you may just regret responding to that, curth...

first of all, the reason jason HAD a side band was because, for the most
part, Jaymz and Lars wrote and put together all the music while Jaymz handled
the lyrics. what jason wanted to do was get some of his music (which, along
with kirk's) wasn't being used for the most part. I think the major reason he
did the side band thing (IR8 i think) was to get some of his lyrical ideas
out because he used to write virtually all the lyrics in Flotsam and Jetsam.

as for their attitude now as opposed to 12 years ago, yes, they may have
changed slightly, but that's not the point. the point is the band has been
changing from album to album since Lightning. go and listen to Kill 'em All,
then go and listen to the first side of 'lightning' the only song that even
vaguely resembles anything on 'Kill' is the title track. the other 3 songs
consist of an apocolyptic death song, a slow, super heavy song and a BALLAD.
unheard of when talking about Metallica at that time

anyway, i apologize about taking up space with this.

"...cause if i had enough time, i'd take these rosary bleads and, uh, stuff
    'em up your nose"

Well, sorry I didn't express myself correctly, the truth is that I don't
like Devin's singing. That doesn't make Steve a better singer than he, it's
    only my personal taste.

I heard that MP has a video out called something like "how to play
progressive rock" I would love to get a copy of this does anyone have it?
Also, does anyone know when MP plans to hold another clinic and
where? I missed the one he did a few months ago in RI, I really wanted to
go but I had other things going. Oh well. later, J

I heard the new QR song on the radio tonight and it seemed somewhat
"simplified" to me. Don't get me wrong, I like it but, Geoff Tate needs to
quit smoking it's destroying his voice.. He didn't hit the high notes like
he could on previous albums. Does anyone know if this is because of the
smoking or is he just cutting down on the work involved in singing? I am
kind of concerned, he used to be (what I consider) the best singer in
modern/past metal/rock, if you know what I mean. No offense to KJ :P

yea... I can to the same but opposite conclusion!! This cannot be the same
man who wrote "Rest in Peace" or "Stop the World". I wouldn't say that
Schizophonic is bad... anymore, just ho-hum. Maybe there's hope for VH yet.

    Howdy fellow 'jammers!

First things first, but backwards kinda...hey Richie, I've heard of
Tall Stories. Hell, I have their first album. I was cruisin' through K-Mart
about 4 years ago when I decided to check out their cut-out bin. I saw this
funny looking cover, you know, like if I was at a carnival. Anyway, I read the
songs on the back, and thought, "Damn, this one sounds familiar...'Wild On The
Run'...where have I heard that before?" Funny thing was, I hadn't heard the
song in a looong time, but was reminded of it a few days earlier while relaxing
on MP's practice pad. Kinda weird that way. Almost wacky.

On to KLOS. I am so F**KING STOKED!!! Tonight, at 6:53 PM, they
played "Summer Song"...that's the first time that they have played Satch (aside
from when the G-3 concert was in town) for over a year. I am so glad they
switched back to their old format. BTW, 2 weeks ago they actually played the
full version of "Roundabout", which they probably haven't done in about 3
    years!

            "RAH-E-ROWWWWWWWWW!!!"

Please, someone, can I get a ride to the place? I know it's short notice,
but I could probably get to Boston, Albony, or something like that. No
one here cares about what will happen and thus don't want to go. I can't
drive and I'm in MA, right by Bennington VM. If anyone can do this (I
will pay for gas money) please call (413) 597-2738 at any time between now
    and tomorrow. Thanks, be well.

Just an interesting little story. Yesterday I was listening to WCWP while working (Im a live in nanny again in case you guys didn't know...yep...Long Island this time) and decided to request some DT, just to make my presence known...The little girl that I watch ( who is ten months old and had been crying for the last hour due to a bad cold) started bopping around to Kings X while Iwas on the phone with the DJ. He thought it was hilarious, so instead of playing one DT song for me...He played a block of them. I picked up a baby rattle and started doing percussion, much to the delight of my little charge. By the time it got around to a "whohohooo" part, she was laying on the floor laughing and I was singing really agressively into her little foot. No more crying, a happy baby, and an easier day for me resulted....YEY for DT...I've found their calling...Heavy Metal RAFFI for fussy babies LOL

-LadyDragon Heather (PS...Im jamming with that DJ's band really soon LOL)
