The worst lyrics I ever heard is a tough thing to call. I'd have to give
it to something off of either Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys parts
one or Two or Gamma Ray's Heading for Tomorrow. The only denect lyrics on
either of those three are from the title song of the Gamma Ray album.

I think that for sheer disappointment factor I'd give it to Helloween's
"Keeper..." the song. Here they go and name two albums after this song,
and it;s nothing but an extremely cheesy "go kill the devil" fantasy song.
sigh. But for sheer absurdity it's probably be something like "Space
Eater" or the Helloween song about life being like a ball and "doing it
with a chair", or maybe that "Halloween" song with the lovely cameo
appearance by Linus and the Great Pumpkin. Hm. So much drivel, so little
    time to talk about it.

    Uhhh...yeah, right.
It never ceases to amaze me some of the bull I see
on here from time to time, and it is usually a critique
of one of DT's members, prefaced with something like
"so & so is good, but I think I heard him make a mistake
in such & such song at 8:13 into it...."

If I sound defensive, it's because I am. For someone to sit
and tell me Portnoy drifts and Zonder doesn't....oh shit, I
can't even put into words how stupid I think the statement is.

This isn't a flame Doc...you'll probably notice that I get
jumpy whenever someone starts nit-picking any member of DT
on this Fan based mailing list.

I think you're on crack, Portnoy is solid, and so far I haven't
    heard you play any better.

Yes as a whole "Legend" is better than the first two. I must admit that it doesn't have as much guitar work or cool fast songs but it is very atmospheric *grin*. Kind of like listenng to Pink Floyd albums. You really need to put on the head phones and sit back and relax and hear the whole thing through.

When they are finished with the trilogy it is going to kick ass! I would recommend any of their 4 releases to people on here. You can write to their fan club to get the CDs cheap. There are some web pages out there with sounds as well. Check them out.

Ok they are Christian metal but in no way preachy...no Stryper stuff here *laugh*.

Got the new QR CD a couple of days ago (along with the Aerosmith CD) & the new QR is great stuff. Just my opinion, though. I live in Seattle, but I'm still not quite sure how to differentiate "grunge" from "alternative" or anything else, for that matter. I am a guitarist & vocalist (with a few rockin' copyrights to my name). I just know what my mind & ears like!

For dumb lyrics, listen to the first Green Jello release "Cereal Killer". I still have this album and its quite amusing to listen to:

"Silly Rabbit- TRIX ARE FOR KIDS Follow your nose It always nose The flavor of dirt Wherever it goes" - Cereal Killer 1993

Yes, I stare at the CD when I first get it- I usually follow along to all the lyrics and before the CD is even out of my player, put the box in my collection to see how it looks. Strange-eh?

The new Metal Edge with Aerosmith (june issue) on the cover has pictures from the NAMM music convention. There is a picture of Portnoy with his pregnant wife. Someone may have already mentioned this but just thought you might like to know. The Metal Edge with Marilyn Manson on the cover talks about SAVATAGE and a concert they did with TSO. I guess there was some lady from the musical CATS that sang with them.

also, does anyone else think that the new DT won't be as good as the others? The new songs that I have heard just don't seem to 'rock'. It almost isn't metal anymore. There is a more jazzy alternative feel to them. But I guess we should wait for the studio versions!
