably Bartolini, from what I heard)?

If the answer is NDTC, you can e-mail me privately... Thanks

    Hi there,

Answering to the question of a jammer, "the fix for 96" 2 CD boot is the show from Providence 12.12.96. The sound is not good, just average. It includes 5 new songs (you all know about them!). The two bonus tracks are taken from a Mike and John clinic in holland, and the sound is awful! As a conclusion, I would say that this boot is not worth 60 dollars, but it's the only one with the new songs... So make your own opinion.

Yeah I just graduated earlier this month. About damn time, too. Graduated on the same night Rush was at riverport, so I couldn't go to the rush concert. (Talk about your fucking timing.)

For the guy who just got his first rush album: Awesome band! A lot of their early stuff prior to Fly By Night is a lot more like Led Zeppelin than anything else, but it gets better than a Zeppelin clone.. Try A Farewell to Kings or 2112.. They're awesome..

According to the Screaming in Digital Webpage, when EMI shut down, QR signed a deal with Virgin Records.

With the karaoke feature on some stereos, i believe the way it tries to get rid of the vocals is that it goes into mono, and it reverses the L or R channel polarity - that way, by the law of superposition, any signal panned directly to the center position will cancel itself out. The reason that it doesnt work consistently is that in pop music, there is typically a stereo reverb on the vocals, so you still hear that. Mine seems to work best on Slayer albums, probably because Rick Rubin keeps the vocals completely dry and panned directly in the center. To the jammer who said it really works to bring the guitars out on Rush albums, it is probably because Alex used to do 2 takes of rhythm guitar and pan them L and R respectively. Another jammer posted and suggested that a bandpass eq is used, and that may also be the case, in conjunction with above.

Okay the reason I'm even typing this up. I was just reading through the last 50 jams or so (whew). And I came up to a post about the 4 types of DT fans by D-Man. While he got the first 3 right but he couldn't remember what his orginal 4th was. Well I remeber his orginal post from when I first joined and the 4th is the pop fan. He explained that there people who like DT for The Silent Man and the like.

Oh yeah I was listening to WSOU(89.5) in NJ last night and heard Emperor(sorry forgot the song), but man it was exactly like whoever it was who posted the visual music of black metal. But it was fun to listen to.

    Well that's it from me.

Rush absolutly put on a brillant show. They exceeded my expectations, and I thought that it would be a great show. They were full of energy, they were tight as a fresh cherry ....... The sound was also great and the visual effects did not dissapoint. Neil's solo brought the fans to their feet. I thought the best songs performed were Red Barchetta, Leave that thing alone, and of course 2112. I heard that Rush is taping every show and plan for a live album after the tour, but I don't think that has much to do with their performance, they just seem to be enjoying themselves.
