Not all KD albums are concept albums. "The Spider's Lullabye" is not a
concept album. The last 4 songs do link together, but the first 6 songs are
    completely unrelated.

Windmills, wooden shoes, tulips, half of Van Halen, Lemur Voice,
The Gathering, Rutgher Hauer (actor), Jan de Bont (speed), Paul
Verhoeven (Basic Instinct), Adam Curry (ex-MTV), Golden Earring
(band), Philips, CD, CD-i, Heineken, Grolsh, liquorice... Does
anyone from Holland have anything to add to that list ? :-)

    > I guess we are the dumb ones.

    :-)

Btw, got the new QR last Saturday. Listened to it at the store...
Bought it anyway... Listened to it in the best way I could think
of... lying on my bed, lights off, headphones. First impression :
"I FUCKING HATE IT !". Couple more listens... sounds cool, not bad.
Listened to it 12 times in 3 days. Right now, I love it, but IMO
it's not half as good as any of their other albums. I can see this
one getting old REAL fast. It reminds me of "Test For Echo" in that
respect. Hated it, loved it, got bored by it. Both albums are
produced by Peter Collins... Coincidence ? Also, both album covers
were designed by Hugh Syme. Love them both :-) Current favourites :
"Some People Fly", "Saved", "Hero", "All I Want", "spOOL" :->
The only song I really hate is "Get A Life". I'm sure the lyrics
will come in handy, next time I feel like flaming someone :-)

I e-mailed the Jam a while ago and never got any response/help. What I
was wondering is that I sent an application for a membership to the
DTIFC in January. Umm....it's April now and I haven't received any
correspondance from it. Does this mean the rumors I hear about people
sending in and never getting responded to true? Please let me know
(ie. Current Members) if this is just a standard thing. I appreciate
    any help.

    Thanks,

Since I joined this list earlier today, I figured I'd say hi to everyone and
    introduce myself.
I've been a fan of DT since the first time I heard/saw them when they opened
for Marillion at the Ritz in 1990. Since then, I've seen them four more
times. I next saw them at Sundance on Long Island open for Marillion again.
This was the show they played as Ytse Jam and mostly instrumental until Steve
Stone came on to sing one song (I could've swore it was Metropolis, but the
FAQ said it was Change of Seasons). I also saw them at the Limelight (the
Dance of Eternity show) where I heard Change of Seasons for the first time
(or at least I thought!). I still have the "Playbill" from the show. I have
also seen them at the Manhattan Center and Malibu.
When I bought Images and Words (one of my all-time favorite albums), I was
astonished to see my old college radio station, WCWP, get a thank you from
the band. I do remember that WCWP (C.W. Post's radio station) did play WDADU
in its setlist. Anybody who listened to WCWP in the late '80's may remember a
DJ by the name of Mike Adams. That was me.
I am an avid DT collector. I have some bootleg CDs, including Dance of
Eternity, IntruMentals I and II, Wake Up and others. I also have a good
collection of videos -- Limelight, Manhattan Center, San Francisco, Tokyo,
    Toronto.
One of the reasons why I got on the Internet was because I had missed the Fix
for '96 show at Mulcahey's because I didn't know about it. Since I got
online, I know I won't miss out on any DT news. I'm still pissed that I
missed the show but I did get a tape of the Toad's Place show and the new
songs are outstanding! I can't wait for the new CD (if it ever comes out!).

Thanks for reading and take care,
    Adam Perkowsky (Perk1994@aol.com)

Not only is this hilarious, but did anyone notice how ON Mike's voice was?
I heard a tape of this show, and he was right on. I had no idea Mike could
sing, especially after his attempt at Surrounded, back in 92/93. Also, did
anyone notice that on some of the new songs, there are harmony backing
vocals. I assume this is Mike also, but it's hard to tell. I think Mike
    really wants to sing..bad.

so after driving 4 hours in fucking snow, i get back to find 94
messages....needless to say, i deleted every single fucking one of
them...thus, i've probably missed everyone and their mother's reviews of the
    new ryche and so forth.....

but before i go there, check this shit out:

    a) i was watching tv, and there was a twix commercial on, 2 guys (father and
son) were in a maternity ward viewing all these babies (i imagine one of them
belonged to the son), and they were ramblinb about something silly....i would
tell you about if i hadn't heard what was going on in the
background...........in the background, i kept hearing the hospital scene
from the beginning of operation mindcrime!!!!! i almost fainted.....it was
    something else....whew.

    b) i was in tower records clearance outlet, and in the 1 dollar bin was every
tnt album......anyone know if the charlie watts who produced them is the same
charlie watts of the rolling stones??

    c) if anyone ever gets a chance to check out vernon reid and his "science
project".......please do. i saw it 3/24 at the knitting factory, and it was
by far one of the most bizarre things i've ever seen.....it's what i would
have to call "progressive new york jazz-funk-rock"......it would take me
forever to write about it, so i won't here.....just do it.

    d) anyone else get the second part of the renaissance king biscuit flower
    hour and hate it?

the grandiose ryche review everyone who's anyone on the jam has to give:
i like it. it's weird. it's very raw. it's soundgarden. it's very well done.
degarmo (i'm assuming that's him) does a nioce job with leads on that one
song. he cut his hair....he looks like weiland to me almost. geoff looks
great with a teacup in his mouth......scott is a cocksucker!). but the
music's good. i actually put away my marilyn and firestarter cd's to listen
to ryche. not an album i could recommend to 1st-time ryche listeners- kinda
like recommending an album like "duke" to 1st time genesis listeners or "the
final cut" to floyd listeners. but yeah, good work.

so how many people fucked their brackets up likewise? to think, i actually
won my pool, that's how bad it got. and in the ladies bracket, i swept that
up, even though i had tennessee losing to grambling in the 1st round.

27 days until the mothership lands in binghamton! peace.

People are confusing higher education (college/university) which is fairly
well regarded, with education in grades K-12. This "lower" education is
where the studies say the US is ranked last (or very low) among
    industrialised nations.

You're a fine one to talk Chris! During the fix for 96 debate you
spew all kinds of shit but then justify buying Mike Bahr's CD's
by saying "Since the band didn't try to stop it, then it was ok."
Those words may not be exact, but they're pretty close.

So I guess by your example you're saying it was alright for
Hitler to kill miilions of Jews because when he started putting
them in Ghettos no one really objected, that meant it was ok
to kill them. Some morals you got there Chris!

Why do you think the initials for Kentucky is KY? It must be a
    beastiality thing.

On YTSEJAM 2404, someone said that they had listened to some of the new DT
material. Where did he do it, and where can I go to hear it?

Even though I'm a patriotic American (or perhaps BECAUSE I love my
country), I must agree with much of this, and also add that I think the
teacher's union is a big part of the problem in US public education. All
teachers have to belong (and pay dues) whether they want to or not, and
pretty much all the union does is try as hard as possible to fill its
leader's pockets with cash. This, along with all the bullshit
administration, does wonders for teacher morale, let me tell you (not to
    mention students').

It should also be noted, however, that literacy and employment should be
viewed separately, because countries such as the Scandanavian ones that
were mentioned basically guarantee every adult a job, many of which are for
the government - kind of a large scale, permanent, bureaucratic Works
Progress Admistration (for those of you familiar with Depression-era
    history in the US).

Okay, here is my deal here. I am a big fan of music video's but
they never seem t play anything good. Every once and a while a I will
see a Guns N Roeses video but that is it. I think that we might have a
chance to see some cool videos if ppl could email MTV and ask them to
play some other shit. They used to have a Headbangers Ball a few years
back that played DT a few times, they even had some of them on as a
guest. I know it probly will not work but hey! its worth a try! SO
PLEASE EMAIL THEM! I am really getting feed up with that crap that has
    been played lately.
